The bottom line
The SP2S Touch has the potential to be the perfect device for new vapers or those wanting to make a simple switch from disposables to something more reusable. The design is great, the simple mode change system and lack of complex settings should suit those who want nothing more than a plug-n-play vape, and the cartridges seem to perform really well without issues like leaks or firing delays.
The main issue for me was the intensity of the cooling effect in most of the flavors I tested. While I can’t say whether every flavor has that same level of ice hit, I suspect that many will. Switching to the lowest power mode allows you to lessen the intensity somewhat, but it’s always there.
Personal preference will come into play a lot here, because if you like a sweeter or fruitier vape liquid, the cooling intensity could easily be too much. However, if you prefer a lot of ice in your vape juice, these certainly deliver it. For brand new vapers, coming from smoking tobacco, so much cooling might be off-putting.
So this pre-filled pod system might not be as easy to recommend as some others I have tried, but it definitely has its plus points. Thankfully, it is fairly cheap to buy, and so trying the device and the flavors out for yourself won’t be too much of a shock to your pocket if you think you’ll enjoy that intense ice hit.

Product Overview
The Touch is the latest pre-filled pod device from SP2S, and is seemingly aimed squarely at new vapers and those looking for a simple alternative to single-use disposables. As the name suggests, one of its most unique features is its touch controls, which allow users to switch between three different power modes.
The device uses 2.5ml cartridges, pre-filled with 20mg/ml e-liquid in several interesting flavors. These use ceramic coils, which should be capable of providing good flavor and consistent vapor. Powering the whole setup is a small 450mAh battery, which sounds a bit measly, but should be plenty for all-day vaping on what is a pretty low-power vape.
I have been testing the SP2S Touch and a range of its pre-filled cartridges for a couple of weeks to see what this MTL device and its touch controls are all about, and whether it deserves to be recommended as a beginner/disposable-replacement vape.

Design & Build Quality
The design of the SP2S Touch is pretty unique, at least in my experience. It is very slim and quite tall, looking almost like a traditional pen-style vape that has been flattened to 11mm thick in one direction. That’s about as thin as an iPhone.
Because the battery section is so slim, the e-liquid cartridges must be tall to provide sufficient space for the 2.5ml of juice. That means that almost a third of the device’s total length is the cartridge.
Being so slim and having a relatively small 450mAh battery means that the device is also extremely light, just 28g in fact. Several times over the first few days of testing, I found myself patting my pocket to check it was actually still in there.
Despite this, the Touch doesn’t feel (or look) cheap or flimsy. The body is made from aluminum alloy, which has been nicely shaped to produce a device with almost zero straight edges or sharp angles.
The main LEDs, which are very thin and run along almost half of the two edges, are bright and look great. The way the light pulses and moves is far more attractive than a simple LED dot would be. At the bottom of the device is a small black section. This is the touch-sensitive part of the vape that gives it its name, but more on that in a moment.
The SP2S Touch is available in six colors. I received the Blue version to test, but you can also choose from White, Pink, Gray, Silver, and Purple. Each features a small amount of very subtle branding, which doesn’t detract from the generally very classy look.
Features
This vape has been designed to be easy to use and beginner-friendly, so it understandably doesn’t throw a lot of complex features at the user. There is no adjustable airflow, no digital display, and no fire button. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t adjustable, thanks to that touch-sensitive section of the device that I mentioned earlier.
Tapping that section at the bottom of the device three times allows you to switch between power modes, while tapping five times will turn the device on and off. Those modes are Smooth, Classic, and Boost, and while the change from the lowest (Smooth) to the highest (Boost) is only a matter of a few watts, there is a noticeable change in the amount of vapor and intensity of flavor.
Each mode is denoted by a different LED color: Orange for Smooth, white for Classic, and multi-colored for Boost. Because the LEDs are quite prominent, it’s very easy to tell what mode is currently in use.
There are a couple of tiny airflow holes located near where the bottom of the cartridge sits, but they are so small that covering them makes very little difference to the draw.
The other main feature, if it can be called that, is the cartridges. These are pre-filled with 2.5ml of 20mg/ml and feature a ceramic coil. That isn’t unheard of in a pre-filled, non-reusable cartridge, but it certainly isn’t the norm. Ceramic coils tend to be much more efficient than metal coils, which helps this low-power device produce good and consistent flavors.
Flavors
I’m not entirely sure how many different flavors SP2S offers for the Touch device, as I just couldn’t find a definitive list anywhere. However, the flavors that I know exist, and the ones I was lucky enough to be sent for testing purposes, seem pretty interesting. The flavors that I know are available include: Grape, Arctic Still Water, Peach, Watermelon, Mojito, Arctic Coconut, Lychee, and Passionfruit.
Here’s what I thought about the flavors I got to try over the last couple of weeks, bearing in mind that these are my impressions and opinions. Just because I liked or disliked a flavor doesn’t mean that you will like or dislike it.
Grape
I like grape-flavored e-liquids more often than not, and there was no change here. This is an intensely fruity vape juice, and one that reminded me of drinking cartons of grape juice when I was a kid. As I found with every SP2S flavor I tasted, it has a very intense cooling hit, but not so intense that it ruins the grape flavor.
Peach
This is a nice flavor, or it probably would be if you liked peach in a vape juice (I don’t). That said, it does taste like peach rather than some sort of peach candy. Once again, it has an ice/cooling hit that is pretty intense, but the sweetness and juiciness of the peach do a lot to lessen the overall cooling effect.
Watermelon
Watermelon is a classic e-liquid flavor, but it is often mixed with other fruits. It is quite refreshing to find it being used as the star flavor of a juice. It is juicy, refreshing, and not overly sweet. This is likely because this flavor also has a lot of ice/cooling (even if the name doesn’t suggest that it does).
Arctic Still Water
Of the flavors I tasted, this was the one I liked the least. So much so that I didn’t even finish the pod. The ice effect is so intense that it overpowers everything else that might be in there (if indeed it does include any other flavors, I couldn’t tell). It is literally like swallowing an ice cube with every puff. If you love extremely intense cooling hits, great, but this was too much for me.
Performance
The SP2S Touch is undoubtedly a straight MTL device. It has nowhere near the airflow, power, or low-resistance options that would allow it to lean towards even RDL, let alone DL. That’s understandable because it is designed to suit users who have never vaped or who want to switch from using single-use disposables.
The draw is pretty tight and, even in Boost mode, it is hard to achieve large lungfuls of vapor. That isn’t a problem for MTL vapers, but it does mean that the device isn’t adaptable to an evolving vaping style, something that is common among new vapers. Flavor production, thanks to that ceramic coil, is very good when it isn’t overpowered by the ice/cooling effect that almost all flavor options seem to have.
The cartridges seem well-made (you get two in each refill pack) and fit into the battery slot tightly and securely. The coil fires quickly and efficiently with the slightest draw on the mouthpiece, and the 2.5ml of liquid inside each cartridge should easily provide the 300 puffs they promise for most MTL vapers.
At 450mAh, the battery is relatively small, but since so little power is drawn for each puff, this isn’t a significant issue. I found that a full charge generally lasted all day, and despite having what I suspect is only a 1A USB Type-C port, recharging that 450mAh takes only around 20-25 minutes.
