Our Verdict

Wotofo Airy disposables are different from your average disposable. Instead of going for a tight MTL draw with high nicotine strength, these deliver a slightly restricted direct to lung vape with 3mg of nicotine salt for large draws and even larger clouds.

These aim to be a smaller, more convenient alternative to your box mod and tank setup and they do a terrific job when they work, but the fact that I had issues with two out of my six review units leaves me cautious of recommending them.

The flavors are good, some of the best that I’ve tried while vaping; period. But the flavors are dulled a lot by the open airflow. Blocking the airflow off with my finger allowed me to taste just how good the flavors could be with a MTL draw and it left me wanting that flavor intensity all the time. There must be some way that Wotofo can get the flavor intensity up on these without sacrificing the DTL draw that they’re going for.

All-in-all, Wotofo’s Airy disposables are a good alternative to your regular DTL setup, but only if Wotofo can get their quality control right.

Wotofo has released a number of new disposable vapes recently and so far we have reviewed two of them: the Wotofo Mini+ and the Wotofo Wafer disposables. These have been “traditional” disposables in the sense that they target MTL vapers looking for an easier alternative to a pod vape setup. They deliver a good MTL vaping experience, good flavors, and they work well; all good qualities for a disposable to quit smoking with.

Wotofo’s latest disposable, the Airy, is quite different. Rather than focusing on MTL vapers and those who are after maximum nicotine satisfaction, the Airy is the first disposable that I’ve seen to focus on DTL vapers and cloud chasing. It comes with 12ml of ejuice and delivers an airy DTL vape and lots of clouds. This is an alternative device to a box mod and tank setup — a unique idea for a disposable.

Is the Wotofo Airy worth using over a box mod and tank?

Design & Build Quality

Wotofo Airy Disposable Vape

The Wotofo Airy is another massive disposable vape. Seriously, these things are huge. Each one is 113.6mm tall with a 28mm diameter so it’s like vaping on a 60ml bottle of ejuice. The size and weight are much closer to a vape pen than a disposable vape, so carrying more than one on you at a time is a bit of a chore. You will definitely feel these in your pocket.

While they are large, the diameter makes these feel natural to hold. It’s really like using a vape pen. When I use these I almost forget that I’m using a disposable and that’s a good thing for their intended purpose. Wotofo is trying to compete with mods here rather than other disposables and, in the design department, they have done a good job.

Each Wotofo Airy comes prefilled with 12ml of ejuice. That’s a lot of vaping, even for a DTL disposable. You can get them in either 3mg or 6mg nicotine salt strengths. This is much lower nicotine strength than other disposables but it makes sense for a DTL device. 50mg or even 30mg strengths would be too much nicotine and I found the 3mg strength was more than satisfying enough because of the amount of vapor that you get from these.

Each one has an internal 850mAh battery and is rechargeable using the micro-USB port on the bottom of the device. This 12ml ejuice capacity and rechargeable battery mean that (according to Wotofo) you should get 1000+ puffs from each Wotofo Airy disposable.

The body is made of plastic and is colored according to the flavor inside. The colors are bright and pop a little and this gives the otherwise plain Airy a nice look. On the other hand, this means that they stick out so you might get some looks or questions when you’re out using these.

There are currently 6 flavors for sale on Wotofo’s website: Tropical Fruit Gummy, Hawaiian Fruit, Granny Smith, Lemon Pink Berries, Mango Banana, and Blackcurrant Grape. I will go over how each of these tastes in the next section.

There is a black top cap that is ribbed along the sides, and an integrated drip tip that is non-removable. The mouthpiece is medium-bore and well-suited for a slightly restricted DTL vape. On the bottom of the Airy there are 8 medium-sized airflow holes that feed up and through the device.

  • Wotofo Airy Disposable Vape 5

WOTOFO AIRY is printed on each one, along with the flavor in a nice cursive font. Right on each one of these it says “DTL Cloud chasing disposable” so you know exactly what Wotofo is trying to accomplish.

Like Wotofo’s other disposables and products, the Airy is built well and feels like a solid product. One big complaint though is that one of my six disposables came dead on arrival and would not work out of the packaging. It had ejuice leaking out of the bottom airflow holes and just would not fire. That’s not a good sign but hey, at least my other 5 work. If it wasn’t for this DOA flavor, I would give the Airy great scores for build quality but as it stands it’s going to lose points. No one wants a dead disposable!

Flavors

Wotofo Airy Disposable Vape 4

Wotofo’s Airy disposables come in 6 flavors. I’m going to say right off the bat that these are some of the best flavors I have ever tried, from a disposable or otherwise. The flavors are all fruits, although some have a very, very slight touch of menthol to them.

I’m going to describe how each flavor tastes to me and what I think of them. Keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it, and vice-versa. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Hawaiian Fruit

Wotofo doesn’t state what fruit flavors this is composed of, nor can I really tell. But what I can say is that it tastes fruity, sweet, and tasty. There is also a little cooling in this flavor. I think there may be passion fruit and dragonfruit, maybe a little strawberry in here too. I can’t say for sure, but it tastes great.

Granny Smith

Apply flavors are my favorite of all and Wotofo has done this one pretty well. It’s a nice granny smith apple flavor with lots of sweetness and a little tartness. The flavor is not as strong as it smells though which is a little disappointing. Increasing the flavor intensity by just a couple of notches would make this the perfect flavor for me.

Blackcurrant Grape

A very “grapey” flavor that is accurate in taste. It’s strong, with a touch of cooling, and brings a sweet grape flavor to the table. Again, it doesn’t taste as strong as it smells, but I don’t have an issue with this flavor. I think it is good as it is.

Lemon Pink Berries

Pink lemonade is the strongest, and frankly the only, flavor that I can taste from this disposable. Berries are supposed to be in here somewhere but I can’t taste them. Still this doesn’t detract from the tastiness of this flavor. The pink lemonade taste is more than good enough on its own. It’s tart and sweet to just the right levels.

Mango Banana

The banana flavor is much weaker than the mango but I find it to be a nice balance. The mango flavor is authentic and just sweet enough, while the banana comes through on the exhale from a subtle boost to the overall taste. If you’re purchasing this flavor hoping for a strong banana flavor then you’ll be disappointed, but if you’re after the mango aspect then you’ll like it.

How do they vape?

Wotofo Airy Disposable Vape 2

Would it surprise you if I told you that Wotofo’s Airy disposables deliver a draw that is, well, Airy? It’s not a wide open DTL draw, but instead offers a DTL draw with a little bit of restriction. I found that the draw could be further restricted by covering the airflow holes on the bottom of the disposable but it’s a bit of a pain to hold it like that all of the time.

But as far as the draw goes, it’s different from what I’m used to with other disposables but it’s not bad. The thing is, the flavors are dulled by all of this extra airflow and when I cover the airflow holes for a more restricted draw, the flavors get more intense. That’s the trade-off with these DTL disposables; more air and more clouds, less intense flavor. The good thing is that the flavors are good even with the airy draw but again, they could be even better.

Each of these delivers a little throat hit, even with the low 3mg nicotine salt strength. They are satisfying to vape on because you get so much vapor, so the low nicotine strength isn’t a drawback.

I mentioned earlier that one of my disposable was DOA out of the box and was leaking out of the airflow holes. Not good. I also faced an issue with my Lemon Pink Berries disposable where I have to draw harder than the others to get the draw activation to work. Problems with 2 out of 6 disposables isn’t a good sign so I hope Wotofo gets their quality control right before starting to ship these out.
