The bottom line
I think that the Digital Box 12000 vapes really well but the one thing bringing down the score is the battery life. These are quite compact as is, so a larger battery (even if only 150-250mAh larger) could have been implemented while still keeping the device pretty small and light. They’re really great to vape with and the flavors are superb, but having to charge them pretty much every day gets to be a hassle.
Otherwise, the Digital Box 12000 is a good device. There are plenty of flavors, they’re small and light, and the way that they vape makes me want to continue using them. They’re so simple to use that really anyone can pick one up, whether they’re new to vaping or just not tech-savvy.
I can recommend the Digital Box 12000, but only to those who have easy access to a charger. This isn’t a great vape for long road trips.
Fumot is a company that specializes in disposable vapes and custom vape hardware. If you’re not familiar with Fumot you may have heard of the RandM brand, which Fumot is the parent company of.
Between the two brands, Fumot and RandM, they offer over a dozen different disposable vapes which range from 600 puffs all the way up to 15000 puffs. In this review, I’ll be testing out the Fumot Digital Box 12000, a device that offers up to 12000 puffs.
Nowadays, 12000 puffs is nothing too crazy or even impressive, but the puff count is not what caught my eye about the Digital Box 12000. What did is that it’s available in forty-eight flavors – now that is impressive.
The Digital Box 12000 comes with 20ml of ejuice and features both e-liquid and battery indicators. It has a 550mAh battery that recharges with Type-C charging and it’s available in four nicotine salt strengths (0%, 2%, 3%, and 5%).
- Size: 89.7mm x 46.7mm x 27mm
- Weight: 67g
- Filled with 20ml of ejuice
- Mesh Coil
- 550mAh Rechargeable battery
- Type-C Charging
- 12000 Puffs per device
- 0%, 2%, 3%, or 5% Nicotine content
- Draw activated
- MTL draw
- 48 Flavors
Design & Build Quality
The first thing that I noticed about the Digital Box 12000 is the picture of a monkey on each one. I knew that I had seen these monkeys somewhere but I couldn’t quite place them at first. After jogging my memory a bit and doing some research, it turns out that these pictures are similar to the “Bored Ape Yacht Club” NFT’s that were hugely popular a few years back.
There’s a different monkey on each flavor and each monkey is outfitted differently to match the color of the flavor. However, from what I’ve gathered, none of these are straight copies of the NFT images and are instead made using a similar generator. To put it in another way, the monkeys have the same articles of clothing such as hats and glasses, but none of them are an exact match for any of the Bored Ape Yact Club NFT’s.
I think that these monkeys are quite artful and for anyone into NFT’s, they can be a good conversation starter. For anyone else, they’re just cool pictures of fashionably dressed monkeys.
These disposables are little and compact for the 20ml of ejuice that they come with. They’re each around 90mm tall, 47mm wide and 27mm thick and weigh 67g. That’s easily on the smaller scale of disposable vapes today and I found them to be very portable and easily carried around.
The plastic body has some flex and doesn’t feel very rigid or durable but so far all of my devices have remained in one piece. They’ve received a few scratches and scuff marks but this hasn’t affected the usability or performance.
The one-piece plastic body meets a plastic bezel that surrounds the bottom of each device. This bezel is finished in a chrome plating. In between the two pieces, where they meet, is a small oval display. It’s a simple screen that shows a battery life readout, and a droplet icon for your ejuice level.
On the front of the device, above the monkey picture, is a Fumot logo. On the back there’s a Digital Box 12000 logo and the flavor printed below it.
The bottom of each device has a Type-C charging port, an airflow inlet hole, and a blue LED light.
Features
The Digital Box 12000 is a disposable that doesn’t offer a lot of adjustability and it doesn’t have many noteworthy features either. If you were hoping for adjustable airflow and adjustable wattage then you’re going to be disappointed.
