MEMERS WUKONG V40000 Review: Ice and Nicotine Adjustment

The WuKong V40000 is one of the highest-puff devices on the market today, but surprisingly, it’s not much larger than your average high-puff disposable. It’s 98.4mm tall, 51.1mm wide, and 26.3mm deep, which is even smaller than the NEXA Ultra 50000, which has a similar puff count. I don’t know how MEMERS managed to keep it so small with 20ml of ejuice and an 1100mAh battery, but kudos to them.

This device is entirely made of plastic, with no metal to be found. However, it doesn’t feel cheap; instead, it feels solid and well-built.

The bottom two-thirds of the device has a subtle but attractive pearlescent paint finish, while the top third has a clear plastic layer over a solid plastic underlayer. This clear plastic area lights up with RGB LED lighting when you puff, which is cool. It’s a unique design, and I think MEMERS executed it well, especially with the circular ridges in the clear plastic, which gives it a 3D look.

On the back of the device, “MEMERS WUKONG” is printed in medium-sized font, along with an image of a somewhat scary-looking man. Below this is the device name, V40000, the flavor, and “Designed by MEMERS”.

The front of the device is where the goods are at. There’s a large black panel, which is the screen, and a fingerprint icon right in the middle.

This fingerprint icon is the device’s button, which can be pressed to activate the screen. It can also be used to change many functions, but I’ll discuss this in the next section of this review. For now, I can say that the button can be a bit finicky sometimes and doesn’t always capture my input, so it can be frustrating to use. It is, however, an interesting idea.

The screen is full color. Near the bottom it displays battery level, ejuice level, remaining cooling agent level, and nicotine output (30mg, 40mg, or 50mg). In the center of the screen is a large snowflake which becomes larger and more full as the ice level is increased.

The black plastic that covers the display is less durable than desired. All of my units that saw regular use have visible scuffing and scratching on the plastic.

On the bottom of the WuKong V40000 is an OFF/ON/ICE switch (more on this later), two LED indicators (one to show ejuice is being used and one to show the ice reservoir is being used), and a Type-C charging port. The ejuice indicator is redundant, but the ice indicator has been helpful for me to know whether or not any ice is present in the “ON” position. The answer is it’s not.

One thing that I like a lot about this device is that it’s made from 100% recyclable material. According to MEMERS, “The outer shell, mouthpiece, etc. strictly adhere to recyclable and reusable standards.”

Features

There is a lot to cover in this section, as the WuKong V40000 is a very feature-rich device. It has more features than your average disposable, so stick with me here!

First and foremost are the nicotine and ice adjustments. The WuKong V40000 has three levels of nicotine adjustment: 30mg, 40mg, and 50mg. Pressing the touch button three times unlocks the nicotine options, and pressing the button again will cycle between the three levels.

The ice adjustment is more robust and has five levels. To adjust the cooling, you must first set the switch on the bottom of the device all the way to the right, ON position. You cannot adjust the ice with the switch set to the middle setting; only the nicotine is adjustable.

Pressing the touch button twice with the switch set correctly will unlock the cooling adjustment. From here you can press the touch button to cycle through the five cooling levels.

As I mentioned earlier, the touch button is not the most responsive, so adjusting the levels can be frustrating. Honestly, a physical button would have been better, as it would have made adjustments much more effortless. Be prepared to try multiple times to unlock the nicotine or cooling before you actually get it to work.

The RGB LED lighting can also be adjusted to one of seven colors or set to cycle through all seven. It can also be turned off completely, which is a nice option to have. To change the lighting, press the touch button four times.

Moving on to the tech specs, the V40000 is no slouch. It comes filled with 20ml of ejuice for up to 40,000 puffs, which is fantastic. It also has a huge 1100mAh battery, which is not what I expected from the relatively small size.

Inside the V40000 is a “MITS Platform Triple Mesh” coil. These are three mesh coils that work in combination to vaporize the ejuice inside. MEMERS says that this makes the device “excel at delivering phenomenal flavor and a refreshing sensation to your taste buds.”, but I’ll be the judge of that!

Battery Life & Charging

I’ve been impressed with the WuKong V40000’s battery life, which is no wonder considering its 1100mAh capacity. A charge has been lasting me for 2-3 days of heavy use, so it’s pretty good on battery. Each full charge used around 30% of the ejuice.

