PROS

CONS

The GLIST Bar1 certainly lives up to my high expectations of what a THC vape should be. It brings all of the convenience of a disposable vape but with the added bonus of being able to fill it with your oil or distillate of choice. It’s very slim and light for maximum portability and the pencil-like design keeps it discreet and not easily recognizable as to what it really is.

For the small size, the flavor and vapor are better than you would expect. Since THC material is so expensive, you want to use it with a device that is going to get you the most out of it. Well, I can confidently say that you won’t be disappointed with what the GLIST Bar1 can deliver. When using terpene rich oil, like live resin, the flavor is excellent and I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on anything by using it in the GLIST Bar1 over another device.

It’s always a pleasure to review the latest THC vapes and in this case the GLIST Bar1 was yet another treat that I got to experience.

The CILICON GLIST Bar1 is one of a few new products that have recently been released by Cilicon. It’s a disposable THC oil vape with a 1ml tank that is meant to be filled with material, used, and thrown away once the material in the tank is finished. It’s also rechargeable so you can be sure that you won’t waste a thing.

The GLIST Bar1 uses CILICON’s “Reoregin” ceramic heating coil which aims to get the most out of your oil by adapting a lower vaporizing temperature and an even heat distribution system for maximum terpene flavor and aroma. The Glist Bar1 will output 7.7W and features a 290mAh rechargeable battery.

It’s worth noting that this product likely won’t be sold directly to consumers. Instead, Cilicon offers OEM services where companies can sell the GLIST Bar1 under their own brand name and also fill these with their own material.

The GLIST Bar1 was sent to me directly by CILICON for the purpose of this review. This does not affect my thoughts or opinions in any way.

Design & Build Quality

  • CILICON GLIST Bar1 - 1

The CILICON GLIST Bar1 is a disposable vape, so the design shares some similarities with nicotine disposables. However, being a THC disposable, the GLIST Bar1 also has its fair share of differentiating features. In general, the GLIST Bar1 is a simple and unassuming device and that’s good for keeping things discrete.

Each device is available with either a 0.5ml or 1.0ml tank capacity. The larger 1.0ml version is slightly taller than the 0.5ml version at 112.90mm vs 102.1mm, but both versions are the same 12.60mm wide and deep. It’s very thin but still nice to hold. It also only weighs 19.2g so it’s extremely light.

The octagonal shape is comfortable in the hand and also helps to keep the device from rolling when placed down. When fully assembled with the mouthpiece attached, the GLIST Bar1 looks a lot like a thick pencil.

Like a lot of other THC vapes, the GLIST Bar1 has dual tank viewing windows so you can see into the tank and keep track of how much oil you have left. The window is tall and thin but still makes it easy to check on your tank.

  • CILICON GLIST Bar1 - 7

The tank in my review unit has a 1.0ml capacity and features a center post made of 316L stainless steel. The coil is CILICON’s new “Reoregin” ceramic heating coil and it’s supposed to be able to extract maximum terpene flavor from your material. It does this by vaporizing at lower temperatures and by evenly distributing heat.

The GLIST Bar1 features an LED indicator on the front of the device. On the bottom of the device there is a micro-USB charging port. For a new device I was expecting to see Type-C charging but since this is a disposable device I’ll cut it some slack. The battery is a decent 290mAh and the tank is only 1ml so you’re not going to be needing to recharge it multiple times.

You’ll likely get through the majority of the tank on a single charge so the charging port is really only there for you to charge it before the initial use, and for the one time you may have to charge it before the tank is finished.

How to use the GLIST Bar1

CILICON GLIST Bar1 - 6

CILICON will likely not be selling the GLIST Bar1 directly to consumers. Instead, it will be branded by another company and sold empty, or more likely it will be sold prefilled and branded by another company. Since I was sent these empty, and because on their website CILICON makes a point of mentioning the ease of attaching the mouthpiece, I’ll be detailing the filling process.

Filling is relatively straightforward with oil or distillates. You need a relatively skinny syringe because you have to place your syringe between the center post and the tank wall and there’s not a lot of room there, but with the right tools it’s easy to fill.

Once the tank is filled, the mouthpiece simply snaps on to the top of the tank. There are clips on the mouthpiece that slide into the tank so you have to line these up correctly, but it’s easy to figure it out by looking into the tank. There are two “flat” sides in the tank wall and this is where the clips attach. There’s a silicone gasket on the bottom of the mouthpiece to create a tight seal and prevent any possible leaking.

If you’re using a runny oil then CILICON suggests attaching the mouthpiece after 90 seconds. For thicker oils or distillates, snapping on the mouthpiece after 180 seconds is recommended.

Once the mouthpiece has been attached, wait for at least 30 minutes before using the device. If using a thicker oil or distillate, CILICON recommends waiting 4 hours before use. I filled my device and left it standing overnight just to be safe.

Once the tank and the mouthpiece is attached, there’s no way to get it back off without breaking the tabs on the mouthpiece. This is effectively a one-fill device with no real way of filling it and using it multiple times. The best way to think about the GLIST Bar1 is that it’s a disposable THC pen, only you can choose what to fill it with.

Performance

CILICON GLIST Bar1 - 4

CILICON states that their “Reoregin” ceramic coil technology works best with live resin oils because it’s meant to extract the maximum flavor and aroma from the terpenes. Luckily, I was able to get my hands on some live resin oil for this review. Since I was sent three of these GLIST Bar1 disposables, I also used a thicker distillate in my second unit.

The Bar1 outputs 7.7W and I found that to be more than adequate for both the live resin oil and the distillate. Both delivered a cool draw with ample vapor for a dangerously smooth draw. The flavor is also notably improved from previous CILICON devices that I have tried. I taste a lot of the flavor from the terpenes in my live resin oil which is nice because this stuff is expensive!

Even with the thicker distillate, the Bar1 wicked effectively and proved to be up to the challenge. It also did not leak with the thinner live resin oil, so it’s good on both ends of the spectrum. This is what you want, of course, when using a THC vape as the material itself is quite expensive. You want to use a device that isn’t going to waste it and the GLIST Bar1 has done a good job of proving its worth during my testing.
