The bottom line

The SW15000 is a huge improvement from Mr Fog’s previous devices and those were already pretty good to begin with. This device has the nicest design, the best and most features, and the best flavor and performance out of any of Mr Fog’s disposables. Heck, I would go as far as to say that it’s one of the better disposables that I’ve tried from any brand in the past year.

Highlights of this device include its adjustable airflow, two wattage output levels, excellent flavors, and great consistency and longevity. Things that could be improved would be the addition of a third, mid output wattage level and a wider variety of flavors that aren’t strawberry or peach.

Mr Fog is definitely a disposable brand to look out for the next time that you’re restocking your vaping arsenal. So should you get the SW15000? Absolutely. Let me know your thoughts on Mr Fog and this device by leaving me a comment down below.

Mr Fog is a disposable vaping brand that has seen huge success in recent years. Since being founded in 2018, Mr Fog has released a wide variety of disposable devices and they’ve accumulated quite a fan base for their products.

In the past, I’ve personally had the chance to test and review two of Mr Fog’s disposables; the Max Air 8500 (MA8500) and the SWITCH 5500. Today, I’m back with a review on an upgraded version of the latter – the SWITCH SW15000.

The SWITCH SW15000 is similar to its predecessor, only more advanced. It comes with two wattage output levels, wattage and e-liquid displays, and a new design. The SW15000 is rated for up to 15000 puffs and it is rechargeable with Type-C charging. It also has an adjustable airflow dial to fine tune the MTL draw.

If you’re thinking of purchasing the SW15000, should you? I’ll go over everything that you need to know in this review.

  • Size: 88mm x 50mm x 26mm
  • Weight: 73g

Design & Build Quality

  • Mr Fog Switch SW15000 Disposables - 6

If you’ve seen Mr Fog’s SWITCH 5500 then you’ll get a bit of deja vu from the Switch SW15000. The Switch SW15000 is bigger and fancier but it’s very clearly a second generation device in Mr Fog’s “SWITCH” series of disposables. It’s a lot nicer than the first gen SW5500 and looks much more professional and expensive with its crackle texture finish.

Down the center is a shiny band that runs vertically around the entire device and which separates the crackle texture half of the SW15000 from the shiny white plastic half. Each flavor is a different color on the crackle textured side but they feature the same white plastic half. Mr Fog decided against pastel colors here in favor of darker tones and, if you ask me, it goes with the design perfectly.

You can feel the crackle texture when you hold the SW15000 in your hand. It adds a fair amount of grip to the device and the finish looks really great. The main texture is matte, while the cracks have a sheen that you notice when the light hits. This sheen really accentuates the cracked effect and makes the SW15000 look really high-end.

Branding on the SW15000 is only present on the shiny plastic half of the device. All of it is printed in raised, matte lettering which matches the color of the crackle texture. On the front is “MR FOG SWITCH”, while the back has a Mr Fog logo, the flavor, and SW15000.

Another nice touch to the design is the flexible TPU mouthpiece. It’s a wide oval that is firm but slightly squishy and it feels excellent to vape on. It’s a small feature but I much prefer it over a solid plastic mouthpiece.

The SW15000 is larger than its predecessor but still surprisingly thin and portable for a 15000 puff device. It’s 88mm tall, 50mm wide, and 26mm thick with a weight of 73g; I don’t even notice that it’s in my pocket when I’m carrying one around.

While it’s made almost entirely of plastic, the SW15000 feels anything but cheap. It’s light for sure, but while some disposables would feel cheap because of this, the SW15000 does not.

Features

Mr Fog Switch SW15000 Disposables - 13

What differentiates the SW15000 from the SW5500 (as well as from other disposables) is its impressive set of features and heightened user-adjustability. The most obvious of these features is the screen which is located on the front of the device.

This display is hidden under a reflective layer and shines through when you vape or press the button. It’s very bright (although not too bright) and features a simple but clean UI. On this display you’ll see the battery percentage level, an ejuice level indicator, and your wattage output.

The battery percentage is displayed in 1% increments, which is nice. On the other hand, the ejuice indicator is a bit more ambiguous. It’s a droplet icon with three bars and as the ejuice level decreases, so will the bars:

  • Full droplet (green, yellow, red bars illuminated): 61-100% eliquid level
  • Two bars (yellow and red bars illuminated): 31-60% eliquid level
  • One bar (only red bar illuminated): 10-30% eliquid level

From the factory, each SW15000 comes filled with 15ml of ejuice for up to 15000 puffs, but there’s a catch.

There are two wattage output levels that you can choose from, 10W and 20W. You can press the button on the side of the SW15000 to toggle between the two output levels and the one that you choose will be highlighted on the display. Only by using the SW15000 exclusively in the 10W output can you reach the 15000 advertised puffs. If you use the 20W output then this puff count will be cut in about half.

