The bottom line

It would be remiss of me not to recommend the Magic Maze Pro as the most user-adjustable disposable on the market. Adjustable wattage is a game changer on these disposables as it allows you to tailor the experience to your current needs. Add in the adjustable airflow and you can truly get a tailored vaping experience from these disposables. The Magic Maze Pro is as close to a pod vape as you can get without having to do any refilling yourself.

Since these are filled with ejuice by Pod Juice, it’s not surprising that the flavors are expertly made, flavorful, and enjoyable. I’ve been seeing a few of these collaborations between manufacturers and ejuice brands and I can’t wait to see what else comes out in the future.

With its adjustability, good battery life, and high puff count, the Magic Maze Pro is a great choice for beginner or experienced vapers alike. I’m seeing it for sale for $14.99 at launch, so it’s no doubt a great value for everything that it offers. Recommended.

As the disposable brand of well-known vaping company OXVA, OXBAR is well-equipped to make a mark in the vaping world. They currently offer nine devices in varying sizes and puff count ratings.

Their latest release, the Magic Maze Pro, is a collaboration with popular e-juice brand Pod Juice. It offers up to 10,000 puffs per device and features not only adjustable airflow, but adjustable wattage as well—a rare feature for a disposable device.

Inside of the Magic Maze Pro is a 1.0Ω mesh coil. It also features a small display screen that tracks your wattage output, battery charge level, and remaining ejuice. The Magic Maze Pro is rechargeable with Type-C charging.

Is the Magic Maze Pro a “must-try” disposable vape, or just another device that you should pass on? Read on to find out.

These disposables were sent to me directly by OXBAR for the purpose of this review. However, this does not affect my thoughts or opinions in any way.

Design & Build Quality

  • OXBAR Pod Juice Magic Maze Pro Disposables - 5

The Magic Maze Pro is a boxy device. Each one is a large rectangular shape, with rounded off edges for comfort. It’s a medium-sized disposable, coming in at 87mm tall, 50mm wide, and 22mm thick. While it’s not the smallest disposable on the market, the fact that it packs 10,000 puffs and is still relatively compact is a plus.

In addition to the size, the Magic Maze Pro has noticeable weight to it and comes in at 74g fresh out of the box. It doesn’t feel heavy per se, but rather the weight lends a feeling of solidness to the plastic body.

Taking into account the size and weight, these are best used one at a time or at the most, in pairs. I can comfortably carry two devices in my pocket when I go on trips out of the house but any more than that and they really crowd up my pocket.

The overall design is unique and I think that it’s attractive. However, I can see it being loved by some and hated by others. It’s a two part design with a decorative layer featuring an embossed square pattern and a clear plastic case on top. The clear plastic also forms the mouthpiece and a lanyard anchor spot (each device includes a free OXBAR lanyard).

This clear plastic case has proven to be pretty durable but it still suffers the same downsides as any clear plastic, those being scratches and small scuffs. It’s hard to see the scratches unless you look closely though and since this is a disposable device after all, you won’t have to live with scratched up device for too long.

The clear case only takes up ¾ of the body, with the bottom quarter featuring a red plastic band. This is where you’ll find the small but useful black and white display which relays your ejuice and battery levels, as well as a button which can be used for adjusting the wattage.

Branding is large and in-your-face with the Magic Maze Pro. The front of each device has a large OXBAR logo and the flavor. However, depending on which flavor you get it will either say “PRO” and have a square Magic Maze logo, or have a large Pod Juice logo. Finally, on the bottom of the device there is an airflow adjustment slider, a white LED, and a Type-C charging port. The slider feels firm and features ridges to make adjustments easier.

Features

OXBAR Pod Juice Magic Maze Pro Disposables - 12

The Magic Maze Pro is perhaps the most feature-rich disposable vape that I’ve used and maybe even the most feature-rich disposable on the market. It features adjustable airflow, which isn’t too uncommon these days, but it also features adjustable wattage which is something that very few disposables offer. This makes the Magic Maze Pro very user customizable—something that you don’t typically get with a disposable device.

I’ll get the ‘regular’ features out of the way first. The Magic Maze Pro is a high-puff-count disposable that offers 10,000 puffs per device. It’s designed to be used for a week or more at a time before being replaced when all of the ejuice finally runs out.

In order to achieve the 10,000 puffs you’re going to need to recharge it a few times. In my experience, a full charge will deplete the total ejuice by around 30%. A full charge lasts for 2-3 days of heavy vaping, so battery life from the 900mAh battery is pretty good too.

Inside of these devices is a 1.0Ω coil that works from 11-15W depending on what you set the wattage to. At the moment, the Magic Maze Pro is only available in 50mg/ml nicotine strength.

Now, on to the juicy features. We’ll start off with the airflow control. The slider is located on the bottom of the device and allows you to set the airflow from a restricted direct lung draw, down to a tight MTL draw. This will cover the needs of the majority of disposable vapers. The slider is stiff enough that it allows for fine adjustments so you can really dial in the perfect airflow.

The wattage is similarly customizable to your preference. If you press the button below the screen, the screen will briefly display your wattage, followed by your ejuice level, and then finally your battery charge level. If you press the button again while the wattage is displayed, you can adjust the output from 11-15W.

The screen is quite small and it’s in black and white so it’s not as fancy as some other disposables with large, full-color displays. However, it serves its purpose of allowing you to adjust the wattage, as well as relaying the battery and ejuice levels, albeit in a simple manner.

