I’m back with another dry herb vaporizer review and this time I’ve got my hands on the Airvape Xs GO. Apollo have produced many dry herb vaporizers in the past but the Xs GO is their lightest and most portable one yet. It’s got a sleek form factor, comes with five temperature settings and can be had for much less than most other portable dry herb vapes on the market.

Design & Build QualityAirvape Xs Go Review

The Airvape Xs GO has a rectangular shape with a rounded top and bottom. The design looks a little dated but ergonomically speaking it’s great as there are indents for your fingers to rest on. I found it quite comfortable to hold and the grip on this device is great.

You can get the Xs GO in one color which is a mix of grey and black. I like this toned down look because it makes the device more discreet. The back of the device is textured with the Seed of Life symbol. It looks pretty neat and also helps with grip.

A neat feature of the Xs GO is that there is a scraper tool built into the bottom of the device. It simply pulls out and can be slid back into the body of the device. This is super convenient as you always have a much needed accessory without having to worry about carrying it separately and losing it.

The device is made mostly out of ABS plastic. As much as I hate plastic on my dry herb vapes, this is a major reason why the device is so light. As a whole, the entire device is well built with no excess and the button is sturdy and clicky.

Size & WeightXs Go Stirring Tool

This Xs GO is small and it’s also unbelievably light — it weighs in at a mere 56 grams (2 ounces)! Picking this thing up is like lifting a feather. It fit comfortably in my hand and I was able to palm this device almost entirely. This is definitely one of the smallest and lightest dry herb vapes out there.

Portability

Taking this thing on the go is what it was made for. It’s easy to just throw it in a bag or purse because it takes up little space and adds almost no weight. Even putting it in my pocket was a non-issue. However, you do have to be careful with the mouthpiece. It seems that the magnet that attaches it to the device itself isn’t too strong and I found it coming off in my pocket a few times.

Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece is a triangular shape with rounded edges. It’s comfortable on the lips and nicely sized. The underside has a rubber seal for fitting and a ceramic plate for more even heating. I like this mouthpiece because it’s close to the chamber but still stays cool during vape sessions.

My only issue are the magnets. They aren’t strong enough to keep the mouthpiece in place if you hit it from the side and this resulted in my mouthpiece coming off in my pocket a few times. Stronger magnets would’ve prevented this problem entirely.

Heating ChamberAirvape Xs GO Heating Chamber

The heating chamber on the Xs Go is located at the top of the device and can be accessed by removing the mouthpiece. It’s oval shaped and made entirely out of ceramic. You can pack about 0.25 grams of ground dry herb in there and that’s plenty for a session.

The small oven vaporizes most effectively if you use 0.15-0.20 grams of finely ground herbs. I found this to be the optimal amount for even heating and vapor production. At the end of a session my herbs were evenly browned and I didn’t even have to stir. I would suggest stirring between sessions though.

The underside of the mouthpiece also has a ceramic plate. This keeps your herbs sandwiched and further helps with even heating.

I found the vapor quality to be good for such an inexpensive device. It’s not the most top-notch but it’s not bad at all. The taste is also pretty good although I think that an all-ceramic mouthpiece would definitely enhance the flavor.

Heat up times are a highlight of this vape. It took about 30 seconds for it to reach 375°F and I was able to vape straight after. This quick heat up time is optimal for small, quick sessions and allows you to get a few satisfying draws and then put it away for later. This is the way that I used the Xs GO the most.

How To Use The AirVape Xs GoAirVape Xs GO Device

The Xs GO is very, very easy to use. There’s a single button on the face of the device used for turning the device on/off and also for switching temperatures. Three clicks on the button will turn the device on or off. Once it’s powered on you just have to hold the button to change temperatures.

There are five different temperature settings: 355, 375, 390, 405 and 420°F. There are five bars of increasing size on the front of the device and each one represents a different temperature. The smallest bar is 355°F while the biggest and topmost bar is 420°F.

When you turn the device on your selected temperature will be flashing. This means that the device is heating up. After around 30 seconds the bar will light up solid orange signalling that it’s heated up and ready to go.

The Airvape Xs GO has a three minute session timer. Once the device has been on for three minutes it will shut itself off as a safety measure. I wish that this was extended to 5 minutes because I found the device shutting off while I was still in the middle of a session. It wasn’t too big of a deal as I just turned the device back on but it was a little annoying nonetheless.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality of the Xs GO is better than you would expect from such an inexpensive device. It’s quite smooth and flavorful but it’s not quite up to par with some of the more expensive dry herb vapes like the Davinci IQ or Crafty.

I got the best experience using the Xs GO at 390°F or 405°F (the third and fourth bars). With 0.15grams of finely ground herb these are the temperatures where I got the best flavor and vapor production.

You’ll get the most out of the Airvape Xs GO if you’re new to using dry herb vapes and/or want a device that is easy to carry around.

AirflowXs GO Temperature Setting

One of my favorite parts about this device is its airflow. While other vapes I’ve used have been way too airy in their draw, the Xs GO has a nice, tight draw that requires some effort to pull. I much prefer my vapes to have this sort of  draw style as I find that it cooks your herbs better while also delivering a more concentrated flavor.

If you prefer your draw to be more loose and airy then this isn’t the vape for you. However, if you like a bit of resistance in your pull you’ll really like the way that this vapes.

Battery Life

It’s got a 1200mAh battery built-in and this equated to 4-5 sessions. For a device of this size and weight that’s pretty good. If you’re taking it out with you for a day it will last you enough sessions to make it home. If you’re really using it heavy though, it does have pass-thru charging that allows you to vape it while it charges. From dead, I timed around 45 minutes for the device to fully charge.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Maintaining this device is simple. For one, you should empty out the oven after each session to reduce the amount of residue build up. Secondly, to keep the device running at its best I would recommend cleaning out the oven and mouthpiece every few weeks. To do this you can use a Q-tip and dip it in isopropyl alcohol. Swab out the oven gently to get out any residue. As for the mouthpiece, you can submerge it in isopropyl alcohol for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it with warm water. That’s all there is to it!

VerdictAIRVAPE XS GO Review

The AirVape Xs GO is an impressive vape at its price point. It’s small, very light and appropriately discreet. The vapor quality is good and the flavor is decent but it could definitely benefit from a ceramic or glass mouthpiece. Battery life is very good and it’s super easy to use.

More experienced vapers looking for optimal vapor quality and advanced features will find the device lacking. However, if you’re a beginner searching for their first device or someone who wants a device that is super small and light then the Xs GO will hit the spot.

  • I can’t get mine to work! 😫 maybe I didn’t grind my herb enough? It turns on, gets hot then I take a draw and nothing! I
Was able to take a couple hits at first but now nothing. I’ve only had it a couple days so I’m sure I just need to fine tune my method. Finer grind, 3-4 bars. 🤞
