The bottom line

Remit’s first disposable, the Mega 18000, is a decent first attempt. There’s a lot that I like about it like the fun design, nice display, and dual output modes. The flavors are enjoyable as well, although the lineup could use 5-10 more flavors to add a bit more variety.

Unfortunately, there’s also more than a few faults that need addressing. These include the easily scratched screen, short battery life, and long charging. I also think that a third, middle output mode would make these disposables a lot better all around.

With the amount of different disposables available, there are definitely better options, but there are a lot of worse options as well. That being said, I think that the Remit Mega 18000 comes in somewhere around average.

The Mega 18000 likely won’t impress you too much, but it won’t disappoint you too much either.

Another day, another disposable! The Remit Mega 18000 is the first disposable vape from Remit, a new vaping brand trying to break through in the oversaturated disposable market.

For a first device, the Mega 18000 is surprisingly full-featured. It has a nice display with ejuice and battery levels, two output modes, and uses dual mesh coils. It comes filled with 18ml of ejuice from the factory and offers up to 18000 puffs per device. It also has adjustable airflow control.

But how does the Remit Mega compare to other top disposables on the market, and is it worth purchasing over the thousands of other options available?

  • Size: 95mm x 52mm x 23mm
  • 2 Output Modes: Dual Mesh, Single Mesh
  • Pre-filled with 18ml of ejuice
  • Up to 18,000 Puffs (Single mesh mode)
  • 5% (50mg) Nicotine content
  • Dual Mesh Coil
  • Draw activated
  • MTL/Tight MTL draw
  • 650mAh Rechargeable battery
  • Type-C charging (0.5A)
  • 10 Flavor options

Design & Build Quality

  • Remit Mega 18000 Disposables - 14

The Remit Mega 18000 features an all-plastic body with a lot of color. Many of the colors are pastel, which gives these devices a fun look.

Each one is 95mm tall, 52mm wide, and 23mm thick. A bit tall but still small and slim enough for being a high puff count device. In general, the design is nice; semi-soft-touch sides and mouthpiece, and rounded edges and corners which makes these comfortable to hold.

No matter which flavor (and thus color) that you get, the back of the Remit Mega 18000 is beige. On this beige back plate is a large REMIT MEGA! logo, along with the flavor. The front side of the device is black, with another large REMIT MEGA! Logo. There’s a lot of in-your-face branding here so you definitely won’t forget which device you’re using.

While the rest of the device has a flat finish, the front logo is holographic and the black face has a shiny finish. This is important to mention because the flat finish resists fingerprints, scuffs, and scratches wonderfully. The same can’t be said about the front.

Within only a day of using each flavor, the front was looking beat up. Scratches, scuffs, and just general wear show immediately on the black front of the Remit Mega 18000. It makes the device look old and worn, and this will happen even if you’re extra careful.

Hidden beneath the black plastic on the front is the display. Thankfully, the scratching and wear don’t affect visibility of the display because it’s very bright and vibrant.

The display is one major thing that the Remit Mega 18000 has going for it. It’s one of the nicest displays that I’ve seen due to its vibrancy, colorfulness, and clean UI. It displays your battery percentage, output mode (single or dual mesh), and remaining ejuice percentage, all with nice icons to go along with the numbers.

On the bottom of each device is a button which is used to change modes, as well as the Type-C charging port and airflow control switch. The airflow control switch is firm and works well, as does the button. But the button is flush with the bottom of the device, which makes it a pain to press. Having the button stick out a little would have been better.

Features

Remit Mega 18000 Disposables - 15

The Remit Mega 18000 uses dual mesh coils and features two output modes: a single mesh mode and a dual mesh mode. This allows you to set the device for a cooler and less intense vape by using it in single mesh mode, or if you want a hotter vape with more vapor and a more intense throat hit then you can use it in dual mesh mode.

Switching modes is accomplished by double pressing the button on the bottom of the device. As I mentioned, this is slightly annoying because the button sits flush but otherwise, the button works well.

When you switch modes, the flame icon in the middle of the screen will turn either red with two mesh icons, or blue with a single mesh icon. Red is dual mesh mode and blue is single mesh mode.

