NEW PUFFMI DURA 9000 Review: Pocket-Friendly Power

Puffmi’s DURA 9000 disposables are really nice. The design is boxy yet rounded, and they’re a nice, small size. Each device measures 84mm in height, 50mm in width, and 21mm in thickness, so they’re significantly smaller and more compact than most other disposables.

When I hold the DURA 9000, it feels great in my hand and has a comfortable grip. While it’s slightly too large to completely conceal, Puffmi has achieved a good balance between offering enough puffs and having a pocket-friendly size. Weighing in at 73g, it’s rather lightweight, so it’s barely noticeable in my pocket.

The Dura 9000 features a unique crocodile skin design with a soft-touch coating, providing extra grip. I like how the color of the crocodile skin panels matches the overall color of the device. Along with rounded edges, this makes the DURA 9000 comfortable for extended use.

The device’s bottom, sides, top, and mouthpiece are finished in two layers: a solid plastic base and a clear plastic layer on top. The color of the soft-touch finish panels and the plastic bezel gives you a hint about the flavor of the device. For example, Watermelon Ice is red, Cool Mint is green, and Blueberry Ice is blue.

The mouthpiece is well-designed, balancing size and a comfortable shape. It has a nice slope and an oval top that feels good on my lips.

Printing on the DURA 9000 is minimal, with all necessary information located on the side. Here, you will find a small Puffmi logo along with the device name (DURA 9000) and the flavor.

The DURA 9000 features a simple, easy-to-read display that shows the remaining e-juice and battery level using four dots for each. The bright LEDs are easy to see, and I think the way they are integrated into the front of the device gives it a clean and premium look. This display genuinely feels like a key design element rather than an afterthought.

While the DURA 9000 doesn’t have an advanced full-color display, the simple interface saves battery life over a larger, more complex screen, resulting in longer usage between charges.

Lastly, at the bottom of the DURA 9000, you will find an airflow inlet and a Type-C charging port.

Features

I briefly mentioned the e-liquid and battery life display in the previous section, but I want to revisit this topic because it’s one of the standout features of the DURA 9000.

Each time you take a puff, the display lights up to show two symbols: a lightning bolt for the battery indicator and a droplet for the e-juice level indicator. Beneath each of these symbols, there are four dots.

When all four dots are lit up for both indicators, it means you have between 75% and 100% battery life and e-juice level. As you vape, you’ll notice the indicators decrease, with each dot representing 25% of the battery charge or e-juice level. Here’s how the indicators work:

As you vape, you’ll first notice the battery life indicators decreasing. After the first couple of recharges, you’ll see the first e-liquid level indicator disappear.

While this isn’t an actual display—it’s really just LEDs shining through cutouts in the plastic—it effectively lets you know when your battery and e-liquid are running low. This feature works well and has proven to be reliable with all the devices and flavors I’ve tried.

Another feature of the DURA 9000 is its e-liquid capacity and puff count. Each device comes with 20ml of e-liquid and a 650mAh rechargeable battery, allowing for approximately 9000 puffs per device. This isn’t a lot of puffs by 2025 standards, but the small size and lightweight make it a device still worth considering if you’re after a portable device that still delivers a decent amount of puffs.

The DURA 9000 is available in either 20mg or 50mg/ml nicotine strength. This makes them compliant with TPD regulations in the UK, while still being suitable for higher-nicotine vapers in the USA and other regions.

Like other disposables, the DURA 9000 is easy to use. You simply draw on the device to activate it. There are no buttons to push or settings to adjust.

Depending on your vaping habits, you can expect to use a single charge for 2-3 days (longer if you don’t vape frequently). 

Flavors

What good is a disposable vape without a variety of flavors to choose from? Puffmi clearly understands this, as they offer over 30 different flavors for the DURA 9000.

The flavor options for the DURA 9000 include a tobacco flavor, a cola flavor, fruit mixes, fruit and ice combinations, as well as mint flavors. It’s a tasty-looking lineup, and you can tell that thought was put into the choices. The flavors for the DURA 9000 are:

I’m going to describe how seven of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor, this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Raspberry Grapefruit

Wow! This is an excellent option for those who love fruity flavors. The raspberry taste is so natural and not overly sweet. As soon as you take a draw, you are hit with a burst of raspberry flavor. Then, as the taste settles on your tongue and you exhale, the grapefruit comes in and delivers another strong wave of flavor. This was one of my favorites among the seven flavors I tried. I highly recommend trying this one!

