The Geek Bar X5500 is one of the many devices from Geekvape’s disposable line, Geek Bar. Geek Bar has been releasing disposables left and right, including the B5000, E600 and also the X6000 which looks very similar to the X5500.

Each Geek Bar X5500 comes filled with 12ml of e-juice in 50mg nicotine strength. They have a 630mAh battery that is rechargeable using Type C charging and they are rated for up to 5500 puffs each.

Design & Build Quality

  • Geekbar X5500 Disposables - 1

The Geek Bar X5500 has a simple and really clean design that is also very vibrant. The exterior of the device is made up of two pieces, both made of plastic. The two pieces are made up of a glossy bright colored body and a matte, pastel colored mouthpiece. The area where these two pieces connect is seamless. Overall, these are very well made devices.

The X5500 stands at 100mm tall and has a diameter of 23mm, so they are on the bigger side of disposables. They aren’t over-sized by any means, but I would still call them chunky. Given that they have a decent sized battery and a large e-juice capacity, the size of the device is understandable.

The chunky shape does feel very comfortable to hold and the X5500 fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. However the size does make it a little difficult to take multiples of them with you on the go. If you are the type of person that only uses one device at a time, then there shouldn’t be an issue fitting it in a pocket.

The X5500 has a duck-billed mouthpiece shape which is very comfortable to draw on. The matte mouthpiece drapes down and covers the first 10 mm of the body of the device. This is where the mouthpiece meets up with the glossy plastic body. The device is very clean and has very minimal markings.

On the front of the device you can find the GB logo encased in a box, printed in a silver color. Just below that you will find the flavor printed in a darker gray color. With more and more companies making disposables without labeling the flavor on the device, I am happy to report that is not the case with the X5500. On the back there is another logo, this time the full Geek Bar logo encased in a box, printed in the same silver color.

Geekbar X5500 Disposables - Type C Charging Port

The bottom of the device is flat which allows the device to stand up. This is also where you can find the Type C charging port. Each X5500 comes with a built-in rechargeable 650mAh battery that allows you to recharge as often as needed to make sure you get all of the e-juice out before needing to toss the device.

Also at the bottom of the device is a small pinhole opening for the LED light. The light is white but the color of the device does affect how the light shows up. For the purple colored Mixed Fruit Shisha flavor it is purple, but for the blue colored Polar Ice Mint the color is blue, etc.

There is also a tiny slit opposite the LED that is the airflow hole. I tested to see how much of a difference it makes to the airflow when that hole is blocked, and  it is almost impossible to draw on the device. So just be mindful of that, however the location doesn’t really cause too much concern for me to block it as it’s at the bottom of the device and the height of the X5500 doesn’t really allow my fingers to cover it.

I do really like the design of the Geek Bar X5500 and have nothing to complain about. All of the devices I used for the purpose of this review worked without issue. The X5500 is indeed a well-built device that is comfortable to hold and draw on.

Flavors

Geekbar X5500 Disposables - 2

The Geek Bar X5500 is available in 12 flavor options. These flavors are:

  • Tropical Skittles Blast
  • Tropical Fruit
  • Watermelon Ice
  • Blueberry Milkshake
  • Orange Mango Guava
  • Pineapple Coconut Milk
  • Strawberry Lemonade
  • Polar Ice Mint
  • Mixed Fruit Shisha
  • Berry Trip
  • Forest Berry
  • Green Apple Kiwi

The flavors are all very different and there is truly something for everyone. They have candy options (Tropical Skittles Blast), fruit (Orange Mango Guava), iced (Watermelon Ice), mint (Polar Ice Mint) and even a shisha (Mixed Fruit Shisha) flavor. I appreciate that they have a wide range of choices as not everyone loves a mint or iced flavored device, and not everyone is looking for an all-sweet, all-fruit range of flavors.

I’m going to describe how each flavor tastes to me and what I think of them. Keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it, and vice-versa. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Tropical Skittles Blast

This flavor is a good one. Picture this, you have a bag of tropical skittles and you reach into it, grab a handful and pop them into your mouth. That is what this flavor tastes like and I am loving it.

Tropical Fruit

This flavor definitely tastes like a mixed fruit bowl. I can’t exactly pinpoint any individual fruit flavors but I think I’m tasting strawberries. It’s one of the stronger flavors and has a cooling effect on the exhale.

Pineapple Coconut Milk

This one was my favorite, hands down. I loved the pineapple flavor on the inhale with the coconut flavor creeping up as it sat on the tongue. I did not taste much of the milk flavor but you can tell it’s there, just really subtle.

Polar Ice Mint

This one is super minty, almost like brushing your teeth or chewing gum. I am not a fan of mint flavored disposables myself, but if you are looking for a strong mint flavor then I strongly suggest picking one up.

Mixed Fruit Shisha

This was one of the most interesting flavors I have ever tried. It truly tastes like shisha and is really good. I really like how the tobacco and the mixed fruit blend together creating a really interesting flavor that lingers long after the exhale.

Performance

Geekbar X5500 Disposables - 3

The X5500 offers an airy loose MTL draw, which I have to admit was a little too light for me. It was by no means a bad device to use, and the 50mg nicotine did satisfy me, but I prefer a much more dense vape. I also would have liked to see the X5500 come in a 20mg nicotine strength, as the 50mg may be too strong for some vapers.

Each device worked without any issue and I had no issues with drawing on the device. Each time I went to take a draw on any of the devices I used for this review, they worked. I also never had any dry hits and I found that the built in coil wicks very well. The LED also worked on each device.

Verdict

The Geek Bar X5500 is a well-built disposable that comes in very vibrant colors and there are a wide range of flavors available. With this range of flavors, there really is something for everyone. They come with 12ml of ejuice, which means you’ll get a lot of vaping time out of each one. The 50mg nicotine strength makes them perfect for heavier smokers/vapers, and they deliver a high level of nicotine satisfaction.

Finally, they have a 630mAh battery, which may seem small for that amount of ejuice that they pack, but they are rechargeable using the Type C port located at the base of the device so you can be sure to get every last drop of ejuice out of them.

The only thing that I did not like about the X5500 was that the draw is very airy and I prefer a tighter and more dense draw. The loose MTL draw is satisfying though, and if you prefer a lighter, looser draw, then this may be the perfect disposable for you.

To sum it all up, I think the X5500’s are good disposables for someone looking to quit smoking as the flavors are good, and the high nicotine strength will cater to those looking to finally escape the stinkies. If that sounds like you, then what are you waiting for, make the switch!
