Our Verdict

The iJoy Bar IC8000 may look a lot like its younger brother, the iJoy Bar 800, but believe me when I tell you that this device has a lot more to offer. Each IC8000 offers a tight mouth to lung draw, warm vapor and performs very well.

The new display screen is the real game-changer here, showing you your ejuice level and battery level in a simple and fashionable way. The device as a whole looks very nice and isn’t too over-designed.

When it comes to the flavors, these devices are knockouts. I only had four flavors to test for this review and all of the flavors were very tasty and really impressed me. I wish I had more to try!

There aren’t many things to dislike about the IC8000, however there are a few things that I would like to mention. I found that the draw got much weaker as the battery drained, but on the plus side, the device only took about 20 minutes to charge from dead so downtime is minimal.

The other thing I want to touch on is that the screen turns off when you are charging your device so in order to check your battery level, you need to unplug the device. I suppose that isn’t too much of a big deal but it is a little irritating.

Overall, the pros of the IC8000 absolutely outweigh the cons. It is a great looking device that truly delivers a great draw and excellent flavor. For such a small device, it really offers a whole lot.

In September of 2022, iJoy released their first ever disposable device, the iJoy Punk. Since then, they have released a number of disposables such as the iJoy Cyber, the iJoy Drunk and more recently the iJoyBar 600. Their latest disposable looks very similar to the iJoy Bar 600 but has quite a few major upgrades.

The iJoy Bar IC8000 doesn’t only have an increased ejuice capacity, larger battery and more flavors, but it’s also the first “smart” disposable device that features a black and white screen to keep you informed of your ejuice level and battery level. Now, that is an upgrade.

The IC8000 comes prefilled with 18ml of ejuice. In turn, you should be able to reach around 8000 puffs. It comes with a rechargeable 650mAh battery that can be recharged with the Type-C charging port. At this time, the iJoy Bar IC8000 is only available in 50mg/ml nicotine strengths.

Is the screen really that informative or is this a gimmick? I am going to tell you everything you need to know about the iJoy Bar IC8000 so you can make an informed decision. By the end of this review you will know whether or not the IC8000 is the right device for you.

Design & Build Quality

  • iJOY IC8000 Disposables - 3

The iJoy Bar IC8000 is a box-shaped disposable measuring 85mm tall, 47mm wide and 23mm deep. For a box shaped device, I would say it’s more or less a standard sized device. Especially when you take in the fact that it is housing a 650mAh battery and 18ml of ejuice.

The design is almost exactly like its little brother, the iJoy Bar 600. It features the same dual-tone plastic casing that meets on a diagonal slant in the middle of the device. The top portion of the device is all white in color and is made with a super shiny plastic. The bottom portion features a single color, or some form of design such as marbled, speckled paint, or even gradients using two colors. Depending on the flavor, some are made with the same shiny plastic as the top piece and some have a soft-touch coating, creating a more matte finish.

There are very minimal logos and writing printed on the IC8000. On the front of the device there is an angled iJoy Bar logo printed above the diagonal line that meets the two pieces of plastic. The font is printed in the same color as the bottom portion of the device. For example, the red marble design features fonts printed in red. On the back of the device you will find the flavor and nicotine strength printed above the diagonal like, again, printed in the same color as the bottom of the device.

One thing I like about the iJoy Bar IC8000 is the fact that even though the device is box-shaped, the edges are very smooth and this makes the device very comfortable to hold. The shape and size are perfect for holding in the palm of my hand and even surprisingly easy to conceal.

  • iJOY IC8000 Disposables - 9

The iJoy Bar IC8000 is the first ever disposable that features a black and white screen that shows the battery level and ejuice level. The screen is small and located on the front of the device on the bottom right hand corner. I will go into further detail about the display screen and how it works in the features section.

The mouthpiece is made of plastic and is part of the one piece of plastic used for the top portion of the device. It uses the same shiny plastic and is oval shaped. The mouthpiece is a good size and is fairly comfortable to use, despite the mouthpiece being a little rough along the edges.

On the bottom of the device you will find the Type-C charging port. Unfortunately, you cannot use the device while it is charging, as it does not support pass-thru charging. Because of this, you will want to ensure your device is charged overnight or have a spare vape to use while it charges.