Sour Apple Ice

This was the only flavor of the bunch that I didn’t fall in love with. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sour apple flavor that was used. While this may just be a personal opinion, I found it to be a bit too unnatural for my taste. Although the ice was a nice addition, the overall flavor just didn’t resonate with me.

Lemon Lime

If you enjoy sweet and sour flavors, this one has been specially crafted for you. The combination of lemon and lime is absolutely delicious, providing an explosion of flavor with each puff that lingers long after you exhale. While this flavor isn’t a typical choice, I found myself vaping it far more often than I anticipated. Its sweetness is incredibly addictive.

Cherry Lemon

This is such an interesting combination! Puffmi did an excellent job creating this lineup of flavors, with each one tasting better than the last. In this particular flavor, cherry takes center stage while lemon serves as a supportive note. The lemon isn’t as noticeable at first, but as the flavor settles on your tongue, it delivers a surprising kick of sourness that you weren’t expecting. I would rate this flavor a perfect 10/10!

Cool Mint

This mint flavor isn’t too strong with the cooling, and balances a nice sweet flavor with the menthol. It leaves your mouth feeling cool and refreshed, but doesn’t give me a brain freeze. The sweet component of this flavor is nicely done and perfectly balanced with the cooling. This is just a great mint flavor for vapers who like a sweet mint that isn’t going to freeze your mouth out.

Quad Berry Ice

This tastes a lot like a blue razz flavor to me. Blue raspberry is the strongest flavor here, but I think I taste subtle notes of blueberry. I don’t taste any other berries, and since there’s no flavor description on Puffmi’s website or elsewhere, I couldn’t tell you what other berries are supposed to be in this flavor. It is good, though, with the ice being light and complementing the blue razz without overpowering the whole flavor.

Grape Honeydew Melon

Grape Honeydew Melon has a natural sweetness that you can vape on all day long without it becoming sickening. Honeydew is at the helm of this flavor, with the grape flavor being a nice addition that is weaker in comparison. I don’t taste the grape as much, but the subtle notes strengthen and add to the honeydew flavor.

How do they vape?

Puffmi’s DURA 9000 disposables boast decent specifications and features, but how do they perform in real-world usage? In my experience with these devices, I’ve had very few issues to report. They have been consistently reliable throughout my testing, with no hiccups or problems at all.

The vaping experience is great. Each one delivers a tight MTL draw that, although I could have done with it being a bit looser, provides a nice draw with good and full flavor. I think that the draw may be a bit tighter than some vapers will like though as it’s a very tight draw and it does require a bit of lung strength to get them going.

The flavors that I tried are well done and seem to be expertly crafted. I believe Puffmi’s statement that they had local testing and flavorists refining the flavors because they taste like they were tested and tweaked to perfection. After the amount of devices and disposables that I’ve tried, it’s easy to tell when a flavor has just been thrown together, but that’s not the case with the flavor lineup for the DURA 9000.

The 2% nicotine strength devices that I’ve been using are strong and give a heavy draw. The mesh coil inside these does a great job of providing warm vapor and the full flavor of the eliquid inside.

Throughout my use, the e-liquid and battery life indicators have been accurate and consistent across the different flavor devices.

Verdict

I want to give a big nod of approval to the Puffmi DURA 9000. This device contains a good 20ml of e-juice, but it’s still pocket-friendly. While a puff count of 9000 isn’t the highest on the market, the DURA 9000 lasts a long time, and you can easily get around 10 days of use from each device.

The display screen is accurate and makes keeping track of your battery life and ejuice levels a breeze. There’s nothing worse than your vape dying on you while you’re out, so these give you a way to avoid that from happening.

Additionally, the indicators let you know when it’s time to purchase a new disposable. While other devices have similar indicators and even full-blown displays, I think that the way Puffmi integrated it into the DURA 9000 is a winner. The design is aesthetically pleasing, accurate, and, most importantly, it doesn’t drain your battery life.

Flavors are always a big part of any disposable, and the DURA 9000 has some great options. Of the flavors that I tried, I would recommend them all. With 24 other flavors available, I’m sure there are some hidden gems among them. With all seven of the flavors I tried being good, I can’t imagine that their other ones are any worse, especially when they’ve been refined by flavorists and tested by real vapers.
