The bottom line

Anyone looking for a really high puff count disposable should be checking out the RAZ DC25000. Even though you can only get the advertised 25000 puffs by using it only in ‘Normal’ mode, most vapers will be satisfied by the strength of the draw. Those who do want to use the ‘Boost’ mode will get less puffs but even if you exclusively use Boost mode, you’ll still get 15,000 puffs out of each device.

The flavors that RAZ has come out with are all the more reason to check these out. I loved the five flavors that I tried and, if you like fruit flavors that aren’t too sweet, then you will too. These are a real bargain at around $16.00 and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

The only thing that I would really change on the RAZ DC25000 is the UI. Some percentage numbers for the ejuice and battery indicators would make more sense, as would making those indicators larger. Otherwise, really solid disposable vape overall.

RAZ is a disposable vaping brand that is designed in the USA and which is quickly gaining mainstream popularity with vapers. They only offer two disposables right now which are their TN9000 and DC25000; the latter is what I’ll be reviewing today.

The RAZ DC25000 has some pretty good look specs: up to 25000 puffs, an 800mAh battery that recharges with Type-C charging, a large display, and two different output modes. It also has adjustable airflow.

Is the RAZ DC25000 a disposable vape to add into your rotation or should you skip on this new and emerging brand? You’ll find out in this review.

  • Size: 96mm x 51.6mm x 29mm
  • 800mAh Rechargeable battery
  • Type-C Charging
  • 2 Output settings: Normal, Boost
  • Up to 25,000 Puffs (Normal mode)
  • 5% (50mg) Nicotine content
  • Draw activated
  • MTL draw
  • 15 Flavor options

Design & Build Quality

  • RAZ DC25000 Disposables - 3

The RAZ DC25000 is a really good looking disposable, at least in my opinion. Each flavor has a clear shell over a solid color inner-shell and I love how it looks. The colors are very vibrant though so these are sure to stand out and draw attention if you pull one out around others.

The shape is also something that I like. The sides and edges are rounded and this makes the RAZ DC25000 extremely comfortable to hold. It fits nicely in my hand and feels natural to grip – no sharp edges digging into my palm.

It being so comfortable to hold is surprising considering the size. At 96mm tall, 51.6mm wide and 29mm deep, the dimensions are just ever so slightly bigger than what I’m used to.  There’s a trend of disposable vapes getting larger and larger as they hold more and more ejuice and offer more and more puffs and the RAZ DC25000 upholds this trend. It’s not a massive behemoth of a device by any means but it’s certainly not as small as disposable vapes of the past.

Something that I found interesting is that the back features a grip made of genuine leather. It has a wavy pattern engraved into it and it adds some flair to the design. It also makes the RAZ DC25000 less slippery which is good considering how sleek it is.

Around the front is a large 1.75” display that is recessed under a black panel. It’s the feature that stands out the most because it’s so massive and it takes up a good portion of the front of the device. It’s a nice screen and more than bright enough but I like that it can also be dimmed by holding the button; useful for when you’re vaping in darker rooms.

Branding isn’t too obtrusive and consists of a RAZ logo next to the screen and a RAZ logo that is on the leather grip.

The mouthpiece, like the outer shell, is made of a clear plastic and it’s a medium size drip tip. It’s curved like a duck bill and comfortable to use. The hole for the mouthpiece is a medium bore which is perfect for MTL vaping but dust and pocket lint sometimes get trapped so keep that in mind.

The button on the side of the device is used for changing the output mode between normal and boost, as well as for changing the screen brightness. Unfortunately, there’s no button firing and the RAZ DC25000 is solely draw-activated.

The airflow control is on the bottom and it’s pretty much a two-mode adjustment. There’s three airflow holes when the airflow is open and one of these airflow holes gets closed off when you switch the airflow to the second mode. Both modes provide a MTL draw, however one is slightly tighter than the other.

Features

  • RAZ DC25000 Disposables - 16

If you’re looking at the RAZ DC25000 then you’re likely interested in a high-puff count disposable and that’s exactly what this is. However, you should note that the 25,000 puffs that are advertised is only attainable if you use it exclusively in ‘Normal’ mode. If you use ‘Boost’ mode, which provides a stronger draw, the puff count is reduced to 15,000.

Normal mode outputs 12W and Boost mode outputs 24W. It’s quite a big difference and you can really notice it when you vape. Personally, I think that 24W is a bit much for a 5% disposable and so I tended to keep it set on Normal mode.