What the Digital Box 12000 does offer is this: 20ml of ejuice, up to 12000 puffs, a mesh coil, battery and ejuice indicators, 48 flavors, and a 550mAh battery.
These disposables are also available in four different nicotine strengths, which is more than I can say for most other disposables on the market. You can get the Digital Box 12000 in 0%, 2%, 3%, and 5% nicotine strengths.
The battery and ejuice indicators are very simple. Only the battery indicator is displayed as a number, while the ejuice level indicator is displayed as a droplet icon. Within this droplet icon are four bars; two green, one blue, and one red bar. Fumot doesn’t describe exactly what each bar represents as far as how much ejuice but it’s probably safe to assume that each one is 25%.
The 550mAh battery is a lot smaller than I expected for a new disposable vape, even when considering the small size of the Digital Box 12000. Battery life is all-around average as a result of the small battery and I’ve been killing off a full charge in a day to a day and a half.
Charging speed isn’t much better either, taking an hour for a full charge. An hour wouldn’t be too bad for a larger battery but a small 550mAh battery should recharge more quickly than in an hour.
Flavors
One big thing that the Digital Box 12000 has going for it is the large selection of flavors. I won’t list them all because it will take up an entire page but just know that there are a lot of flavors; forty-eight to be exact. There’s 6 blueberry-mix flavors, 8 strawberry-mix flavors, and a whole bunch more.
I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.
Lush Ice
This tastes like a standard lush ice flavor with an authentic watermelon flavor and a bit of ice, like a 4/10 coolness level. I like this flavor and can see it as an all day vape for those who like watermelon flavored vapes.
Pink Lemonade
As the name of the flavor says, this is a true pink lemonade flavor with no surprises. There’s a bit of sourness from the lemonade and a perfect sweetness to level it out. It’s quite refreshing to vape on during a hot day and makes a good replacement for the sugary drink. Remember to still drink plenty of water though!
Kiwi Passionfruit Guava
I think that Fumot got the balance of these fruits down just right with this flavor. Guava is the strongest, followed by passionfruit and kiwi. Maybe this should have been called Guava Passionfruit Kiwi instead! It tastes very tropical and it’s just sweet enough. I get a little bit of cooling but no more than Lush Ice, maybe a 3/10 coolness level. Love this flavor.
Blueberry On Ice
A lot of the time, blueberry flavors are mixed with raspberry but not here – and I like it. The blueberry flavor is natural, with just a touch of cooling (4/10 coolness). This isn’t as sweet as a candied blueberry flavor would be and that’s nice if you prefer an authentic blueberry flavor. Thumbs up from me.
Strawberry Watermelon
This flavor mixes between a strong watermelon flavor and a medium-level strawberry flavor all throughout the draw. Watermelon is the immediate flavor that I taste on the inhale, followed by strawberry, and then it repeats. I think that the strawberry flavor could be stronger and this would make this flavor better but watermelon lovers should try this one out.
How do they vape?
The Digital Box 12000 comes in four different nicotine strengths. I received my test units in the highest strength, 5%, and I was expecting them to be way too strong to vape on all day but I was wrong. They’re very smooth while still producing a nice throat hit and level of satisfaction that you can feel. They don’t make me feel like I’m getting too much nicotine at once so the draw is perfect.
There’s no adjustable airflow but the tight mouth-to-lung draw feels just right for the warmth and density of vapor that these put out. It’s not a struggle to activate them and it feels natural to vape and get a nice draw. The draw might be a little too tight for some vapers preference so an airflow control dial or switch would have definitely been nice to have. But if you’re a tight MTL vaper you shouldn’t have an issue with the airflow.
Verdict
I think that the Digital Box 12000 vapes really well but the one thing bringing down the score is the battery life. These are quite compact as is, so a larger battery (even if only 150-250mAh larger) could have been implemented while still keeping the device pretty small and light. I can recommend the Digital Box 12000, but only to those who have easy access to a charger. This isn’t a great vape for long road trips.