Charging times are a letdown, though. A full charge takes an hour and forty-five minutes, so getting these charged back up is a lengthy process. They do have pass-through charging, so they can be vaped on while they charge, but if you don’t want to be stuck to a charging cable, you’ll want to remember to put it to charge before you go to sleep.

It’s nice to see a tobacco flavor, as few disposable brands are offering them these days. The rest of the flavors have good variety, so there should be a flavor for everyone.

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, remember that just because I like a flavor, this does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I dislike a flavor, this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Georgia Peach

This has been one of my favorite flavors for the WuKong V40000. It’s sweet but subtle and just sweet enough, with a pleasant peach flavor. This is easily one of the best flavors for the V40000 and I highly recommend trying it if you like peach vapes.

Pink Lemonade

There are lemon and lemonade notes here, but there’s also an ice cream flavor that throws the whole thing off for me. The lemon/lemonade needs to be stronger and whatever else I’m tasting needs to be toned down.

Watermelon Ice

The ice in this flavor is going to be determined by how high the device’s ice level is set. With the ice off, this is just a nice watermelon flavor. It’s not very strong (a recurring theme with these disposables), but I can taste the watermelon well enough. It’s a good flavor, especially with the ice turned up.

Allora Tobacco

As the only tobacco flavor in the V40000 lineup, I think that MEMERS did well. It’s smokey and bold, and brings a little sweetness to the table, too. While it doesn’t taste like a cigarette, I don’t believe it’s meant to. It reminds me more of a cigar than anything, and it delivers a strong chest hit. 

Blue Razz Ice

Of the five flavors I tried, Blue Razz Ice is the sweetest. Like Watermelon Ice, the cooling is going to depend entirely on what the ice level is set to. Like any good blue razz vape (at least in my opinion), it’s candied and slightly tangy. I’ll put this one up there as a close second to Georgia Peach.

How do they vape?

This section isn’t going to be as straightforward as some of my other disposable reviews, and that’s for two reasons: nicotine level and ice level. Since the WuKong V40000 has so many combinations of ways that it can be set, it’s impossible for me to go over every single one. But what I can do is tell you what I thought of the different levels individually.

Starting with the nicotine levels, I didn’t find that they directly correlated to other disposable vapes with the same nicotine level. The 50mg output didn’t feel like a proper 50mg disposable, and neither did the 40mg output. The only one I felt was close was the 30mg output, which felt satisfying without being overwhelming.

There’s a small difference between the three nicotine levels, but not enough to make me confident that the device is really outputting the nicotine level it says it is. So, after some back-and-forth trying to tell the difference, I ended up setting the nicotine to 30mg and leaving it at that.

The ice levels are a whole different story. With the ice switch off, there’s no discernible cooling. However, turning the ice switch to ON and setting the ice level to 5 is no joke! It’s brain-freeze-inducing cooling when maxed out. Personally, not how I like to vape, but if you like your cooling, then you’ll love this device.

Around levels 2-3 is where I found my sweet spot for the cooling; just enough without giving me a brain freeze. The cooling adjustment works remarkably well, and there’s a massive difference between each of the five levels.

Circling back to MEMERS claims of “phenomenal flavor and (a) refreshing sensation to your taste buds”, the triple mesh coils have got to be to thank for the performance. Not once did I have any semblance of a dry hit or burning, and the flavor has been consistent through multiple charges with each of the flavors that I tried. 

Verdict

Although the nicotine adjustment doesn’t feel entirely accurate to the stated level, these vapes will be more than satisfying enough for any vaper who vapes in the 30-40mg range. It’s an even more attractive pick for vapers who like ice in their vape, as the level of ice adjustability on the V40000 is second to none.

I could do without the touch button control as it isn’t always responsive, but it’s easier when I take my time with it. I can only hope to see a physical button on the successor to the V40000, as it will make the entire operation of the device much easier.

The specs are fantastic for a device as compact as the WuKong V40000. Up to 40000 puffs, an 1100mAh battery, and a high level of adjustability are all reasons why you should consider picking these up. Plus, they’re made from 100% recyclable material, so you’ll be doing your part in reducing e-waste. Just make sure to recycle them in an appropriate electronics waste bin when you’re done with them!
