FRESOR Max Beast Disposables Review: Wireless Charging!?

FRESOR Max Beast Disposables

FRESOR Max Beast Disposables - 12

4.0

Excellent

CONS

The bottom line

The Max Beast may lack an adjustable power option but the output is perfectly suited to the 35mg/ml nicotine strength nic salt ejuice that these come with. The lack of adjustable power also keeps them really beginner friendly; just take them out of the packaging and start vaping, that’s it.

The wireless charging feature is really nice to have if you work at a desk all day. You can incrementally charge the device each time you put it down, keeping it topped up for when you get up.

The wireless charging isn’t the best for full charges though and if speed is your priority, you’ll want to use the wired charging option for the quickest charging times. The Max Beast will still take over an hour and a half for a full charge though, which is quite lengthy when compared to other disposables on the market.

There are lots and lots of new, spiffy disposable vapes being released these days and they’re all vying for your hard-earned cash. To set themselves apart, companies have been beefing up their disposables with larger puff counts, larger screens, and wireless charging… Wait, wireless charging?

Yes, you read that right. FRESOR’s new Max Beast disposables are the world’s first disposable devices to offer wireless and reverse wireless charging. They also have a Type-C charging port for “normal” wired charging but that’s so 2023, right?

Jokes aside, it’s a cool niche feature that sets the Max Beast apart and makes charging a bit more convenient. In addition to this, the Max Beast offers 15000 puffs, adjustable airflow, and features a large display with ejuice and battery level readouts.

Should you get the Max Beast, and is the wireless charging feature as cool as it sounds? You’ll find out in this review.

Design & Build Quality

  • FRESOR Max Beast Disposables - 1

The Max Beast is designed little differently from other disposable vapes out there, but not so differently that you’re left wondering what type of device you’re holding.

It has a rectangle shape with rounded corners that measures 95mm tall, 47.5mm wide, and 25.5mm deep. It’s a nice size for a disposable, especially since it comes filled with 16ml of ejuice for up to 15000 puffs. Considering the amount of ejuice and the high puff count, it’s nowhere near as large as I expected it to be.

The back and sides of each one are completely finished in a soft-touch coating which feels really good. It gets dirty quite quickly but I was able to get any dirt off by wiping it with a damp cloth. I’ve always liked soft-touch finishes and the one on the Max Beast is as good as any.

Since the units that I received for this review are samples, the flavor is printed on a sticker that is stuck onto the back of each one. I’m guessing that the production versions will have the flavor printed onto the actual device.

The front of the Max Beast is where things get unique. Looking at it from the front, it looks like a mini smartphone. The entire front is covered with a black plastic cover which curves and extends around the edges. There’s an obvious space/UFO theme going on with little UFO’s and a large rocket ship printed in silver onto the black plastic. A FRESOR logo is also printed at the top.

On FRESOR’S website, they state that the Max Beast has a “Dynamic Full Curved Screen” but this is misleading at best. When you take a draw, only the center of the screen lights up to illuminate a UFO, a planet, and some stars, and the bottom of the screen lights up to display your ejuice and battery percentages.

The screen does curve a little if you count the black plastic that overlays it, but it’s such a small curve that it’s really not as fancy as it is made out to be. ‘Full’ is also a stretch.

Regardless of the marketing jargon that they advertise, the actual portion of the screen that is useful, the battery and ejuice readouts, are really bright and vibrant. They also have a 3D look to them because they sit under the plastic cover. The illuminated picture of the UFO and planet I could do without as it undoubtedly drains battery life.

On the side of the device is an adjustable airflow switch that consists of one large airflow slot. This switch can be moved up to open the airflow, or down to close it. The switch is of medium-firmness so it’s easy to adjust but it also stays where it is set.

Features

FRESOR Max Beast Disposables - 11

FRESOR’s Max Beast brings a feature that has never been seen before on disposable vapes and that’s wireless charging. However, it also lacks some features that are becoming more and more ‘standard’ for high-puff count disposables, mainly adjustable wattage.

While adjustable wattage or multiple output levels is something that I like to see on a high-puff disposable, the 20W output of the Max Beast actually feels more than sufficient for a good draw and vaping experience. I’ve been using the 35mg/ml nicotine strength version and to me it feels just fine.

