The bottom line
The NEXA Ultra II is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a solid high-puff disposable. The small upgrades make an already great device, the NEXA ULTRA, even better. Keeping the cotton wick separate from the e-juice tank effectively limits leaking and helps maintain the freshness of your e-juice, and I like that they kept this design while also making it a little easier to assemble than the original.
Moving the cotton wick closer to the bottom of the e-juice pod is a smart change that ensures the ejuice is in contact with the wick until the last draw. Additionally, the increase in battery capacity to 900mAh allows vapers to enjoy longer usage between charges, which is a slight but welcome improvement over the NEXA ULTRA 50000.
Overall, the NEXA ULTRA 2 is a great high-puff disposable that leaves little to be desired. It’s certainly better than the original and comparable to the best high-puff disposable vapes on the market. If you’re looking to switch from smoking to vaping or just looking for a new disposable vape that will last, the ULTRA 2 gets my recommendation.

Product Overview
NEXA emerged on the market just last year and has quickly established itself in a highly competitive industry. How does a new vaping brand manage to stand out and make an impact? By developing high-quality and reliable devices like the NEXA FLEX, NEXA PIX, and NEXA Ultra 50000, the latter two of which currently hold spots on our list of best disposable vapes.
The NEXA Ultra 50000 was already an impressive device, so I was understandably excited when I was asked to review the new and updated version, the NEXA Ultra II. This new model features a larger 900mAh battery, a more compact and portable size, and an aesthetically pleasing, sturdy design.
Similar to the previous model, the pod is disconnected from the device in the package, ensuring optimal e-juice freshness. This design also helps to eliminate any potential leaking issues before it reaches your hands.
Some of the tried-and-true specifications that remain unchanged from the original include a transparent e-juice tank, the ability to provide up to 50,000 puffs, and both normal and turbo vaping modes.
At launch, there are 15 flavor options available to choose from. Is the NEXA Ultra 2 better than the original? How does it compare to other disposable vapes in general? Is it worth purchasing? You’ll find out in this review.

Getting Started
Taking the NEXA Ultra II out of the box might be surprising at first—it sort of looks like it skipped a step in production! But the two-piece design is intentional, and keeping the e-juice pod separate from the battery is done to ensure freshness and minimize the risk of leaks. If you ask me, those are good enough reasons to require a bit of easy assembly.
Start by removing any stickers, as well as the cardboard strip, from the device. Next, snap the device together. You’ll know it’s fully assembled when the tank sits flush with the battery.
I like that the NEXA Ultra 2 comes almost fully assembled, unlike the Ultra 50000, which required connecting two completely separate pieces. This makes the setup process much easier, and you don’t have to worry about making a mess while putting it together.
Once the device is assembled and all of the stickers and plugs are removed, I recommend letting it sit for about 10 minutes before vaping. Although this isn’t mentioned on the device, allowing time for the cotton wick to saturate with e-juice is essential. If you skip this step, you risk burning the wick/coil, which would be a waste.
Design & Build
The NEXA Ultra II is nearly 10% shorter than its predecessor, measuring 92mm in height, while maintaining a width of 55mm and a depth of 28mm. It is also slightly lighter, weighing 89g. Unlike the Ultra 50000, the Ultra II is small enough to be easily concealed in the palm of my hand, which is nice.
The NEXA Ultra features the same circuit board light theme as the original, but it now includes the option to turn the lights off completely. To deactivate the lights, simply hold the power button for three seconds. You can turn the lights back on in the same way if you choose.
The display screen is straightforward, showing the battery percentage prominently in the center, with the mode indicated above or below it. For example, if you are in Normal Mode, “NORM” will be lit up under the battery percentage. When you switch to Turbo Mode, the word “TURBO” lights up above the battery percentage. You can change between the two modes by pressing the button once.
There is no need for an e-liquid indicator on the display screen, as the NEXA Ultra II features a fully transparent e-liquid tank. I prefer this approach for tracking e-liquid levels, as it allows me to see the amount remaining rather than relying on potentially inaccurate indicators. Between an e-juice indicator and a transparent tank, the transparent tank is definitely my preference.
Branding on the device is minimal and visually appealing. There are no unusual logos, abstract designs, or astrological symbols. Just a simple NEXA logo along with the flavor name printed above it. This is offset a little by the wild circuit board display, but as I mentioned earlier, this can be turned off.