Features

iJOY IC8000 Disposables - Screen

The iJoy Bar IC8000 may look a lot like the iJoy Bar 800, but its features have been amped up. It uses a 1.1Ω mesh coil which delivers excellent flavor. It comes filled with 18ml of ejuice and has a 650mAh battery which recharges with Type-C charging.

At the moment, the IC8000 is only available in 50mg/ml nicotine strengths. There is no telling whether or not they will come out with a 20mg/ml option or even a 0mg/ml option for those looking for a nicotine free device. Only time will tell.

The 18ml of ejuice and the 650mAh rechargeable battery should get you around 8000 puffs per device. Each IC8000 will last a few hundred puffs before the draw gets too weak and needs a recharge.

The best thing about the iJoy Bar IC8000 is the “smart” screen that displays the ejuice level and battery level so you don’t need to guess when it’s time to recharge or replace your device.

When you draw on the device the screen will light up and show you the ejuice level. After a second or two the screen will then display the battery level. The numbers both start at 100 and decrease in increments of 5. I found this to be very useful and was able to recharge before my device died. I was surprised that they didn’t implement a puff count instead of using a percentage number for the ejuice level. That would have been really cool. Maybe for their next device.

Flavors

iJOY IC8000 Disposables - 2

The iJoy Bar IC8000 is available in 16 different and very unique flavor options. These flavors are:

  • Apple Juice
  • Black Dragon Ice
  • Blue Razz Ice
  • Blueberry Watermelon
  • Cherry Cola
  • Clear
  • Guava Kiwi Passion Fruit
  • Mint
  • Mint Candy
  • Peach Blueberry
  • Peach Lemon
  • Strawberry Kiwi
  • Strawberry Mango
  • Triple Berry
  • Watermelon Ice
  • White Gummy

Much like other disposable devices, the flavors are primarily focused around fruits and beverages. However, there are some unique options that stood out to me such as their Cherry Cola and Black Dragon Ice flavors.

For this review I’ll be going over five of these flavors. I’m going to describe how each of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Apple Juice

I found the name of this flavor to be a little misleading. This flavor does not taste like apple juice. Rather, the name of this flavor should have been Sour Green Apple as that is exactly what this flavor tastes like: a sour granny smith apple. Considering most apple juices use red delicious, fuji, or gala apples for apple juice, I was a little disappointed. Still tastes amazing, just not exactly what I would expect based on the name.

Black Dragon Ice

This flavor is amazing. I can absolutely taste the blackberry and strawberry flavors with the dragon fruit being a little more subtle. A great flavor option for those of you who love fruit combos. This one explodes with flavor right from the draw right to the exhale and the sweet strawberry flavor lingers long after you exhale. Strongly recommend this one.

Guava Kiwi Passion Fruit

When you draw on this one, be prepared for an explosion of flavor. The guava, kiwi and passion fruit mix is truly delicious. I found this one to be a little on the sweeter side upon exhaling but overall an excellent flavor that is very accurate.

Strawberry Mango

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a fan of mango flavored devices, but the IC8000 is an exception. The sweet strawberry mixed with mango is excellent and I had a hard time putting this one down. This flavor is probably one of my favorites of the lineup which was shocking for me.

How do they vape?

iJOY IC8000 Disposables - 1

When it comes to the performance of the iJoy Bar IC8000, I think it’s safe to say that you can expect an enjoyable and satisfying vaping experience. The mesh coil really does a great job of delivering amazing flavor. This, combined with the warm vapor and tight mouth to lung draw, make the IC8000 an excellent device that truly exceeded my expectations.

Even though this device does not have adjustable airflow, the draw is perfect and I wouldn’t have wanted to adjust it even if there was the choice.

As I mentioned previously, these devices only come in 50mg/ml nicotine strength but surprisingly they’re not too harsh. If you are used to vaping 20mg/ml then you may want to be careful not to vape too much, but I can see these as being enjoyable for all vapers.

As you vape on these devices, you will notice that the draw does get significantly weaker as the battery drains. Around the 50% battery level is when I had to recharge as the device was just too weak and was no longer as satisfying to vape on.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the device while it is charging, as it does not support pass-thru charging. You will want to ensure your device is charged overnight or have a spare vape to use while it charges.

  • i just got this vape. i ordered a completely different vape and got this one actually. it is costly auto firing. i hit the vape, i stop and then it continues to hit for another 15 seconds to 30 seconds after that. i dont know if that could be dangerous in anyway but i know its not supposed to do that.
