The bottom line
Out of all of NEXA’s vapes that I’ve tried, I think that the NEXA FLEX might be my new favorite. While I really liked the NEXA PIX, I think being able to reuse the battery and quickly swap flavors makes the NEXA FLEX the better disposable vape.
The FLEX still does everything right, providing good flavor, a satisfying draw, and being easy to use. It’s also more environmentally friendly and offers more adjustability with the Cool pods and ice level adjustment.
The inclusion of a fill port really makes me think that NEXA might be gearing up to release their own e-juice refills. That would take the NEXA FLEX from a partially disposable device to a fully reusable one, and that would be really cool to see. But take this with a grain of salt, as I’m just guessing and none of this is based on information from NEXA.
With its quick-swapping pods, reusable battery, mode adjustment, airflow adjustment, and ice level adjustment, the NEXA FLEX really does it all for a disposable vape. Plus, up to 40,000 puffs from each e-juice pod is not bad at all.
If you’re looking for a new disposable vape to try, especially one that allows you to reuse the battery, I can’t recommend the NEXA FLEX enough. For now, I’m going to continue vaping on these for as long as I can—they’re really that good.

Product Overview
If you’ve been looking at disposable vapes lately, chances are that you’ve seen some of NEXA’s devices. The brand has exploded in popularity ever since the release of its first disposable product in early 2024. Since then, NEXA has released a steady stream of great devices like the NEXA ULTRA 50000 and NEXA PIX, both of which I highly recommend checking out!
I’ll be reviewing the NEXA FLEX today, one of their latest releases. It’s very similar to the NEXA ULTRA 50000, but with one key advantage: the e-juice pod attaches to the device magnetically, allowing you to quickly swap flavors and reuse the battery.
There are two types of pods available: visible and cool pods. The visible pods allow you to see just how much e-juice you have left, while the cool pods feature four levels of ice adjustment, giving you full control over just how icy you want your draw. There are twelve visible pod flavors and six cool pod flavors available at launch.
The FLEX also features two vaping modes: normal and turbo. The visible pod can deliver up to 40K puffs in normal mode and up to 25K puffs in turbo mode. The Cool pod can deliver up to 30K puffs in normal mode and up to 18K puffs in turbo mode.
Finally, the FLEX has a 1200mAh battery which recharges with Type-C charging, adjustable airflow, and a pretty cool display (which I’ll get into in more detail in the review).

Getting Started

The NEXA FLEX comes packaged a little differently than other disposable vapes. When you pull it out of the box, you’ll see that there are two pieces: the battery and the e-juice tank. Seems simple enough, right? But before you attach them together, you have to do a few things first.
First, you’ll want to remove all of the labels and protective stickers from the battery and e-juice tank. Next, and this is the important step, you have to push the e-juice tank together.
The e-juice tank comes with the top portion not fully connected to the bottom portion. All you have to do is push down on the top of the tank while holding the bottom of the tank, and the two portions will lock together.
Once you’ve done this, it’s simply a matter of attaching the battery to the tank, which is easy enough because they go together magnetically. Now the NEXA FLEX is ready to use.
Design & Build Quality
The FLEX is a rather big disposable vape, but its curved sides and rounded corners make it feel smaller than it is. It’s 99.5mm tall, 52mm wide, and 28.5mm thick, which are nearly the same dimensions as the NEXA ULTRA 50000. However, due to the two-piece design, it weighs a noticeable 104g.
As a whole, the NEXA FLEX feels like a solid and well-made product. The two pieces, e-juice tank and battery, snap together magnetically with a satisfying ‘clack’, and the magnets that hold them together are very strong.
I like how the e-juice tank fits inside the battery ever so slightly, allowing the sides of the battery to wrap around the tank. When the two pieces are attached together, this gives the device a cohesive look, making it look and feel like a single, solid device.
The big and obvious advantage of the magnetically attaching pods is that the battery can be reused. This reduces e-waste, which is great for the environment. But another advantage is that flavors can be swapped on the fly, or multiple batteries can be kept charged and swapped out, so you never have downtime.

The clear design on the ‘visible’ e-juice tank is a great feature, and it’s one that NEXA has used since the original NEXA ULTRA. This removes the need for an e-juice indicator, as you can directly see how much e-juice is left at a glance.
However, the ‘Cool’ pods are not clear and have the e-juice completely concealed inside the plastic casing. I’m not sure why NEXA didn’t just make these clear as well, as the lack of an e-juice indicator makes it a complete guessing game as to when the e-juice is running low.
Like the NEXA ULTRA and NEXA PIX, the FLEX has the same technology themed, circuit board display. Each time you take a draw or change the mode, the device lights up with chips, circuits, and other techy looking icons that dance around. A chip socket icon also lights up around the battery percentage, which is displayed in large font. If this lighting isn’t your style, it can be turned off altogether.
Features

The NEXA FLEX has two different output modes: normal and turbo, and the difference between the two is straightforward. Normal mode provides a less intense, less powerful draw, while turbo mode is stronger and produces more vapor. Switching between the two modes is as simple as pressing the button on the lower half of the FLEX.
This button can also be held for three seconds, which will turn off the tech-themed lighting, leaving only the mode and battery percentage illuminated.
There’s another button on the NEXA FLEX battery, located near the top of the device. This button is for changing the coolness level (0-3) when using the Cool pods. If pressed when using one of the regular, visible pods, the button will wake up the screen, but otherwise does nothing.
Depending on which pod type and mode you use, the puffs you’ll get will differ. With the visible pod, the FLEX is rated for 40,000 puffs if used exclusively in normal mode and for 25,000 puffs if used exclusively in turbo mode. Using a mix of the two modes will get you somewhere between these two figures. The cool pod gets slightly fewer puffs, rated for 30,000 puffs if used exclusively in normal mode and for 18,000 puffs if used exclusively in turbo mode.

