Due to a trademark dispute, ELFBAR has been rebranding their products in the USA as “EBDESIGN”. This means that you may see EBDESIGN branded devices instead of ELFBAR branded devices when shopping in-store or online. Aside from the name, nothing else has changed, and the performance remains the same.

Elfbar is a company that has been around for some time. They specialize in producing all manner of disposable vapes and in the last few years they have been constantly evolving and improving their devices. Unlike many other disposable companies who just do what they want with their products, it seems like Elfbar creates their devices based on what vapers want.

Why do I say this? Well, I have two of their latest disposables with me, the Elfbar BC3500 and the Elfbar 5000. Two things immediately seem great about these: one is that they are rechargeable through a Type-C port, so you can vape every bit of ejuice out of them. The second thing is that they provide a claimed 3500 and 5000 puffs, respectively.

The fact that they are rechargeable and deliver more puffs than 90% of disposables out there makes these extremely attractive for a consumer. But that’s just the facts on paper. Do they perform well enough in practice to be worth purchasing?

Design & Build Quality

  • ELFBAR BC3500

The Elfbar BC3500 and BC5000 look almost the exact same, the only difference is that the BC5000 is 10mm taller. These aren’t shaped like your usual pen-style disposables. Instead they look more like small pod vapes. The BC3500 is 69mm tall, 41mm wide, and 19mm thick. The BC5000 is 79mm tall but otherwise it has the same dimensions and appearance.

I’m a fan of how these look. They feature a soft touch body with a shiny plastic mouthpiece and base. The soft touch part features a colorway with a 2 color fade that dictates the flavor inside. For instance, the ‘Strawberry Kiwi’ flavor fades from pink to green. If the color isn’t enough to tell them apart (sometimes it isn’t), the flavor is also printed on the front, along with a large prominent ELFBAR.

Although these aren’t pen shaped, they are portable – but to a point. Bringing one or two with you in your pocket isn’t an issue, but any more than that and you’ll notice them on you. That’s a change from other lightweight, slim disposables that you can take 5 or 6 without them weighing you down.

But these aren’t larger for no reason. The BC3500 comes prefilled with 10.5ml of ejuice and will last you 3500 puffs, while the BC5000 comes prefilled with 13ml of ejuice and will last you 5000 puffs. That’s more ejuice than any other disposable I have heard of.

    ELFBAR BC5000

These are both filled with 5% (50mg) strength nicotine salt and they pack a 650mAh built in battery. At this point you might be thinking “But 650mAh doesn’t seem large enough to vape 13ml of ejuice before it dies”, and you would be right. That’s why both the BC3500 and BC5000 are rechargeable through a Type-C port located at the bottom of the device.

I’ve been using these for a few weeks now and up to this point, none of them have died or even feel like the draw is becoming weaker so I can’t say how long they last before you have to recharge them. But what I can say is that when these do eventually die you won’t have to toss them. Just plug em’ into a charger and you can vape all the ejuice out of these.

Each time you take a puff, a white LED on the bottom lights up. These are draw activated and just require pulling on the mouthpiece to start vaping. Overall I really like the soft touch body on these and they look good. The build quality is very solid and they really feel like pod vapes rather than disposables. When I think about it, they really are  a lot more like prefilled pod vapes than disposables.

FlavorsElfbar BC5000 Disposables 4

The BC3500 and BC5000 both come in 12 flavors. These flavors are the same for both devices. They are a mix of fruit, menthol, and drink flavors so there’s a bit of something for everyone. For this review I was sent all 12 flavors; 6 in the BC3500 and 6 in the BC5000. Most of these flavors have some level of menthol, even if just very slight, so that’s something to factor into your purchase decision.

I will describe how each one tastes to me and what I think of the flavors. If I like a flavor, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will like it, and vice versa. This is just my opinion.