I’ve already mentioned the adjustable airflow in the previous section so I won’t delve too deep, but the airflow range is exclusively for mouth to lung vapers. Fully open the airflow delivers a medium mouth to lung draw, while nearly closed it’s a tight mouth to lung draw. If you’re after a loose MTL or a RDL draw you won’t get it from the Max Beast.

Now for the feature that I’m sure you’re the most curious about: wireless charging. If you have a wireless charger at home, like near your desk, then this is an easy way to keep the Max Beast topped up at all times without having to mess with plugging it in all the time. The Max Beast also has a physically Type-C charging port for charging though.

You really can’t beat the convenience of wireless charging. After the first day, it just felt natural to place it on the wireless charger whenever I was working at my desk. This kept the battery nicely topped up all day and fully charged for when I left my desk.

Incremental charging is the best use of the wireless charging feature. It doesn’t charge as fast as wired charging so for those times when the battery is fully depleted, plugging it in is going to be the quickest way to get the Max Beast fully charged.

The 850mAh battery inside of the Max Beast takes an hour and 40 minutes to fully charge when plugged in; far longer than the typical hour that other devices take.

The battery and ejuice readouts on the Max Beast are helpful to have and seem to accurately track where each one is sitting. The readouts only go up to 99% though because there isn’t room on the display for three digits; don’t sit there like I did waiting for the battery to read 100% or you’ll be waiting forever!

Flavors

FRESOR Max Beast Disposables - 4

The Max Beast is going to be available in 7+ flavors but I can’t find the full list of available flavors right now. The flavors that I do know are:

  • Double Apple
  • Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
  • Lemon Mint
  • Rainbow Candy
  • Red Apple
  • Strawberry Mango
  • Strawberry Raspberry

That list doesn’t give a lot to go on, that’s for sure. But going off what I know, the flavors seem a bit one-dimensional and there really isn’t a lot of variety. It also doesn’t help that I was only sent three flavors for this review, but I’ll do my best to describe how they vape.

I’m going to describe how each of these three flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Double Apple

This double apple tastes almost exactly like what you would get from a hookah bar. It has that strong, almost licorice apple flavor that brings me back to my early twenties, smoking a hookah with my friends. It’s not very sweet and not like a candy apple either. If you’ve ever had a double apple shisha, you’ll know what I mean!

Rainbow Candy

This flavor is very much a candy one and it’s pretty sweet (in two ways). The candy flavor is accurately recreated with this flavor and the light fruity notes are just right. It’s not exactly like eating chewy candies but it’s close enough; and without the calories!

Strawberry Mango

If we’re naming flavors in the order of how strong the flavors are, Mango Strawberry would be a better name for this one. The taste of mango is unmistakable and very strong all the way from the beginning to the end of the draw. Strawberry notes pop up here and there throughout the draw but they’re more like background notes to the mango flavor.

How do they vape?

FRESOR Max Beast Disposables - 3

All of the Max Beast disposables that I was sent for this review came in 35mg/ml strength. The 20W non-adjustable output feels just excellent with this nicotine strength. A lower strength would probably feel underpowered, while a higher strength would likely produce a draw that is too strong. For the nicotine strength, FRESOR set the wattage output at just the right level for a satisfying draw that isn’t under or overwhelming.

Adjustable airflow is always nice to have but, and this is one of the few times that I’ve said this about a device, the Max Beast could have done without it. I left the airflow open on all my devices and really enjoyed the medium mouth to lung draw that I got from it. It’s obviously good that these have adjustable airflow because you might want a tighter draw, but I myself barely used it.

I vaped on one flavor more than the others and that is the Double Apple flavor. With this flavor, after about 10,000 puffs, the ejuice level is reading as 20%. I take pretty long draws so that’s probably why it isn’t at ~33% like I would expect, but still having ejuice left after 10K puffs is impressive in itself.

The puff count isn’t why I mention this though but rather the flavor. While there’s a little bit of a flavor drop off, it’s not enough that it would stop me from using the device to completion. The double apple flavor isn’t popping as much as it did when I first started using it but it doesn’t taste burnt or muted either. The dual mesh coils that FRESOR is using for these disposables are clearly good enough to last.

Verdict
