Artrix Glassic Review: An Excellent Device for Live Resin & Rosin

When I used the Artrix Wavvy, I was super impressed by its compact size. Receiving the Artrix Glassic and finding it even smaller was simply shocking. Whether you purchase the 0.5ml or 1ml tank capacity, the device remains the same size and shape.

The Artrix Glassic is extremely portable and fits in your palm, even if you have small hands. The Glassic measures just 56mm tall, 34.5mm wide, and 14mm thick. It’s also extremely lightweight, weighing just 25g.

If size, weight, and portability matter to you, the Artrix Glassic is an excellent choice. My pockets are often too small and hardly useful. However, they are perfect for the Glassic.

The device itself has a unique and interesting design. The entire battery housing is made of polycarbonate plastic that is essentially break-proof. The plastic case forms an almost C-shape. The plastic portion wraps around and caps off at the top and bottom of the all-glass tank. With these two components, the device forms an oval shape.

The tank is made of food-grade borosilicate glass that is thick enough to handle a few drops without cracking. The tank offers a 360° view that allows you to track your concentrate level down to the last drop.

Inside the tank, you will notice that it is a post-free design and instead features a flat mesh ceramic core. This design ensures a clean vaping experience and eliminates the chances of any metal leaching.

When viewing the front of the device (with the glass tank on the left), you’ll notice a small display screen centered with a single button below it. The button features the Artrix logo, but if you’re a brand, I’m sure they could make this your logo instead.

When looking at the back of the device, it looks similar to the front. Instead of a screen and a button, the back simply features a Glassic logo along with a beehive pattern printed in gold. For brands, though, Artrix offers extensive customization options, so you can have the design look however you like.

The upper part of the device functions as both the cap, which seals the device after loading your concentrate, and the mouthpiece.

The device’s rounded edges provide a very comfortable grip, and the rounded mouthpiece also feels pleasant to use. During my experience, I found the rounded edges to be very comfortable, and I had no trouble with the size or shape of the mouthpiece.

When the device needs to be recharged, you can use the Type-C charging port on the bottom of the device.

How to use the Artrix Glassic

Like all other Artrix devices, you are required to supply your own concentrate material as well as a few tools to make loading mess-free.

To fill the Glassic, you’ll need your favorite live-resin or live-rosin concentrate. I strongly suggest purchasing one sold in an easy-to-use syringe. Next, you’ll need to purchase some 18-gauge needles. If you don’t already have them, you can buy them on Amazon for around $10.

Once you have the tools and your concentrate, follow these steps to get your device ready to vape.

Step 1

Attach an 18-inch gauge needle to your extract syringe by twisting it on. Insert the needle roughly two-thirds into the tank. Squeeze the syringe’s top to fill. If the substance is thick and difficult to squeeze, consider heating the glass syringe with a lighter—only if it’s glass—and take care to avoid burns. Heating made loading my device easier, but proceed cautiously.

Step 2

Position the mouthpiece on top of the device and snap it into place. For an easier time, put the device on a flat surface and use both hands to press on each side of the mouthpiece until it clicks into place. Artrix suggests waiting up to 180 seconds after filling before attaching the mouthpiece.

Step 3

After filling and capping your device, allow it to sit for at least 4 hours before use. Keep the rubber stopper in the mouthpiece if you won’t use it immediately. For first-time use, remove and discard the rubber stopper. Artrix recommends using up the material within two weeks of initial use.

Features & Functions

The Artrix Glassic is a super simple, incredibly beginner-friendly device. It also has a couple of interesting features.

This is the first Artrix device I have used with a full glass tank. Borosilicate glass eliminates the risk of the tank interacting with your terpenes, a problem more often seen in PCTG tanks.

The Artrix Glassic is designed specifically for more viscous materials, like live resin and live rosin. As a result, it offers only two lower-voltage settings: 1.8V and 2.0V. Keeping the device at a lower temperature will give you the most out of your materials. This will give you the best flavor without burning off terpenes.

The single button on the Artrix Glassic does everything. The button combinations are as follows:

• 5 Clicks: Power On/Off
• 3 Clicks: Switch voltage setting
• 2 Clicks: Preheat mode
• 1 Click: Wake screen

To turn your device on or off, press the button 5 times. To wake the device and turn on the display screen, press the button once.

To access the voltage settings, press the button three times to switch between the 1.8V and 2.0V settings.

When you are in the 1.8V setting, the display screen will show a white flame symbol at the top. When you switch to the 2.0V setting, the flame symbol will cycle through red, blue, and green. I’m not entirely sure what this means, but it looks really cool.

Once you have selected your desired voltage setting, you can take a puff. You can also use the preheat option by pressing the button twice. This will start a 6-second countdown that is shown on the screen. When the timer has run out, your device is preheated and ready to use.

Battery & Charging

The Artrix Glassic features a rather small 230mAh battery, but it has lasted me days of use without needing a recharge.

I like that the battery level is displayed on the screen at all times and is very clear and easy to read. If you look closely, the battery level is essentially a cell battery divided into three segments. I thought that was really cool and a nice detail.

When it is time to charge your device, simply use the Type-C charging port on the bottom of the device. The display will light up while charging to let you track your charging progress.

Performance

Since the Artrix Glassic is designed for more viscous materials such as live resin and live rosin and only features 1.8V or 2.0V settings, I was concerned the device wouldn’t heat my materials effectively.

I am happy to report that I was wrong. Not only did the Glassic heat my materials without issue, but I didn’t even need to use the 6-second preheat. While the option was nice to have and I sometimes used it, I didn’t find it necessary.

While the two voltage settings are subtle, I noticed a slight difference in the draw with each setting. The 1.8V setting offers a flavorful draw with cooler vapor. The 2.0V setting is a bit warmer and hits the throat a little more, while still remaining super flavorful.

Verdict

The Artrix Glassic is a great disposable option for users who are looking for a device to hold their favorite concentrates. This device is designed for more viscous materials like live resin and live rosin. The lower-voltage setting protects your material while heating it enough to deliver flavorful draws.

While I would say it does take a little bit of effort to get started, after setting up my device for the first time, I felt like a pro. As long as you have the right tools, even a new user can do this.

The display screen is really nice and shows you all the necessary information. You can track your battery level right on the screen. You can also see which voltage setting you have selected.

When you enter a preheat session, the 6-second timer appears on the screen to let you know when your device is preheated and ready to use.

My only issue with the entire device is the button. It’s quite small, which makes sense given the size of the device, but it can be a little difficult to press. I also noticed during my testing that when I pressed the button once to wake the device, it sometimes wouldn’t work. After pressing the button again, it would work, and I would have no issue with the button afterward, until I went to wake the device again.

If you are in the market for a small, portable, and inexpensive option for your live concentrates, I suggest giving the Artrix Glassic a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
