iJOY PUNK Disposables Review: These Disposables Rock!

The iJOY PUNK is the first disposable device from vaping brand, iJOY. It features a design that is more lively than your usual disposable; it’s a love it or hate it type of look. Each iJOY PUNK comes prefilled with 12ml of ejuice and a 1200mAh battery for 4500+ puffs. These house a 1.1Ω mesh coil inside, and this device will output a maximum of 11W. There are 25 flavors available.

iJOY is a brand that has been in the vaping industry for years. I reviewed their Katana mod back in 2019, but vapers may also know iJOY for their Captain 2 and Captain Link mods. Up until recently, I hadn’t heard much about the company, but it seems that they are looking to make a comeback on the vaping scene with their new disposable vapes.

Regular readers will know that I’m nothing but honest with my reviews. So the question I have for this vape is: are you feeling lucky, PUNK?

Design & Build Quality

The iJOY punk has a very ‘out-there’ design that is very different from other disposables. Before I get to that though, let me go over the general shape and size. This is a large disposable, but it’s not the largest that I’ve used. Each one is 106mm tall with a diameter of 26.5mm. It’s large to be sure, and it feels like holding a vape pen more than a disposable vape.

You can carry two of these at a time, but any more than that and you will feel their presence in your pocket. Due to the size, I tended to just use one at a time when I left the house.

I know you’re waiting to hear what I have to say about the design, so here it is; I’m conflicted. Each device has a clear casing, and underneath this clear case there is a layer with graffiti-esque, cartoonish designs. Each flavor has a different design, with the main color of the graffiti corresponding to the ‘color’ of the flavor. For instance, ‘Strawberry Ice’ is mostly red, while ‘Sunny Grape’ is green, like green grapes. 

I’m conflicted on whether I like the design or not. On one hand, it does look pretty cool. The graffiti is very unique and definitely artistically appealing. On the other hand, I feel like it’s appealing to a younger audience; dare I say one that may be too young to legally vape. It’s not to say that older vapers aren’t going to find it attractive, as I certainly do, but I can see these vapes being used as fuel for the ‘war against vaping’ fire.

Printed near the bottom of each device is the flavor. It’s printed in a chrome color, which is easy enough to see on four out of my five disposables, but it’s almost impossible to read on the “White Gummy” flavor, which has a yellow background.

Around the circumference of each disposable there is a stainless steel band with the iJOY logo. This is the only place where stainless steel is used in the design. The rest of the device is made of PCTG plastic.

The mouthpiece on the iJOY PUNK is very small and almost the size of a 510 drip tip. You can tell that it’s made for MTL vaping and not DL, and I will talk about the draw more in the performance section.

The bottom of the device is clear and allows you to see some wiring leading to the LED. I’ve never seen wiring like this on a disposable, so it’s odd to see, but at least the wiring looks tidy. The LED is white and lights up when you draw on the device.

The product page on the iJOY website shows the PUNK lighting up like a glowstick when you take a draw, but this isn’t the case. It lights up a little bit, but nothing like the picture above.

Features

The iJOY PUNK is a large capacity disposable and it comes prefilled with 12ml of ejuice. This, along with the non-rechargeable 1200mAh battery, should get you somewhere around 4500 puffs before it dies.

Like most disposables, the PUNK is purely draw activated. Simply inhale on the mouthpiece to vape. The iJOY PUNK is available in two nicotine strengths, either 30mg or 50mg. 

Inside the PUNK there is a 1.1Ω mesh coil. This, along with the output voltage of 3.5V, means that each one will initially fire at a maximum output of 11W. This output will decrease as the battery dies.

Flavors

There are 25 flavors available for the iJOY PUNK. Like most other disposables, the majority of these are fruit flavors, but there are fruit and ice combos, drink flavors, and some other odd flavors like ‘Milk Tea Ice’ and ‘Orange Ice Cream’.

Sadly, I wasn’t sent any of these odd flavors for this review and received what appears to be a more ‘standard’ set of flavors. The flavors that I received for this review are: White Gummy, Strawberry Ice, Strawberry Kiwi, Lush Ice, and Sunny Grape.

I’m going to describe how each flavor tastes to me and what I think of them. Keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it, and vice-versa. This is solely my subjective opinion.

White Gummy

White Gummy is a flavor that combines gummy bears and peaches. The peach flavor is strong and equal to the gummy bear flavor. Both of these flavors come together nicely to form a sweet, very tasty vape. It’s a candied vape due to the gummy bear flavor, but it’s balanced enough in the sweetness of it to still vape all day.

Strawberry Ice

This is a well done strawberry flavor that balances out the fresh strawberry taste on the inhale with a nice cooling effect on the exhale. The cooling isn’t too heavy, which is good for this flavor. The strawberry taste is really nice as it is, and any more cooling would ruin it for me. This is one of my favorite flavors out of the five that I was sent.

Sunny Grape

Sweet green grapes are the only flavor here and boy are they sweet. It’s a little too sweet for my tastes, but a puff here and there is nice. The grape flavor isn’t artificial or synthetic tasting, which is a positive point for this flavor, but it’s not my personal favorite. If you like sweet flavors and grapes, you may like this one, but be prepared for a sugary onslaught!

Strawberry Kiwi

You can’t go wrong with strawberries and kiwi, and iJOY hasn’t either. I like this flavor a lot because it’s tasty, natural, and the right amount of sweet, but it’s also nothing new. I can’t say that iJOY has done a better job with their strawberry kiwi than anyone else, but it’s certainly on par with the competition and just as good.

Lush Ice

Lush Ice has become a staple for disposable brands. As I like to say, a disposable vape is only as good as its lush ice flavor (this saying will catch on, right?). Fortunately for iJOY, their Lush Ice flavor is pretty good! The watermelon flavor is just right, and the ice in here is also at a good level. All around, it’s a tasty flavor that lush ice lovers will enjoy.

How do they vape?

As important as the flavors is a disposable vapes performance, and iJOY’s PUNK disposables haven’t given me much to complain about. All five of my devices worked straight out of the packaging, with no duds or malfunctions. They’ve also continued to work flawlessly and I’ve been vaping on all five of these almost relentlessly. 

The draw activation works great and it works every time. All it takes is a light, normal pull, and the draw activation turns on and you start getting vapor. The draw itself is a tight mouth-to-lung draw that is made all the better by the small, MTL mouthpiece. Although it’s on the larger side of disposables, the draw feels very much like a smaller disposable. They are also near-completely silent when you’re vaping too, and the draw is very smooth.

Although you’ve definitely heard this before about many other disposables, the iJOY PUNK does not leak; at least they didn’t leak for me. The design is almost one piece, so there’s not really a place for ejuice to leak from. I’ve left them sitting on my desk overnight and didn’t have any leaking or gurgling in the mornings, even when I left them on their side.

Verdict

The iJOY PUNK disposable is a good, high-ejuice disposable for MTL vapers. The 12ml of ejuice and 1200mAh battery, although not rechargeable, is more than large enough to get you all the way to 4500 puffs. The flavors are rather good too, and with 25 flavors to choose from, there’s going to be something there for everyone. 

My biggest issue with this device is that the design is very out-there, and I’m sure some people will agree with me on this one. However, if you’re an adult vaper who likes graffiti-style designs, these will be right up your alley.

As a whole, I think that iJOY did a good job with their PUNK disposables and I’ll be on the lookout for their next disposable product.
