The bottom line

The Demo is a great device for certain situations. Due to the small puff count and battery, this would not be the perfect device for daily use by any means, but it could be a great option for extremely casual users.

I could also see it being perfect for those who are going out and want to be discreet, while having the option to use and toss it when finished. All this without breaking the bank.

The size and shape of the Demo make it perfect for taking on-the-go. It can fit in even the smallest of pockets and can be hidden away if needed. But what impressed me the most about the Demo is its power output. It may be small but the draw, flavor and vapor are anything but. You can expect to get decent flavor and respectably large clouds with the Demo.

Filling is also extremely easy and in no way difficult, even if you’re using a concentrate device like this for the first time. The most difficult aspect of filling the Demo will be having the right equipment but everything you need can easily be found online.

The Artrix Demo is by far the smallest cannabis vape that I’ve ever used. The small size may lead you to believe that it can’t possibly be that powerful but don’t let its small size fool you; this little vape packs a very powerful draw that you wouldn’t expect.

The Demo is a disposable THC concentrate vape with a 0.1ml vape tank that is meant to be filled with material of your choosing. You can fill it with any concentrate you desire, including thicker materials. The Demo is meant to be used for up to 10 draws and when finished, you can throw it away. It has a maximum output of 5.9W and features a tiny 90mAh built in battery. The battery is not rechargeable.

The Demo is about the size of a small USB drive. Not only is it very small, it’s also extremely light weight, at only 7.9g. Thanks to its weight and size, I found the Demo to be the perfect vape for discreet usage.

Have an upcoming family get together where you don’t want grandma to catch you vaping? The Demo would be perfect for this occasion as it is very small, compact, and can be used without anyone being the wiser.

Design & Build Quality

Artrix Demo - 1

The Artrix Demo is the shape and size of something very familiar. If I didn’t know what it was, I would have guessed that it was a USB drive when I first saw it.

The Demo is by far the most portable cannabis vape that I’ve used, standing at 52mm tall, 17mm wide and 8mm deep. It’s also extremely light and only weighs only 7.9g. I’ve forgotten that I’ve had it on my person more times than I care to admit so it definitely doesn’t weigh you down.

The rectangular shape along with the rounded edges make the Demo very comfortable to hold. The body of the Demo is made entirely of plastic and has a soft touch coating that gives the device some added grip. The shape allows the device to be rested on a table standing upright, or laying flat without annoyingly rolling on the table or toppling over.

The tank has a very small capacity, holding only 0.1ml of product. It’s only meant for up to 10 draws so even expecting a full day of use is being optimistic. The Demo features a mesh ceramic coil which delivers excellent flavor and vapor.

The mouthpiece, which also serves as the cap for the filling chamber, is very tiny so it’s quite easy to misplace. Take care that you don’t accidentally lose it before installing it.

It was quite easy to install the mouthpiece top cap once I was done filling the device. I will touch on this more in the next section.

Artrix Demo - 4

There is little to mention when it comes to the design of the Artrix Demo as its a very simple device. It is available in a range of 7 colors, including black, dark gray, white, light blue, red, light pink, and pastel.

When it comes to any branding or logos, there are none. If you look at the bottom part of the front and back panels, you will see that there is a small triangle. This is an Artrix logo that is visible on all of their products.

Unfortunately, there is no window to track your concentrate level, nor are there any LED lights to  indicate where your battery and product levels are at. The Demo is not meant to be a long term device though so I won’t fault them for this.

The Demo houses a small 90mAh built-in battery that is not rechargeable. That being said, you will have more than enough battery life to get you through the 7-10 puffs that the Demo is rated for.

How to use the Artrix Demo

Artrix Demo - 3

Before we dive into how to fill the Artrix Demo, there are some points to mention.

Firstly, having the right applicator will make all the difference here. For the purpose of this review I used a glass dab applicator syringe which worked extremely well.

Secondly, you will need an 18 gauge filling needle. If you don’t just have these lying around, you can order some online for less than $10. The needle can be screwed onto the end of a glass dab applicator, which makes it super simple to fill the Demo.

Using these two products together will allow you to fill Demo with ease and achieve a mess-free fill. Now that we have touched on that, let’s get into how to fill the Demo.

  • Take the dab applicator syringe and screw the 18 gauge fill needle onto the end. With the needle screwed onto the end, insert the needle 2-5mm into the oil tank. The oil tank is the center hole (the two outer holes are airflow holes).
  • You can only fill the tank with 0.1ml of liquid. This is such a small amount that you want to take care not to overfill. Luckily, my applicator has notches that allowed me to track how much I was inserting.
  • If you want to be extra sure not to overfill then you can remove the silicone gasket to give you unobstructed access to the square ceramic coil. You’ll want to fill to the point where the entire center square is filled. When done, remove the needle and set aside.
  • Before replacing the cap, Artrix recommends waiting to let the concentrate settle. If your product is less viscous you can wait 90 seconds. For concentrates that are a little thicker, Artrix recommends waiting 180 seconds.
  • Afterwards you can snap the mouthpiece into place. You will know that it is correctly installed when it sits flush with the top of the device.
  • Allow the device to sit for 4 hours before using. This will prevent any burning of the coil.
  • After the 4 hour sitting period has passed you can simply pick up the device and take a draw. There are no buttons as the Demo is draw activated. Make sure to keep track of the amount of puffs that you have taken so that you don’t get a dry hit.
  • Depending on your personal usage, you should get anywhere between 7-10 puffs. On the final puff you may notice a change in the flavor and this signals that the Demo is completely empty.
  • Artrix recommends using the product within two weeks of filling.

These are being sold as a one-time disposable, however, I always try to push a device to its limit. After I used up all the concentrate inside my device, I figured “let’s open it up and see if we can reuse it”.

It was risky, only because I didn’t know if I was going to break the cap. However, with a little gentle persuasion, I used tweezers and gently tugged on the mouthpiece to open it up. I then refilled it like I did before and, lo and behold, I was able to continue using it.

Thankfully the coil was not burnt and the flavor was back to perfect upon refilling. If you’re lucky you can get another 7-10 puffs from the Demo. But if you take particularly long draws, you’ll likely only get a few puffs after refilling. The 90mAh battery is not meant for long-term use and battery life is disappointingly short.

Performance

Artrix Demo - 5

For such a small device, the Demo really impressed me. The coil did an amazing job of heating up the product quickly and delivering a draw that was cloud-filled and flavorful. The concentrate that I used with the Demo was pretty viscous but the coil was able to heat it up without issue.

The Demo outputs at 5.9W and I found that to be just right for a nice draw. The vapor that it outputs is cool, verging on warm, so long draws aren’t a problem. I was thoroughly impressed at how much of the flavor I was able to get from my concentrate.

This is really one of those cases where you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover because the Demo performs very well for its small size. However, it should go without saying that the flavor and vapor are not as good as larger, more powerful concentrate vaporizers.

I turned the device upside down to see if it would leak and experienced no leakage. The mouthpiece cap does a really good job of sealing the device so there are no unwanted messes and loss of product.

Verdict