Strawberry Kiwi

As the name says, this is a strawberry and kiwi blend. The kiwi is a bit stronger than the strawberry and comes through from the inhale all the way to the exhale. Strawberry takes a backseat to the kiwi but I can still taste it. Sweetness is medium. Overall it’s a nice fruity flavor.

Peach Mango Watermelon

There is a light menthol to this flavor. Mango is the most prominent flavor, followed by a subtle mix of peach and watermelon. I would like the peach to be stronger but it’s still quite tasty. Another good fruit flavor here.

Cranberry Grape

This has a medium menthol and it’s mostly a grape flavor as far as I can taste. The cranberry isn’t discernible on its own, but it’s a very subtle flavor that I can only taste on the exhale. I like what the cranberry adds to this flavor though. However subtle, it gives this an interesting twist to a plain grape flavor.

Mango Peach

Like Peach Mango Watermelon, this is mostly a mango flavor. The peachy flavor is very light, but it does add a nice change to an otherwise straight mango taste. The peach comes through mostly on the inhale and disappears on the exhale. If you’re after peach flavor then you might be disappointed, but it’s a pretty good vape.

Red Mojito

This is a flavor which I think that they really nailed. You immediately taste the rum/alcohol flavor, a light mint, lime, and cranberry all mixed together. The rum taste is the most prominent but the other flavors complement it well. It’s a very different flavor than I’m used to vaping but it’s enjoyable. Some other members of the team said that they thought it tasted like cough syrup and I can kind of see their point, but I don’t think it tastes bad. This is a love it or hate it flavor.

Watermelon Ice

Watermelon Ice has one of the strongest menthol kicks of the bunch and a very sweet watermelon flavor. I think this is too sweet to vape all day and I can only vape it here and there for a few puffs at a time. If the sugary sweetness was toned down I could see this being a good all day vape but as it is now, it’s a ‘only sometimes’ vape for me.

Sakura Grape

This is a strong menthol flavor with a mix of a cherry blossom taste and grape. It’s a light and refreshing flavor. These two flavors complement each other nicely and bring yet another unique flavor profile that I haven’t ever tasted. This flavor is also very sweet so again, not an all day vape for me, but good nonetheless.

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

There’s a light to medium menthol in this flavor. I taste kiwi, closely followed by guava. The passion fruit flavor is missing but I like the kiwi and guava together. Guava is the strongest flavor but it’s delicious and natural tasting. The sweetness is just right and I can vape this flavor all day without issue.

Blue Razz Ice

This is a classic flavor that every disposable manufacturer has to have in their arsenal in order to compete. The menthol is medium-strong but that’s a hallmark of this flavor so it’s to be expected. The blue raspberry is sweet but not overdone. It’s a decent flavor but I’ve had better blue razz vapes. Not bad but not amazing.

Lemon Mint

There is a medium mint taste here and the lemon is extremely on point. It’s a very natural lemon taste without the sourness. I really like this flavor, it’s addicting to vape on. Lemon flavors are not too commonly seen in disposables so I commend Elfbar for taking a risk and creating this one.

Strawberry Mango

The strawberry is muddled in this flavor and I really only taste a dull mango taste. There are hints of what could be strawberry, but it’s not clearly discernible. This flavor could use some work. This is one of my least flavors of the lot.

Energy

This flavor is oddly good. It tastes like a sort of altered RedBull. It definitely has an energy drink taste to it mixed with a medium-strong menthol. I can’t quite put my finger on the taste but it’s oddly likeable. You’ll have to taste this one and decide for yourself.

How Do They Vape?Elfbar BC3500 BC5000 Disposables 1

Elfbar’s BC3500 and BC5000 both perform identically. As I mentioned earlier, the only difference is in the ejuice that they come with (10.5ml and 13ml respectively). Otherwise, they vape the exact same. Personally I would go for the BC5000 over the BC3500 only because of the increased ejuice capacity but if you want something slightly more portable I could see this as a reason for picking up the BC3500.