The 1.75” display is quite nice but all of that screen space could have been used to provide more detailed information than it does. The screen displays your mode (Normal or Boost), your battery and ejuice levels, a fire animation (which takes up quite a bit of space on the screen), the screen brightness mode (day or night), and the output wattage.

The readouts for the battery and ejuice levels are circles which each consist of six sections. As the battery/ejuice depletes, so do the bars. The lack of an exact percentage readout is frustrating, especially since the RAZ DC25000 uses six bars instead of four or five for the readout. This means that each bar is equal to 16.66% – why? Four or five bars, twenty-five or twenty percent, would have made a lot more sense and been easier to decipher at a glance.

A great feature is that you can adjust the brightness of the screen by holding the button. This changes between day mode (bright) and night mode (dim) – Handy for when you’re in a dark room.

Flavors

RAZ DC25000 Disposables - 2

As of the time of writing this review there are fifteen flavors that you can get for the RAZ DC25000. These flavors are, not surprisingly, mostly fruit options:

  • Strawberry Orange Tang
  • Sour Watermelon Peach
  • Blueberry Watermelon
  • Strawberry Burst
  • Iced Blue Dragon
  • Georgia Peach
  • Blue Raz Ice
  • Cherry Strapple
  • Miami Mint
  • Night Crawler
  • Watermelon Ice
  • Wintergreen
  • Raspberry Limeade
  • Sour Apple Watermelon
  • Bangin Sour Berries

I’ve been using five of these flavors for the past two weeks and I’m going to describe how these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Cherry Strapple

This flavor is a blend of sweet cherries and crisp apples. I like it a lot because it’s a mix of the two fruit flavors where you kind of taste each flavor at the same time. There’s a bit more of the cherry flavor on the inhale and a bit more of the apple flavor on the exhale but they’re mixed for the most part. This flavor is of medium sweetness and it’s one of my favorites for the DC25000.

Strawberry Orange Tang

Strawberries aren’t very strong here compared to the orange flavor. I only taste the strawberry flavor right at the end of the exhale. Otherwise, it’s a tangy orange flavor that is good on its own but more like a sweet orange drink than orange juice.

Sour Watermelon Peach

From the inhale I taste watermelon, followed by a balanced peach. Neither flavor is very sweet, pretty mild overall, but tasty nonetheless. I’m not getting the ‘sour’ aspect from this flavor but I don’t think that this makes it any less good.

Bangin Sour Berries

This flavor might as well have been named Blue Razz because that’s what it tastes like to me. There’s a bit more tartness than your typical blue razz flavor though. The candied berry flavor is great and complete with just enough sweetness to make it a good all day vape.

Night Crawler

Can the name get any more ambiguous? Well I’ll clear it up right now; Night Crawler is a tart, sweet, and fruity candy flavor. It almost tastes like the white, mystery AirHeads candy. It’s hard to pick out the exact flavors but it’s great if you like a sweeter vape.

How do they vape?

RAZ DC25000 Disposables - 5

The RAZ DC25000 is only available in 5% nicotine strength but the two power levels open this vape up to a wide range of vapers. 12W is a nice, low wattage and even if you’re not used to 50mg/ml strength, you might still get by with vaping on these on the Normal output. Now, if this doesn’t feel strong enough for you then you can always go up to the 24W Boost output which really has a kick to it.

As someone who has developed quite a nicotine tolerance, I still preferred to use the RAZ DC25000 on the Normal output and rarely used the Boost mode. It’s a chill vape at 12W but still satisfying to use, whereas the 24W output felt overpowered and too strong to use consistently. A couple of draws on boost here and there was fine but I couldn’t use it every time.

The flavors are what really make the RAZ DC25000 stand out. They’re all fruit flavors, sure, but there are a lot of combinations that I haven’t seen before. They’re also not extremely sweet and bring enough sweetness to be enjoyable while still remaining usable as all day vapes. I couldn’t put down some of the flavors and that’s a big compliment coming from someone who has tried hundreds of flavors from dozens of brands.

Both of the airflow settings provide a tight mouth-to-lung draw but one is slightly tighter than the other. Mouth to lung vapers will like the airflow and even though it’s not as adjustable as a slider, it gives you the option of a slightly tighter or a slightly looser MTL draw which is better than no adjustment at all.

Verdict