The device feels solid and well-constructed, especially considering that I had to partially assemble it myself. The pod fits securely, so there’s no concern about it popping out. Overall, I’m happy with the design and build quality of the ULTRA 2.
Features
Like its predecessor, the NEXA Ultra II is one of the highest puff count disposables available on the market. The NEXA 50000 was designed with two separate components: the battery and the tank, which you had to connect upon opening the box. This design was beneficial as it minimized the risk of leaks before you even got to use the device, ensuring that the e-liquid remained untouched by the cotton wick.
In contrast, the NEXA Ultra II comes almost fully assembled but still achieves the same goals; the e-juice pod still ships disconnected, but you only need to press and click it into the battery.
NEXA has retained the same short wick that is visible through the tank, but they’ve made a significant improvement by moving the cotton wick closer to the bottom of the tank. This change ensures that the wick maintains contact with the e-liquid until the very last puff, allowing all the e-juice in the tank to be easily wicked, and alleviating any concerns about dry hits.
Additionally, similar to the previous model, the NEXA Ultra 2 offers two modes: normal and turbo. In turbo mode, you can expect to reach up to 30,000 puffs, while in normal mode, you can achieve up to 50,000 puffs.
Airflow
The airflow adjustment slider has not changed from the original, and is located at the bottom of the device. When the airflow is fully opened, you can achieve an excellent mouth-to-lung draw. Closing the slider will restrict the draw down to a tighter MTL.
I found it somewhat challenging to fine-tune the adjustment slider because it is quite small and has limited movement. But, for me at least, the device delivered the best flavor with the airflow wide open, and I rather like the draw, so I didn’t have to mess with the airflow much anyway.
Battery Life & Charging
The battery in the NEXA Ultra 2 has been upgraded from 800mAh to 900mAh. While it’s not a significant increase in capacity, it provides enough additional battery power to extend the time between charges, if only by a little.
I was able to use the ULTRA 2 for two full days before needing to recharge. The charging port is located on the side of the device, allowing you to stand it upright while it charges.
You can expect the NEXA Ultra II to take about an hour to recharge from 0% battery. Additionally, the device supports pass-through charging, so you won’t need a backup device as it can be used while it recharges.
Flavors
These are the fifteen flavors available for the NEXA Ultra II. Many of the flavors are similar to the Ultra 50000, but with a few new additions. These flavors are:
- Black Cherry
- Blue Razz Ice
- Blueberry Watermelon
- BP
- Fcuking Fab
- Georgia Peace Ice
- Lemon Frozen
- Miami Mint
- Sour Apple Ice
- Strawberry
- Strawberry Banana
- Strawberry Ice
- Strawberry Mango
- Watermelon Ice
- White Gummy
I’m going to describe how three of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor, this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.
Fcuking Fab
Although the name is amusing, this flavor consistently delivers a satisfying experience. The tropical notes are incredibly sweet and immediately engage your taste buds with each draw. The mango and pineapple flavors are very vibrant, and the taste lingers even after you exhale, with a pleasant sweetness that emerges at the end.
Blue Razz Ice
You really can’t go wrong with a Blue Razz Ice flavor. It’s likely the most popular flavor in any lineup, and for good reason. This flavor is perfect for daily vaping. While the ice component in this device might not be very strong, the Blue Razz itself truly stands out. It’s sweet but to a point, and fruity as well.
Watermelon Ice
I didn’t enjoy this flavor as much as the others because I found it to be somewhat mild and lacking in strong flavor notes. However, it could be a great option for those who prefer something lighter. The ice effect is quite strong though, so if you like a vape that isn’t too sweet but that packs a decent cooling hit, check this flavor out.
How do they vape?
The NEXA Ultra II is an excellent choice for those looking to switch from smoking to vaping, as well as for newer vapers, but the 50mg/ml nicotine strength might be a bit high for vapers who are used to 20mg/ml. I recommend starting on the normal mode if you’re not accustomed to high nicotine levels and seeing if this works for you.
Turbo mode is ideal if you find the draw to be a bit too light as it really takes the strength of the draw up a notch. I really enjoyed the dense draw and the strong throat hit that it provides. While it’s not a mode I used all the time, I appreciated having the option to switch between the two settings.
Blue Razz Ice is the flavor that I used the most for this review and it’s nearly out of ejuice. But even now, it tastes just as good as it did on the first day I opened it, with no leaking or drop off in performance.
Verdict