Another feature of the FLEX, but one which I’m not sure is intended, is that the pods can be refilled. There’s a rubber stopper on the connection side of the e-juice pods, which can be easily removed. From here, it’s only a matter of filling the tank with your preferred nicotine salt ejuice. While I haven’t tried this myself to see how it vapes, it’s at least possible if this is something you want to try.
My best guess for why this fill port is included is that NEXA may be releasing its own e-juice refills in the future, which can be used to refill the pods. This would further reduce the environmental impact of these devices, which would be awesome.
The bottom of the e-juice pod has a built-in airflow slider, which allows the draw to be adjusted from a rather loose mouth-to-lung draw to a tight MTL draw. Setting it around the middle of the airflow was best for me, but definitely play around with the airflow until you find a setting you like. I think that most MTL vapers will be happy with the range of adjustment.
Flavors

The NEXA FLEX has eighteen flavors: twelve ‘visible’ pods and six ‘cool’ pods. The flavors are:
Visible pods
- Blue Razz Ice
- Strawberry Ice
- Strawberry Banana
- Watermelon Ice
- Dragon Melon
- Tobacco
- Fcuking FAB
- Pepper Mint
- Pink n Blue
- Clear
- Cherry Bomb
- Sour Apple Ice
Cool pods
- Blue Razz Ice
- Strawberry Ice
- Watermelon Ice
- Black Dragon
- Sour Apple Ice
- Pink n Blue
You’ll notice, as I did, that five of the cool pod flavors are also flavors for the visible pods. The difference is that the cool pods will allow you to adjust the coolness, while the flavors in the visible pods will not.
I’m going to describe how four of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor, it doesn’t mean you won’t like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.
Watermelon Ice (visible pod)
The watermelon flavor is bold but not overly sweet. The ice level is mild, rated about three out of five, meaning it provides a cooling effect without being overwhelmingly icy, and it has a noticeable aftertaste that lingers for a few seconds after exhaling. Unlike many watermelon flavors that are heavily candied, this one is more natural, offering a refreshing change.
Fcuking FAB (visible pod)
This is a pretty sweet candy flavor, with a little cirus in there too. It’s not sour, at least not to my tastes, and theres a bit of cooling here too. This is a very sweet flavor, but it’s also very good.
Blue Razz Ice (Cool pod)
This is a really great blue razz flavor. The blueberry and raspberry flavors are sweet but not nearly as sweet as Fcuking FAB. With the coolness set to 0, there’s just a tiny bit of cooling. But as it’s turned up, it gets more intense, culminating in a relatively mild-strong cooling effect at 3. It’s not as icy as I expected at level 3, and I’m sure true ice fans will feel the same.
Pink n Blue (Cool pod)
So, what does Pink n Blue taste like? A little bit of pink with a hint of blue, of course! I taste blueberries and lemonade, which makes for a pretty good combination surprisingly. The sweetness is about a 2 out of 5, but the coolness is much more intense than Blue Razz Ice, at about a 4 out of 5 when turned up to level 3 cooling.
How long do they last?

The 1200mAh battery on the NEXA FLEX is a big jump up from the 800mAh battery that, up until now, has been common in NEXA’s devices. As a result, battery life is very good, and I’ve been getting 3-4 days from a charge.
The lack of indicator notches on the visible pods and the hidden e-juice tank on the cool pods makes it hard to say exactly how much e-juice I’ve been using per charge, but about a quarter of the tank seems about right.
Charging takes an hour for a full charge, but even shorter charges are not bad. You can get 30% battery in just fifteen minutes, which will be enough for at least a day of use for most vapers.
How do they vape?

The way that the NEXA FLEX vapes reminds me a lot of the experience with the NEXA PIX, which I reviewed only a few months back. I even tried them side by side, and aside from a slight difference in airflow (the FLEX is a bit looser), they vape very much the same. If you have tried the PIX and like it, you’ll like the FLEX.
The draw from the FLEX is very smooth, especially considering that it’s a 50mg/ml disposable. It’s not harsh at all, but rather satisfying and nice overall, at least on normal mode.
The difference between normal and turbo mode is pretty drastic, so the mode makes a big difference to the draw. I found turbo to be a bit too strong, whereas normal mode felt perfect. If you find that the draw isn’t strong enough on normal, bumping it up to turbo will make the draw much more powerful.
The ability to adjust the ice level, which is a first for a NEXA device, works well. While it’s a shame that it’s only possible with the opaque Cool pods, I liked being able to add a little bit of coolness to my draw for a few puffs here and there.
Verdict