Flavors

OXBAR Pod Juice Magic Maze Pro Disposables - 2

There are 15 flavors available for the Magic Maze Pro and they aren’t just any homebrewed flavors either. For the Magic Maze Pro, OXBAR teamed up with Pod Juice, an ejuice brand that is well-known for their unique and excellent fruit mixes. I’ve always liked Pod Juice’s ejuices myself. In fact, they’re one of my go-to brands for nic salts that I use in my pod vapes so you can imagine my delight when I was asked to review these disposables.

The flavor options for the Magic Maze Pro consist of five candy flavors, one mint flavor, one drink flavor, and eight fruit flavors. Two of these fruit flavors are “ice” flavors. There’s quite a bit of variety with the flavors so there’s a good chance that you will find an option that you like.

The fifteen available flavors are:

  • Tiff Jewel Mint
  • Fruity Pebz
  • Watermelon Skittlz
  • Bubble Melon
  • Pink Burst Chew
  • Blue Razz
  • Strawberry Kiwi Ice
  • Splash Bros Lemonade
  • Blueberry Strawberry Dragon Fruit
  • Watermelon Remix Ice
  • Sakura Grape
  • Razz Pineapple
  • Rainbow Blast
  • Fruit Paradise
  • Strawberry Watermelon

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Strawberry Kiwi Ice

Where a lot of strawberry kiwi flavors will have kiwi as a really subtle flavor that is hard to taste, the kiwi here is strong, bold, and magnificent. There aren’t enough kiwi flavors out there, so having a bold kiwi taste from this vape is awesome. It doesn’t diminish the strawberry flavor at all either and I still taste powerful strawberry notes that go hand in hand with kiwi and a light bit of cooling for an all-around delicious, fruity vape.

Watermelon Remix Ice

If you’ve had a “Lush Ice” flavor before then you’ll find OXBAR & Pod Juice’s Watermelon Ice to be familiar. The watermelon flavor tastes juicy and like there’s a light hint of bubble gum, along with a healthy blast of cooling to really seal the entire flavor.

Fruity Pebz

I was expecting this flavor to have a stronger ‘cereal’ profile but it’s mostly a full-on mix of very sweet fruit flavors. I only taste a very faint aftertaste of cereal, which is not what I would expect from a flavor with this name, but it’s still remarkably good. This flavor is much sweeter than the other flavors on offer from OXBAR and I even taste a bit of cooling. A good flavor overall but cereal lovers will want something that is more bold.

Razz Pineapple

Pineapple hits you like a ton of bricks in this flavor. It’s very tangy but also very sweet and undeniably the flavor profile of pineapple. The raspberry component of this flavor shines through on the exhale and in the aftertaste and it’s not nearly as strong as the pineapple component. Very good tropical tasting flavor all around.

Watermelon Skittlz

Although not as candy-like in flavor as I would have liked, this disposable is still very enjoyable and I’ve been using it a lot during my testing. It doesn’t have as natural a flavor profile as Watermelon Remix Ice and it tastes more artificial but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I like how this flavor tastes, with pleasant watermelon and a little bit of a candy spin.

How do they vape?

OXBAR Pod Juice Magic Maze Pro Disposables - 4

Because these disposables give you the option of adjusting both the airflow and the wattage, you’re better able to tailor the experience to just how you want it. In my case, I found that setting the wattage output to 12 or 13W provided the best combination of a powerful draw, warm vapor, and good flavor, but without the 50mg/ml nicotine strength ejuice being too overwhelming to vape on consistently.

They’re also really smooth and flavorful; no doubt a direct result of being filled with ejuice made by Pod Juice. As I mentioned earlier, I regularly use Pod Vape’s ejuices in my pod devices and so having them in disposable form feels like I had my prayers answered.

These ejuices may have been specifically formulated for use in these disposables, maybe not, I’m not sure. But in any case, they vape really well in the OXBAR Magic Maze Pro and feel like they are meant to be in here. It’s an experience that is similar to other disposables on the market, just with the added bonus of being able to adjust the wattage and airflow to your liking.

Although it’s a small wattage range of 11-15W, this gave me plenty of room to adjust the wattage for how I was feeling at the time. Although I usually set the wattage to 12-13W, sometimes I would turn it down to the minimum 11W if I felt like I was vaping too much or turn it up to 15W for a quick, strong draw. That’s the benefit of adjustable wattage and I took full advantage of it with this device, just as I would with a pod vape.

For a restricted direct lung draw, the airflow can be fully opened up. If you prefer a mouth to lung draw, you can close the airflow down. The airflow slider is firm and stays in place, so you can also set it to anywhere in between RDL and MTL to dial in the draw. For me, leaving the airflow slightly open provided a nice MTL draw that I found perfect.

I’ve been using five of these at a time for the last few weeks, so it’s been impossible to keep an accurate count of puffs. However, judging based on how long the battery life lasts and by the fact that I vape nearly non-stop during the day, I think it’s safe to say that I achieved at least close to the 10,000 puff count rating on the device that I used the most, Razz Pineapple. That device is dead as can be but I got my worth out of it, that’s for sure!

Verdict

It would be remiss of me not to recommend the Magic Maze Pro as the most user-adjustable disposable on the market. Adjustable wattage is a game changer on these disposables as it allows you to tailor the experience to your current needs. Add in the adjustable airflow and you can truly get a tailored vaping experience from these disposables.