These come with 5% nicotine salt as the only available strength. They hit like other 5% disposables with a strong and present draw and throat hit. They’re very satisfying to vape on, and not too much even for someone like myself who vapes on 25mg-35mg nic salts regularly. I can easily use these without choking up or reaching for my more powerful pod vapes.

I haven’t noticed any of these getting weaker as the battery died and none of the batteries have completely depleted yet. They’re all still going strong and functioning perfectly with no malfunctions or issues to speak of.

These give a loose mouth to lung draw which will be perfect for someone looking to quit smoking. It’s not too tight that you struggle to pull, but not too loose either. It’s a good middle ground.

Verdict

Elfbar have created a really appealing disposable that ticks off all of the right boxes. It has a larger ejuice capacity than 90%, maybe even 95% of the market. Where most disposables are filled with 2ml of ejuice, these will last you 5 or 6 times as long depending on the model that you choose. And the battery capacity won’t be an obstacle to vaping all of the ejuice in them because you can simply recharge them like you would a pod vape.

Even if these were 3 or 4 times the price of a typical disposable, they would still be a good buy for someone looking for something reliable, effective, and easy to use. For the most part the flavors are all really good, but they pretty much all have menthol. If you’re not into menthol or mint vapes then you have limited options to choose from.

As a whole I think that the Elfbar BC3500 and BC5000 are some of the most solid disposables on the market today and I can easily recommend trying them.

    • The light doesn’t come on when charging, but when you remove the cable it will blink 3 times so at least you know it was connected properly.

      • On my left arm bc 5000 vales, the light always illuminates while plugged in and charging. Does on all mine, I have 4 of them. They all also flash 3 times when I unplug the cable. Elfbar are really really good disposables, best I’ve used thus far, far superior to the other disposables.

  • How long should i leave it on the charger? i don’t want to burn out the battery or damage the device in any way, but would leaving it on the charger over night do this?

  • So the flavor went out, i got a new one and left my old one in my purse, well it made a weird noise so i went to get it out and it was lit up. the light won’t turn off. what am i supposed to do ?

  • Loved it at first but now I don’t just got it Friday it’s only Wenesdsy and it’s already tasting burnt I don’t use it much and I don’t hut it hard I hate that burnt coil taste

    • I hate the same thing that’s one huge issue with disposables I’ve tried so many diff ways to avoid this from happening but sadly it’s seems to be a part of a disposable vape world. I use to buy a new one every few days which cost me more then smoking dud bc I wanted that strong fresh flavor that u get off the first pull, bc first the flavor is perfect. I wish they had a refillable bc I have a different vape and to avoid that burnt taste I just refill the pod at the half way point and it’s the same taste non stop.. THEY DEF SHOULD SELL REFILLABLE VAPES THERE FLAVORS R ONPOINT AND AMAZING

  • can you please let me know the names of the few that have No Menthol-ish taste? I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks

  • I like alot of the different flavors on the bc5000 however I’m not getting nearly 5000 hits off it and it turns to burnt taste I only had 1 out of 10 leak however that burnt taste after a while is nasty and I’m gonna have to look into something else, but atleast I was able to quit smoking with these.

    • Yes! And they burn out differently so you don’t know how long one will last. I may have plenty of hits left, but the desire to hit it is another thing. I end up throwing them out due to the burnt coil. However all rechargeable vapes I’ve used do the same.

    • Your always gonna get some residual smoke like come out after a small or a big puff. That’s on any vapes really. With my experience with all different ones.

  • My BC5000 GUMI hits just fine, tastes just fine, and charges just fine, but it stays illuminated constantly. Just bought it two days ago. What’s wrong with it? Please and thank you..

  • I got elfbar 5000, blue raspberry 20mg. But it hits more strong than youto thanos 50mg. Can anyone please tell the issue?

  • I just bought one of these products and I used it for 2 days it is not allowing me to charge it and I’m feeling like this is a waste what charger does it take it blinks 3 times but never green to indicate a charge
