Our Verdict

Just like the Aspire Breeze and Breeze 2 were some of the best pod vapes available at the time of their release, I think that the performance of the Cyber S places it among the best pod vapes that you can get right now in early 2023. Using either of the two included pods will allow you to get either a MTL or loose MTL vape, along with great flavor and the ability to vape both freebase or nicotine salt ejuices alike.

One thing that could be improved though is the quality of the paint. The metal side of the Cyber S quickly starts to look worn out just from a few weeks of day to day use, even if you’re being careful with it. Other than this cosmetic flaw, the Cyber S is an overall solid pod vape that really delivers on everything that a pod vape should be — flavorful, consistent, and easy to use.

Whether you’re a beginner looking for your first pod vape or a vaper who is looking for a new everyday device, the Aspire Cyber S is a pod vape that you should consider. Highly recommended.

Aspire is a vaping company that has been around since 2013. In the last ten years, Aspire has released numerous hyper-popular products but they are maybe best known as the brand behind the “Breeze” pod devices and the Nautilus series of tanks.

Recently, Aspire has released their new “Cyber” series of pod devices which includes the Cyber G, Cyber X, and the Cyber S. The last one is the one that I will be reviewing today.

The Cyber S has a futuristic design with a transparent front shell which allows you to see the innards of the device. It features both button and auto-draw activation, as well as the ability to adjust your airflow between two modes just by turning the pod 180°. The Cyber S has a 700mAh built-in battery which recharges with Type-C 2A charging.

Included in the box are two pods: a 0.8Ω pod and a 1.0Ω pod, both of which have the coils built-in.

Design & Build Quality

  • Aspire Cyber S - 1

The Cyber S is described by Aspire as being futuristic, stylish, and portable and I have to say that I agree with their description. It definitely gives off a “from the future” vibe with its transparent front shell which allows you to see some of the innards of the device. You can also see a holographic panel through the clear shell, so it has a cool look too.

In regards to the portability, it’s a nice size and weight for taking around with you. At 118.5mm tall, 24mm wide, and 16mm thick, the Cyber S is a bit tall for a pod vape but it’s overall still a nice size. It feels good in the hand and it’s comfortable to use with either index or thumb firing. And at 54.5g, it has a nice weight to it but it isn’t heavy.

The clear front shell allows you to see right through where the pod connects and since the pod is clear, you have a full view of your pod contents at all times. Pods attach magnetically and drop into place with a firm connection.

The power button is circular with an aspire “a” logo and this button is encircled by an LED ring. The LED ring lights up in one of three colors each time that you take a draw and this tells you your battery life. The power button feels firm and clicky and really adds to the high-quality feel of this device. The LED ring also adds to the quality look and feel as the ring is crisp, bright, and just makes the Cyber S look more high-end.

The back side of the Cyber S looks like a completely different device. There’s no clear shell here and instead it’s a metal casing. The color of this case depends on the color that you get and in all there are five colors to choose from: black, silver, blue, green, and red.

This metal casing side is pretty bare, with only a printed aspire logo on it. The paint could be better quality because my black unit is already starting to look pretty beat up and that’s just from being on my desk and in and out of my pockets. I can see lots of scratches and scuff marks on the paint and it makes the device look like I’ve had it for months, not weeks.

Pods

  • Aspire Cyber S - Pods

The Cyber S uses replaceable pods that have the coil built into them. These pods are compatible with both of Aspire’s Cyber series pod vape devices, which includes the Cyber S and Cyber X. The Cyber G uses different style pods so these pods are not compatible with that device.

Two pods come included with the Cyber S: a 0.8Ω pod and a 1.0Ω pod. The pods, including the mouthpiece, are completely clear so it’s easy to see where your ejuice level is at. The pods are side filled by removing the rubber plug to open up the fill port. I had no trouble filling the pods with 30ml, 60ml, or 100ml ejuice bottles.

