Lemon Drop Nic Salt - Wild Berry

The bottom line

Lemon Dropโ€™s e-juices are certainly satisfying, but the flavors that I tried were all a bit different from what I expected. Blueberry has a lot of lemonade flavor but a lack of that blueberry taste, Peach tasted more strongly but still had a lot of lemonade, and Wild Berry tastes like thereโ€™s no lemonade at all.

I personally donโ€™t mind a lemon or lemonade flavor in my e-juice, but I was expecting the fruit flavors in Blueberry and Peach to be a lot more prominent. Maybe itโ€™s my fault for assuming that these would be fruit flavors with a lemonade flavor base, rather than lemonade with subtle fruit flavoring.ย

But after trying these flavors, would I get them again? I might pick up the Peach again, and Wild Berry is a definite yes. I wish that I could taste a bit of lemonade in Wild Berry, because that is exactly what I was hoping these e-juices would be, but itโ€™s a good flavor nonetheless.

Taste aside, theyโ€™re definitely satisfying and hit the spot for nicotine cravings, thatโ€™s for sure, especially the Bold50. For me personally, the 20mg strengths are more than enough for my needs, but if youโ€™re a vaper who feels that 20mg isnโ€™t strong enough, I would say to give the Bold50 a try.

Product Overview

If you walk into a vape store in Canada, specifically in Ontario, youโ€™re likely to see this brand of nicotine salt e-juice dominating the shelves: Lemon Drop. It seems to be the most widely available brand of nic salt e-juice in Canada, and after seeing it so many times in brick-and-mortar stores, I was curious: Could this brand replace the Naked100, Pod Juice, and Dinner Lady salts Iโ€™ve been using?

If youโ€™ve been in a vape shop lately, you might be wondering the same thing. With that in mind, I picked up three Lemon Drop flavors to test out: Peach, Blueberry, and Wild Berry. Iโ€™ll go over how they taste, how harsh they are on coils, and how satisfying they are to vape. Hopefully, this will give Canadian vapers an idea of whether Lemon Drop is a brand worth picking up.

About Lemon Drop

It might surprise you to learn, as it did me, that Lemon Drop is manufactured by Canada Vape Lab, which is an absolute giant in the e-juice space. Canada Vape Lab also owns and produces Apple Drop, Berry Drop, Blackwood, Kapow, and Naked100 e-juices, among dozens more. Their sister company, USA Vape Lab, produces some of these same brands, as well as others, in the United States.

Okay, so Lemon Drop isnโ€™t just some small e-liquid brand being made out of some dudes basement; thatโ€™s good news. On the contrary, Canada Vape Labโ€™s facility is ISO 9001 certified, and their production lab is an ISO Class 8 clean room.

Thatโ€™s the kind of safety and quality that you want to hear when it comes to something youโ€™re ingesting.

On Canada Vape Labโ€™s website, their quality objectives include ensuring that all products manufactured and distributed will meet or exceed all regulatory and legislative requirements set by Health Canada, and using scientific equipment to test each batch of e-liquid prior to releasing products into the market.

As far as production standards and quality go, all of the above makes me feel safe vaping on these e-liquids, knowing that they werenโ€™t produced in some sketchy basement or facility.

Lemon Drop Nicotine Salts: What to Expect

Like its sister brands Apple Drop and Berry Drop, Lemon Drop nic salts have a base flavor that is present in all flavors; in this case, itโ€™s lemonade. This lemonade base flavor is sweet but also slightly sour and tangy, and all of the flavors in the line add to and complement this flavor.ย

For example, Banana is not just a Banana flavor, but rather a Banana and lemonade flavor. Similarly, Blood Orange is not just an orange flavor, but rather a Blood Orange and lemonade flavor.ย

There are twenty mixes available in the Lemon Drop line, all of which appear to be widely available:

  • Banana
  • Black Cherry
  • Black Currant
  • Blood Orange
  • Blue Raspberry
  • Blueberry
  • Double Lemon
  • Grape
  • Grapefruit
  • Green Apple
  • Lychee
  • Mango
  • Peach
  • Pineapple
  • Pink
  • Punch
  • Strawberry
  • Watermelon
  • Wild Berry

I couldnโ€™t find any information about the PG/VG ratio of these e-juices, but my guess is a 50VG/50PG blend.