Aside from the dual mesh coils, two output modes, and display, there isn’t much else to mention about the Remit Mega 18000. It comes filled with 18ml of ejuice for up to 18000 puffs (in single mesh mode, dual mesh mode will decrease the amount of puffs that you’ll get overall). It’s easy to use and clearly displays your battery and ejuice levels, making it great for beginners.

Airflow Control Slider

The airflow control slider is located on the bottom of the Remit Mega 18000 and features two small holes for airflow. Sliding it to the left closes down the airflow and sliding it to the right opens up the airflow.

There isn’t a wide range for the airflow on this device but it goes from a mouth-to-lung draw down to a tight mouth-to-lung draw if you leave one airflow hole open.

The Remit Mega 18000 claims to be for RDL vaping but the draw is much too tight, even with the airflow as open as it can go. If you’re a RDL vaper looking for a disposable device, you won’t get a good experience here. MTL vapers on the other hand (who like a tighter draw) are who this device was made for.

Flavors

Remit Mega 18000 Disposables - 5

The Remit Mega 18000 is only available in 10 flavors, which is a small selection for a new disposable vape. They’re all fruit flavors too, with no tobacco, candy, drink, or dessert flavors. I personally think there should be at least 15 flavors available for a disposable, and that’s at the minimum.

I’m going to describe how four of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Frozen Mixed Berry Ice

Raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry are the flavors that make up this mix and there’s a light cooling effect too. This flavor is mildly sweet, bringing the mild fruit flavors nicely together.

Mint

If you like yourself a sweet mint flavor then Remit’s Mint will be right up your alley. It’s just as sweet as it is minty, with perhaps a slight edge towards the sweet side.

Blue Razz Lemonade

The lemonade part of this flavor is hard to distinguish and it tastes basically like a slightly more tangy blue razz flavor. It’s mildly sweet and delivers a really nice flavor that competes with other good blue razz vapes out there. Even though it lacks the strong lemonade taste that the name implies, this is my favorite of the flavors that I tried.

Watermelon Ice

This flavor is also sometimes called “Lush Ice” and it’s a nice mix of watermelon and cooling. The watermelon flavor here tastes natural but a bit more sweetened, although not to the point of tasting artificial or like candy. The cooling isn’t too strong so if you like watermelon but not too much ice, this flavor will suit you.

Battery & Charging

Remit Mega 18000 Disposables - 7

The Remit Mega 18000 offers up to 18000 puffs per device, which is great, but the battery hasn’t been quite adequate for me. It’s a small 650mAh battery and even though I’m sure this helps keep the overall dimensions down, it’s smaller than I want for a high-puff disposable.

With regular use, that is switching between the single and dual mesh modes, the battery lasts for two days. Honestly, not great. It’s still manageable of course, but I found myself charging this device more often than I would like.

Charging speed isn’t any better. Because the Mega 18000 supports only 0.5A charging, a full charge takes nearly an hour and a half. It’s puzzling that Remit would cheap out on the charging while fitting the device with such a nice display.

How do they vape?

Remit Mega 18000 Disposables - 1

If you look past the battery life and the long time that it takes to charge, the Remit Mega 18000’s are decent disposables. I’ve been vaping these in 5% nicotine salt strength and there’s a clear difference between vaping them in single mesh mode or dual mesh mode.

In single mesh mode, the draw is noticeably weaker and cooler. I can tell right away if they are set to single or dual mesh mode. Dual mesh mode is a way stronger draw and hotter too. The flavor is also better. However, the strong draw produces a lot of vapor and also delivers a lot of nicotine. The experience isn’t for everyone, especially not those who aren’t used to vaping on 5% disposables.

The Remit Mega 18000 would have done well with a third, middle output mode. Maybe one that pulses the second mesh coil. Single mesh mode feels a bit weak, while dual mesh mode is a bit too strong. I often found myself switching between the two just to even things out; a draw or two in dual mesh mode, then switching to single mesh mode for a few draws. I just couldn’t find the satisfaction in vaping in one mode alone and that’s why I think a middle output mode would do wonders.

Verdict
