The bottom line

Pod Juiceโ€™s nic salts are very good, but saying that alone would be an understatement. The reason why theyโ€™re so good is more important: the flavors and experience mimic a disposable, which is something that I know a lot of vapers out there crave.

The satisfaction and smoothness are also a huge allure. Nobody wants a harsh vape, and while many vapers may be used to nic salts, youโ€™ll still notice a difference if you try Pod Juice.

Vaping more than you want to? Try using the same strength or slightly lower from Pod Juice, and thereโ€™s a good chance that the satisfaction will allow you to cut down on how many draws youโ€™re taking.

Overall, I donโ€™t have anything negative to say about these. They vape great, and there are many, many flavors to choose from.

Product Overview

Pod Juice has long been one of my go-to nicotine salt e-juice brands. Ever since I discovered these e-juices years ago, theyโ€™ve had a place in my rotation, and the reason why is simple.ย

While many e-juice brands offer nicotine salt e-juices that work with low-powered pod devices, Pod Juice makes nic salts specifically for pod vapes. Their e-juices are also made to replace cigarettes or your disposable vape, and the difference in satisfaction is noticeable.

But what makes Pod Juiceโ€™s e-juices so different? Without getting too technical in this intro, there are some formulation differences from other nic salts, and their flavors are very disposable-esque. Add to this that theyโ€™re smooth and taste great, and you have a winning nic salt brand.

In this review, Iโ€™m going to go over three of Pod Juiceโ€™s โ€œBar Editionโ€ nicotine salt e-juices. Iโ€™ll cover how they taste, how satisfying they are to vape, and everything else you need to know to decide whether these are the right e-juices for you.ย

About Pod Juice

Pod Juice was founded in Los Angeles in 2017. The company was founded to help smokers quit cigarettes, and the founders realized that a smooth nicotine salt e-juice made specifically for low-wattage pod devices was the way to go.

What really made the company explode onto the scene is its 55mg smooth salt nic line, which vapes super smoothly and doesnโ€™t burn. Its special formulation is different from other salt nicotine e-juices in that it doesnโ€™t contain benzoic acid, so the higher nicotine strength doesnโ€™t feel harsh.

According to their โ€œAboutโ€ page, Pod Juice manufactures all its e-juices in Los Angeles, California, in a clean, FDA-compliant, ISO laboratory using only the highest-quality ingredients.

Pod Juice is one of the most popular nicotine salt e-juice brands in the world, selling over a million bottles every year.

Pod Juice: What to Expect

If youโ€™ve tried vaping but still havenโ€™t been able to drop the cigarettes, Pod Juiceโ€™s nic salts might be something to try.

While its 55mg nic salt strength is its most popular offering, they also offer 35mg and 20mg nicotine strengths. So even if you arenโ€™t a pack-or-two-a-day smoker, but youโ€™re still looking to make the switch, these lower nicotine strength options are there.

All of their e-juices come in 30ml bottles and in a variety of flavors, not just fruit. All their e-juices use a 50/50 VG/PG formulation, which works perfectly with most pod vapes.

How do the flavors taste?

For this review, I spent a few weeks testing out three of Pod Juiceโ€™s โ€œBar Editionโ€ flavors: Kiwi Dragon Berry, Watermelon Bubblegum, and Strawberry Banana, all in 35mg/ml nicotine strength. These arenโ€™t their most popular flavors, but they arenโ€™t the least popular either. Theyโ€™re somewhere in between, so this should give a good idea of how good their flavors are overall.

As with any nicotine salt e-juice, these should be used in a low-power pod device, and so thatโ€™s exactly how I used them. I tested using two devices from UWELL: the Caliburn G5 and the Caliburn G5 KOKO. Since these devices use pods that are very popular and widely available (theyโ€™re shared with previous Caliburn models), thereโ€™s a chance that you use the same pods.

With that in mind, my thoughts here should be pretty accurate to what youโ€™ll experience if you use these same pods with Pod Juiceโ€™s nic salts.

Iโ€™m going to describe how these e-juices taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I donโ€™t like a flavor, this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Strawberry Banana

Pod Juice Strawberry Banana

Pod Juice got this flavor just right. It tastes like what you would expect from a strawberry-and-banana flavored e-juice, but itโ€™s very strong and has a very wet flavor, almost like what you get from a strawberry-banana disposable. The flavor intensity is off the charts here, and itโ€™s sweet, bold, and accurate too. This is easily one of the better strawberry banana flavors that Iโ€™ve tried.

Watermelon Bubblegum

Pod Juice Watermelon Bubblegum

Like the previous flavor, the intensity of this flavor is very high. Itโ€™s very sweet, and the flavoring tastes complex. A nice watermelon flavor hits my palate, along with an unmistakable bubblegum flavor that nicely complements the watermelon. This one is sweet, but the mix is expertly done, and thereโ€™s a definite candy flavor that I really like.

Kiwi Dragon Berry

Pod Juice Kiwi Dragonberry

Of the three flavors that I tested for this review, this one is my least favorite. Itโ€™s still really great, but the problem is that the other two flavors just taste so good that, by comparison, this one is worse. Dragon berry isnโ€™t a super popular flavor, so itโ€™s a nice change, and the kiwi flavor is great. This flavor is a little different from your standard popular fruit flavors, but if youโ€™re feeling like trying something new, itโ€™s an option.

How do they vape?

Pod Juice claims their e-juices are smoother and more flavorful than other nic salt brands because they use a special formulation that doesnโ€™t use benzoic acid. But is this true? From what Iโ€™ve experienced, theyโ€™re definitely smoother and extremely satisfying, and the sweetness and wetness of their flavors are very similar to a disposable.

When vaping on the 35mg/ml nicotine strength, itโ€™s a clear difference from your average 35mg/ml nicotine salt. The vapor is not harsh at all, but the satisfaction is still there. These are very smooth on the throat, so if thatโ€™s something that has been bugging you with other e-juices, and maybe even holding you back from vaping altogether, this will be good news.

The flavors are another thing that sets Pod Juice apart from other nic salts. I know a bunch of vapers who only use disposable vapes because they like how sweet and strong the flavors are. That’s hard to replicate with a pod vape, which keeps a lot of vapers stuck on disposables.

Pod Juiceโ€™s flavors are very disposable-esque, with rich, wet, and sweet flavors. If you put these in the right pod vape, it gets very close to a disposable. While itโ€™s not a 1:1 experience, itโ€™s close enough that, with a little willpower, I think disposable users can switch to a pod vape with Pod Juice nic salts.

Verdict