While there is no fine tune airflow adjustment, you can adjust the airflow on the Cyber S by removing the pod, turning it 180°, and reinserting it into the device. If you insert the side of the pod that is labeled with the coil resistance facing the front button side of the device, it’s a loose MTL draw. Inserting the pod the other way around delivers a tight MTL draw.

Both pods deliver the same sort of airflow and both pods are compatible with either freebase or nicotine salt ejuices.

Features & Functions

The Cyber S is a relatively simple device, without many options or settings to adjust. As mentioned in the previous section, you can change the airflow between two modes by rotating the pod 180°.

Another noteworthy feature is that the Cyber S is a constant output device, meaning that it outputs 3.4V at all times and the draw does not get significantly weaker until the battery is nearly dead. This makes for a more consistent vaping experience as each draw will be just as strong as the last for the majority of the time that you are vaping with it.

The Cyber S also features both button and auto-draw vaping. You can choose which of these vaping modes is active by pressing the power button three times and leave both enabled or just one or the other.

When you press the fire button three times, there are two LED lights located below the power button which will light up. By pressing the power button you can toggle the vaping modes as follows:

  • Two LED lights: Both button and auto-draw vaping are enabled.
  • Left LED light only: Only button activated vaping is enabled. Draw activation will not work.
  • Right LED only: Only draw activated vaping is enabled. Button activation will not work.

The power button is quite firm and so I didn’t have any incidents of it accidentally activating in my pocket. I just left both draw modes activated while I used the Cyber S, allowing me to use whichever vaping mode I felt like using. If you’re a vaper who really prefers using either button or draw activation only then you can turn the other vaping mode off.

Battery & Charging

Aspire Cyber S - 9

The Cyber S has a 700mAh built-in battery which recharges with Type-C charging. As I mentioned in the last section, the Cyber S is a constant output device that outputs 3.4V consistently until the battery is nearly dead. Even with the constant output, battery life is good and I got a couple days of vaping out of each charge which was about 2 full pods.

The LED ring around the power button lights up each time that you vape. It lights up in one of three colors, each of which indicates a different battery charge level:

  • Green: 60-100%
  • Blue: 30-60%
  • Red: Less than 30%

When the battery is completely dead the LED will flash red and it’s time to recharge the device. The Cyber S supports 2A Type-C charging and takes about 40 minutes for a full charge. It also supports pass-thru charging which allows you to vape on it while it recharges.

Performance

Aspire Cyber S - 8

The Cyber S is one of only a few Aspire devices that I’ve used since the Aspire Breeze and Breeze 2. With that being said, it’s easy to see that Aspire has been consistently improving on their product lineup. Just like the Aspire Breeze and Breeze 2 were some of the best pod vapes available at the time of their release, I think that the performance of the Cyber S places it among the best pod vapes that you can get right now in early 2023.

The constant output of 3.4V makes a huge positive difference to the vaping experience. It’s a consistent draw all the way until you get within 10-20 puffs of the battery dying. You get the same strength draw every time and that’s something that I really liked while using the Cyber S.

There isn’t a noticeable difference between the two pods other than the 0.8Ω pod hitting a little harder than the 1.0Ω pod. Both pods can be used with nicotine salts or freebase ejuices but I spent most of my review using 25mg nicotine salts with both pods.

Both airflow settings are nice but it really comes down to which one you prefer. I like the tighter MTL draw airflow setting for the pod but the loose MTL draw is very enjoyable as well. Draw activation works perfectly with the pod set to either airflow setting.

Flavor from both pods is equally good and the vapor is warm. I would give the flavor a 9 out of 10 for how well these pods bring out subtle notes in the ejuices and for how bold the flavor is overall. It’s really enjoyable to vape with these pods and I’m going to miss this device when I have to put it down for the next review.

I’m happy to report that I had no leaking with either pod, not even a drop. I also have no performance complaints about the Cyber S as it did not give me any trouble during my few weeks of use.

Verdict