As for available nicotine strengths, any Canadian vaper will know that thereโ€™s a 20mg/ml limit in Canada, but in addition to 12mg and 20mg strengths, Lemon Drop also offers a nicotine strength called โ€œBold50โ€.ย

Bold50 is still Health Canada compliant in that it only contains 20mg/ml of nicotine, but as the owner of the vape shop where I got it explained to me, itโ€™s formulated to feel like a 50mg/ml draw. Interestingly enough, the Bold50 e-juice that I got has a noticeable yellow tinge compared to the nearly clear 20mg flavors.

As with all nicotine salt e-juices, these are not meant to be vaped in subohm tanks or high-wattage devices. Instead, theyโ€™re best used in low-wattage pod vapes with a 0.6ฮฉ coil or higherโ€“0.8ฮฉ and above is even better.

How do the flavors taste?

For this review, I picked up three Lemon Drop nic salt flavors: Blueberry, Peach, and Wild Berry. Iโ€™m going to describe how they taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I donโ€™t like a flavor, this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

I tested these flavors using three devices: the Uwell Caliburn G5 Lite, the VAPORESSO XROS 5 Nano, and the VOOPOO Argus P3. I wanted to have a good representation of how pods from three of the largest and most popular vaping brands handle and express these e-juices. Using different brands of pods also eliminates the possibility of the e-juices tasting strange because of being used in a particular pod.

Blueberry (20mg)

Lemon Drop Nic Salt - Blueberry

The blueberry flavor here mixes very well with the lemonade base, creating a flavor where I taste both equally and at the same time. The blueberry notes are more sweet than anything on the inhale and complement the sweet and somewhat sour lemonade. On the exhale, though, I can taste the blueberry more fully, and this is where I catch more of what Iโ€™m used to from a blueberry flavor. Overall, quite sweet, with a more subtle flavor than I was expecting.

Peach (20mg)

Lemon Drop Nic Salt - Peach

The peach in this flavor is bolder than the blueberry in the previous flavor, and I can taste it a lot more. I can immediately taste the notes of peaches, which are mixed with an undertone of the lemonade base. Still, the lemonade is very strong and overpowers the peach flavor throughout the inhale. On the exhale, the peach notes are more subtle but present. This flavor is less sugary and more fruit-tasting than Blueberry, but itโ€™s hard to say which I like more.

Wild Berry (Bold50)

Lemon Drop Nic Salt - Wild Berry

This is the most fruity of the three flavors I tried, and also the sweetest. The berry notes are very flavorful and sweet. I barely taste the lemonade in this flavor; only fleeting hints come through from time to time. If youโ€™re after the lemonade component of Lemon Drop e-juices, this is a flavor I would skip. But if youโ€™re content with what is essentially an excellent-tasting mix of berry flavor, this is great.

How do they vape?

Iโ€™ve used nearly an entire 30ml bottle of the Wild Berry, and half a bottle of the Blueberry and Peach, so I think I have enough time with these e-juices to comment on how they do on coils, how satisfying they are to vape, and whether or not I think vapers will like them.

Iโ€™ll start with how they are on coils. These e-juices donโ€™t seem to be any harsher or gunk up my coils any more quickly than other premium nic salt e-juices like Pachamama or Naked. In fact, they seem pretty gentle, and my XROS pods, Argus Pods, and Caliburn GPP pods have all lasted through multiple refills without any signs of degradation. Thatโ€™s a testament to the quality of the pods and the e-juices, so I definitely recommend using these e-juices with devices that take those pods.

The 20mg/ml Lemon Drop nic salts vape as you would expect for a 20mg e-juice; a nice throat hit, a satisfying vape, and no signs of harshness. The Bold50 definitely hits harder and feels a little harsher on my throat, but it also feels more satisfying to vape on, maybe a bit too much so.ย

The nicotine rush is noticeably stronger, so I suggest using caution if youโ€™re not used to vaping on 50mg nic salts because it will hit you like a truck! Iโ€™m not sure how they make it feel so much stronger when the concentration is still 20mg of nicotine per milliliter, but however they do it, it works.

Verdict
