The bottom line

While the MeshBox mini may not offer thousands of puffs, a display screen, or recharging capability, I wouldn’t automatically pass on these small disposables. For vapers who are most concerned with portability, the MeshBox mini offers the experience of using a larger disposable in a device that is a fraction of the size.

While I was a little disappointed by the flavors that I tried due to their subtlety and lack of ‘oomph’, they’re still quite good, especially if a subtle flavor is what you like.

The MeshBox mini by Puffmi is a device that goes in the opposite direction of most other disposable vapes that are being released. It doesn’t offer thousands of puffs and it isn’t rechargeable. These may seem like downsides to some, but if you’re a vaper that values portability then the MeshBox mini will pique your interest.

The MeshBox mini is a miniaturized version of the Puffmi MeshBox 5500 that was released early in 2023. It’s an extremely small disposable that comfortably sits in the palm of your hand but it still offers 1200 puffs and packs a 550mAh battery.

Despite the low puff count and lack of recharging capability, is the MeshBox mini worth the $7.99? You’ll find out in this review.

Note: I’m reviewing the US version of the MeshBox mini. There is also an EU version available which offers 600 puffs.

These disposables were sent to me directly by Puffmi. However, this does not in any way affect my thoughts or opinions in this review.

  • Size: 58mm x 34mm x 13.5mm
  • 550mAh battery
  • 50mg (5%) nicotine strength
  • Up to 1200 puffs
  • Prefilled with 3.5ml of ejuice
  • Eco Mesh Coil
  • 15 Flavors

Design & Build Quality

Puffmi MeshBox Mini - 1

The MeshBox mini is perhaps the smallest disposable vape that I’ve ever used. But it’s not just small, it’s downright tiny. After using some of the largest disposables ever this year, the small size of the MeshBox mini is a real shocker!

It’s hard to appreciate just how mini the MeshBox mini really is until you hold it in your hand. It’s only 58mm tall, 34mm wide and 13.5mm thick and I can easily conceal it in my palm.

Robert reviewed the MeshBox 5500 early this year and the MeshBox mini is its smaller twin. They’re essentially the same device with both featuring a plastic top half and a metal lower casing. The main differences are of course the size, as well as the lack of a charging port on the MeshBox mini.

The color of the MeshBox mini somewhat corresponds to the flavor inside. I say ‘somewhat’ because while Blue Razz Lemonade is blue, Apple Peach Watermelon is pink, Grape Strawberry is green, etc. It sort of matches up but not always.

The rounded corners and edges on the MeshBox mini feels great and certainly make it look even smaller than it already is. The plastic top half is shiny, while the metal bottom portion of the casing is a matte metallic finish. The hybrid plastic and metal casing looks great and the MeshBox mini is a handsome looking disposable overall.

Just like the MeshBox 5500, the mouthpiece is flared out. However, because of how small the mouthpiece is, I didn’t have any issues with lint or dirt getting into it.

At the bottom of each device there are two holes: one for airflow and one for the white LED light.

Features

Puffmi MeshBox Mini - 3

The MeshBox mini does not have too many features to cover but we’ll go over the specifications here too. Each one comes filled with 3.5ml of ejuice; not a lot when compared to other options on the market which are coming with 15ml+. However, these still offer 1200 puffs per device which is impressive considering how absolutely tiny each one is.

These are non-rechargeable but each one packs a 550mAh battery to ensure that the battery will last for the advertised 1200 puffs. The lack of charging capability may be a con to many but if you look at it another way, there’s no hassle or worrying about recharging with the MeshBox mini. You simply use them until they are done and throw them away.

There only appears to be one nicotine strength available for the US and that is 50mg/ml (5%).

While the MeshBox 5500 used COREX heating tech, the MeshBox mini seems to be using Puffmi’s own in-house coil which they call an ‘eco mesh’ coil. I’ll go over how this affects the performance (if at all) a little later in this review.

Flavors

Puffmi MeshBox Mini - 2

Most of the flavors for the MeshBox mini are not shared with Pufffmi’s previous disposable devices and there are 15 flavors available in total. There are fruit flavors, drink flavors, one mint flavor, and one tobacco flavor. The full list of available flavors is:

  • Apple Peach Watermelon
  • Blue Razz Lemonade
  • Blueberry Sour Raspberry
  • Cola Ice
  • Fizzy Cherry
  • Fizzy Lemon Grape
  • Grape Strawberry
  • Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava
  • Mango Strawberry Pineapple
  • Mint Ice
  • Peach Ice
  • Pineapple Peach Mango
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Rainbow Candy
  • Tobacco

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Grape Strawberry

This flavor never allows the grape or strawberry notes to get too strong and keeps the two mingling together the entire time. Each time that I took a draw, I couldn’t determine if I was tasting the grape or the strawberry in the flavor. One moment I’m thinking I’m tasting the strawberry but just as quickly it changes to grape. This flavor is quite juicy and mildly sweet.

Apple Peach Watermelon

As with the last flavor, Apple Peach Watermelon is a similar story. It’s hard to single out exactly which flavor you are tasting because all three come in and out of the flavor profile throughout the vape. All three flavors are light but bring enough sweetness that I kept coming back for another puff. I would have enjoyed this flavor more if it was slightly stronger.

Blue Razz Lemonade

A-ha! A flavor that I can really taste the intended notes. The blue raspberry flavor and lemonade flavor are equally strong and although they mix together throughout, you can taste each one individually. This flavor is stronger and sweeter than the others and brings a nice, slightly sour tartness that perfectly suits the flavor.

Fizzy Lemon Grape

The grape notes here are the star of the show. I taste the lemon on the inhale and it sticks around complimenting the grape flavor right up until the exhale. I can taste a bit of the ‘fizzy’ part of the flavor on the inhale but it’s pretty subtle. It’s interesting how the lemon adds something new to this flavor and if it was stronger it would make this flavor even better.

How do they vape?

Puffmi MeshBox Mini - 7

For such a small and simple disposable, the MeshBox mini performs as if it was a full-sized device. You’re not going to get the longevity out of these that you would with a larger, higher puff count disposable but if you use these with your expectations set accordingly then you’ll be impressed.

The airflow is not adjustable but I really like the tight mouth-to-lung draw that they produce. The vapor is warm and the amount of vapor that is produced is unexpectedly large. It’s a lot of vapor for a small vape!

In addition to the amount of vapor, the strength of the draw was also unexpected. The draw is quite powerful, delivering a lot of nicotine with the vapor. The eco mesh coil inside of these clearly does an excellent job of effectively vaporizing ejuice, leaving me feeling satiated after only a few puffs.

Verdict

While the MeshBox mini may not offer thousands of puffs, a display screen, or recharging capability, I wouldn’t automatically pass on these small disposables. For vapers who are most concerned with portability, the MeshBox mini offers the experience of using a larger disposable in a device that is a fraction of the size.

These are being sold for $7.99 which is about half the cost of an 8000-10,000 puff disposable. Value-wise, you would be better off spending the money and purchasing a high-puff disposable if you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck. However, for vapers looking for an extremely portable disposable and who aren’t concerned with getting the most puffs out of each device, I can see the MeshBox mini being a viable option.

While I was a little disappointed by the flavors that I tried due to their subtlety and lack of ‘oomph’, they’re still quite good, especially if a subtle flavor is what you like.