Another obvious feature is the airflow adjustment dial. The airflow on the SW15000 goes from a loose MTL down to a semi-tight MTL draw. It doesn’t get to a super tight MTL unless you close the airflow all the way and at that point the flavor becomes very muted.

Mr Fog doesn’t specify the battery capacity but based on the battery life I would guess that it’s somewhere around 500-650mAh. The battery lasts me a couple of days of vaping on the 10W setting.

Recharging is good with the SW15000. It only takes half-an-hour for a 60% charge and fifty minutes fully for a full charge. The Type-C charging port is located on the side of the device so it can be stood up while charging.

Flavors

Mr Fog Switch SW15000 Disposables - 2

Mr Fog has come out with an entirely new lineup of flavors for the SW15000. As far as I can tell, none of these are shared with the SW5500 so that’s either good news or bad news depending on if you liked the flavors for that device.

At launch there are sixteen flavors available which are mostly fruit flavor and fruit ice combos:

  • Banana Pancake
  • Blue Raspberry Magic Cotton Ice
  • Classic Mint Ice
  • Cola Gummy Ice
  • Gold Edition for 6th Anniversary
  • Grape Pomegranate Ice
  • Guava Mango Peach
  • Mango Dragon Fruit Lemonade
  • Nasty Tropic
  • Peach Blue Razz Mango Ice
  • Peach Lychee Ice
  • Pina Colada
  • Strawberry Apricot Ice
  • Strawberry Berry
  • Strawberry Dragon Fruit
  • White Peach Slushy

If you’re a peach or strawberry flavor fan then you’ll probably like the flavor options. For anyone else, there’s 9 other flavors that vary from pretty normal (Classic Mint) to pretty out there (Banana Pancake).

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Strawberry Dragon Fruit

Oh, this one is good! There’s a full, sweet strawberry flavor on the inhale and then notes of subtle dragon fruit that come in afterwards. The fresh strawberry flavor is about 80% of the flavor though so if you’re expecting a lot of dragon fruit flavor then you’ll be disappointed.

Classic Mint Ice

For a sweet mint flavor, this one hits the spot. It’s chilly and has a lot of cooling but it’s also sweet and tasty. This is the only type of mint flavor that is offered for the SW15000 but if you like sweet mints then you’ll probably enjoy this flavor. Those looking for a sharp mint will want to look at other disposables.

Peach Lychee Ice

This is a pretty even mix of peach and lychee, although the peach is just a hair more powerful. I taste the lychee a lot on the exhale and as an aftertaste so it’s really pleasant. There’s a lot of sweetness to this flavor but it’s done in such a way that it’s not too much. Excellent flavor overall.

Blue Raspberry Magic Cotton Ice

On the inhale this flavor delivers a blue raspberry flavor that most vapers will be familiar with, followed by a light cotton candy flavor on the exhale. There’s supposedly ice in here too but it’s too subtle for me to taste. The cotton candy kind of tones down the sweetness from the blue razz and finishes off the flavor profile nicely. It’s not as sweet as your average blue razz flavor but more layered and complex so it’s an interesting one to vape on.

Peach Blue Razz Mango Ice

The medley of flavors is crazy. Mango is strong off the inhale, followed by a strong peach and then layered with a weak blue razz. I taste each fruit flavor one after the other and it’s a bit of an overload for my taste buds. This isn’t a flavor that I would vape on all day but if you’re searching for a new flavor that you haven’t tried then I can recommend giving this one a whirl.

How do they vape?

Mr Fog Switch SW15000 Disposables - 4

Since the SW15000 is an upgrade to the SW5500, it wouldn’t be right to leave out a comparison of the two here. The good news is that Mr Fog has remedied some of the issues that I had with the SW5500 and this makes the SW15000 a better device overall.

The most major complaint that they’ve solved is the draw strength in relation to the battery life. The draw stays strong and powerful all the way until it’s at about 5%. Only then does the draw start to feel weaker. This is a huge change from the SW5500 which starts to feel weak about mid-way through a charge.

The two wattage output levels are also a welcome feature but the SW15000 could have used a third, medium output. The 10W output can feel a bit weak at times and then 20W output can be a bit too powerful. I mostly stuck to the 10W output and closed off the airflow midway for a stronger draw but a 15W output level would have made the SW15000 even better.

Even if it’s an identical looking airflow adjustment dial to the one on the SW5500, the airflow feels improved. The loose MTL draw is just right when the airflow is left fully open and the medium MTL draw with the airflow halfway closed is also spot on. Again, those looking for a very tight MTL draw won’t get that from the SW15000 but the airflow range is good overall.

Flavor from the dual mesh coil is consistent and doesn’t fade at all. I’ve used my Strawberry Dragon Fruit flavor to completion and the flavor never tasted burnt, faded, or any different from when I first started using it.

Verdict

The SW15000 is a huge improvement from Mr Fog’s previous devices and those were already pretty good to begin with. This device has the nicest design, the best and most features, and the best flavor and performance out of any of Mr Fog’s disposables.
