VECEE LUKE Disposables Review: There’s An Ejuice Window!

Disposables are great for their simplicity and beginner friendly nature. But one thing that’s always frustrated me is that you never know how much ejuice you have left. Sure, some disposables are supposed to be good for thousands of puffs, but you never really know how close you are to actually running out of ejuice.

Enter the VECEE LUKE. These disposables are really neat because they feature an ejuice viewing window which allows you to see how much ejuice is left in the reservoir. They come filled with 2ml of ejuice for up to 600 puffs and are available in 2% (20mg) nicotine salt strength. Each LUKE has a built-in 400mAh battery that is non-rechargeable.

These disposables also aim to solve another common issue with disposables, which is leaking. There’s a “Juice Locking System” that is built-into each one which allows you to close off the ejuice reservoir completely, hopefully eliminating leaking.

Design & Build Quality

VECEE’s LUKE disposables are made by Yocan, a company that has been in the vaping industry for years. The design and build quality are good, and they’re overall nice little disposables. 

I’ll start off with the size. These are tiny pen-style disposables, measuring 94mm tall, 15mm wide, and 15mm deep. They have a cube shape with rounded corners and they’re very light. Considering that each comes filled with only 2ml of ejuice and a 400mAh battery, the fact that they aren’t heavy is really no surprise.

Because they’re so thin, they’re ultra-portable. You can take four or five of these with you at one time and you’ll barely notice that they’re there. This is great if you like to switch up flavors on-the-go. Even if you’re the type of vaper who only vapes one flavor at a time, the small footprint is a big plus.

These disposables are primarily made out of plastic but each one is finished with a soft touch coating. I’ve always been a fan of soft touch bodies on vapes as it just feels so nice. It also adds grip, although these are so light that dropping them doesn’t do any significant damage anyway. This coating does get dirty quickly though. If your hands are even a little bit dirty, it will transfer to the coating.

The color of each disposable corresponds to the flavor and each one has a two-tone color scheme. The color is a gradient that fades from one color to the other. The front of each disposable has the flavor printed, as well as a VECEE and LUKE logo.

The drip tip is made of black plastic and is non-removable. It’s rectangular in shape and comes up straight, with no slope to it at all. While not necessarily uncomfortable to use, a sloped mouthpiece would have been more comfortable.

On the front of the LUKE is the standout feature of these disposables — the ejuice viewing window. It’s lightly tinted and allows you to see straight into the ejuice reservoir. This solves the problem of not knowing how much ejuice you have left, so you’ll know when you’re running low. I found it particularly helpful to determine whether or not I should bring another disposable with me on trips out of the house. 

On the bottom of the LUKE is a black plastic base which houses the airflow inlet hole and a blue LED. The LED lights up each time that you take a puff. It’s a little bright in a completely dark room, and unfortunately you can’t cover it as this messes with the draw activation.

Features

In addition to the aforementioned ejuice viewing window, the LUKE has a couple of other interesting features. One of these features is what VECEE calls their “Juice Locking System”, or JLS.

This JLS keeps the inner wicking ports closed from the factory in order to seal in the flavor and freshness of the ejuice. Once you take the LUKE out of the box, you simply turn the mouthpiece 45 degrees clockwise to open up the ejuice reservoir and wicking ports. 

You can also use this system to prevent leaking if you aren’t going to be using the disposable for a while, for example overnight.

Each LUKE comes filled with 2ml of ejuice. They are currently available in only 20mg (2%) nicotine strength. This is a bummer if you vape higher strength nic salts like 30mg or 50mg, but I found them very satisfying to vape on as-is (more about this later in the “How do they vape” section).

These devices aren’t rechargeable and come with a 400mAh battery. Together with the 2ml of ejuice, each LUKE should last for up to 600 puffs before running out of juice. These are far from the longest-lasting disposables on the market so that’s something to keep in mind.

Flavors

You can get the LUKE in ten flavors, which is a pretty standard number of flavors for a disposable device. Like most disposables, the flavors are fruit flavors for the most part. However, there’s a tobacco flavor available which is (for some reason) increasingly rare to see. There’s also an orange soda and cherry lemonade flavor if you’re looking for something fruity but different. The available flavors are:

• Mango Peach
• Watermelon Ice
• Cherry Lemonade

I’ll describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Orange Soda

This flavor tastes like an orange soda with a little bit of cooling to it. I’ve tried many other “pop” flavors, and this one does not have the ‘fizzy’ taste that a lot of other ones do. I actually like the fizzy taste/sensation, so I was missing it here. It’s a tasty flavor though and it’s something different from regular ‘orange’ vapes.

Cherry Lemonade

There’s a strong floral taste to this vape but it most definitely has a cherry flavor. It’s not like other cherry vapes which are very sweet and candy-like. The floral notes give it a really nice flavor which is strong and bold, with a sort of cherry coke aftertaste on the exhale. I don’t taste a lot of the lemonade myself but I like the flavor.

Tropical Drizzle

This is a nice combination of pineapple and orange. I taste both flavors on the inhale, with a pineapple flavor coming in first, followed by the orange flavor. The inhale is similar, although there’s more pineapple here than orange. The level of sweetness is at a good level.

Watermelon Ice

This is like a lush ice flavor, just with a different name. The ice isn’t too strong but it’s still noticeable and present. The watermelon flavor is great and tastes very natural on the inhale, but there’s a hint of candying on the exhale. Overall, a really nice flavor.

Tobacco Chill

Surprisingly, it’s not often that a disposable brand offers a tobacco flavor. You would think that more companies would, so it’s nice to see one here from VECEE. It’s a nice tobacco flavor with a little bit of cooling, giving it a flavor like menthol smokes. The tobacco and menthol flavors have a bit of sweetness to them, which adds a little something to the flavor profile. 

How Do They Vape?

VECEE’s disposables are nice to vape on. The draw is warm, verging on cool, and each one delivers a loose MTL draw. Since these disposables are only available in 20mg (2%) nicotine strength, the draw isn’t as strong as I’m used to from other higher-strength disposables. I still found them to be satisfying, but I had to take more puffs to achieve my desired level of satisfaction. If you’re used to vaping on higher strength disposables then you’ll probably feel the same way.

With that said, the draw feels stronger than you would think for a 20mg disposable. They feel more like vaping a 30mg juice due to how dense and full of a throat hit they provide. This makes them a good choice if you’re looking to reduce your nicotine intake, as you’ll feel like you’re vaping a higher strength ejuice than you really are. 

The ejuice viewing window is one of my favorite things about these. It lets you know how much ejuice is left at a  glance, and takes away any worry about running out of ejuice while you’re out of the house. I recently took a small road trip for the holidays and was able to confidently bring a few of these along with me, knowing that they still had ejuice left in the tank.

VECEE’s “Juice Locking System” also seems to make a big difference to the initial flavor. While I didn’t find it to provide any real benefit once I started using them (they didn’t leak, even with the JLS left “open”), once I took them out of the box and opened the JLS I got a really strong flavor from each disposable.

Another thing to keep in mind about the LUKE is that they only come filled with 2ml of ejuice. They also have a 400mAh battery which is not rechargeable. If you’re a heavy vaper then each one will last for only a few days. The upside is that they are very small. You can also use a different flavor every few days if you like to switch it up. No matter how you spin it, these aren’t going to last as long as some other disposable out there so factor that into your purchase decision.

Verdict

VECEE’s LUKE disposables deliver strong flavor and a nice, loose MTL vape that most vapers will enjoy. Their ten flavors are all really good and they offer some interesting choices, including a tobacco flavor. While I can’t say for sure that their “Juice Locking System” is the reason for the strong initial flavor, I do think that it makes a positive difference.

These disposable have a nice soft touch coating and they’re very small compared to some of the absolute behemoth disposables on the market. However, this comes with the tradeoff of the LUKE only offering 600 puffs from its 2ml of ejuice. These are nowhere near the longest lasting disposables, but they do offer a consistent experience and the 600 puffs that each one delivers is enjoyable from start to finish.

My favorite feature of the LUKE is the ejuice viewing window. This is a feature that I wish more disposable brands implemented. Not only does it make the device look different in a good way, it’s super practical. You’re never in the dark about how much ejuice you have left, so you always have a good idea of how much more vaping you can get out of each disposable. 

Overall, VECEE”s LUKE disposables are great to vape with. If you’re looking for a small disposable with great flavors, you won’t be disappointed.
