The bottom line
So will I be ditching my mouth-inhaled vapes and becoming a full-time nose-inhaled vaper? Not quite.
While I like a lot of aspects of the AT5000, it’s no replacement for regular vaping. I think that Vozol put it best: “the AT5000 is not a replacement for mouth vape products, but (rather) a new way to serve consumers who like that feeling (nose inhalation)”.
The concept of a nose-inhaled vape is controversial and unorthodox so unfortunately, I don’t see these catching on to the point of taking over a large portion of the vaping market.
However, the AT5000 is certainly an interesting device to use and it does provide some benefits over traditional vapes such as less sweetener, more satisfaction from a lower nicotine content, and even more coolness than traditional vapes.
While I can’t recommend the AT5000 for everyone, as the saying goes “don’t knock it till’ you’ve tried it”. I’m sure that some of you out there will like the different and novel experience that it provides. Honestly, as strange as it sounds, nose-inhaled vaping is kinda nice.

Having been with Versed Vaper for many years now, trying and testing all sorts of different vaping products, I thought that I had seen it all. It turns out that I was wrong.
A new brand called Nose Knows has just come out with the world’s first nose inhaled disposable vape, the AT5000. Yes, you read that right – it’s a vape that you inhale through your nose.
The Nose Knows AT5000 is powered by Vozol, who is a major player in the disposable vaping space. Vozol says that the nose inhalation makes these more satisfying, despite only being 2% nicotine strength. They also say that it’s not a replacement for regular vapes, but rather a complementary new way to vape.
That being said, the AT5000 is a product unlike anything that I’ve seen and it’s sure to be controversial. But aside from inhaling it through your nose, it’s not that different from other disposable vapes.
The AT5000 comes filled with 10ml of ejuice and a 1000mAh battery. The battery is not rechargeable but it’s rated to last for up to 5000… Puffs? Inhales? Sniffs? I’m not sure which term is correct but, well you get the idea!
I’ve been using the AT5000 for two weeks now and while it was weird at first, it’s actually sort of grown on me. But is it right for you, and is it worth picking up? I’ll answer all of the questions you may or may not have in this review.
These devices were sent to me directly by Nose Knows for the purpose of this review.
- Size: 81mm x 43mm x 21mm
- Weight: 55g
- Nose Inhalation
- Pre-filled with 10ml of ejuice
- Up to 5000 Puffs
- 2% (50mg) Nicotine content
- Constant Power Output
- 1000mAh battery (non-rechargeable)
- 12 Flavor options
Design & Build Quality
The design of the Nose Knows AT5000 is more like other disposable vapes than not. Vozol clearly had the mindset that “just because it’s nasally inhaled doesn’t mean it has to have a completely different design from other disposable vapes”.
But is it indistinguishable as a nose inhaled vape? No. The two round ‘bumps’ at the top of the device immediately give it away as something different. These bumps are, of course, what you put up to your nostrils to puff, inhale, sniff, the device (I think I’ll just settle on using inhale from here on out).
Putting a device up to your nose to vape is a little weird for certain and some of you, like me, might have immediately thought about the hygiene of it all. Luckily, Vozol did too and each device comes with a removable and washable silicone cover for the inhalation bumps.
At the end of each day I’ve been rinsing these covers out with soap and water, just to keep everything clean and sanitary.
But this is probably a little overboard honestly, because the bumps don’t actually go into my nose. The bridge between the bumps rests on my septum and the bumps form a seal with my nostrils as I inhale. To put it another way, the bumps go way less into my nose than a vape goes into my lips to vape.
Other than the bumps, the rest of the AT5000 looks just like a small disposable. It’s only 81mm tall, 43mm wide and 21mm thick so it’s a pretty small device.
All of the sides and corners are rounded for comfort and it’s easily concealable in my palm. However, it’s still not very discreet because you have to put it up to your nose to vape. I should have recorded some of the looks of confusion that I got when using these in public.
The front side of the AT5000 has a small LED and a silicone plate that says Nose Knows on it. This plate is removable by just pulling the silicone tabs free from the device. The back side of the AT5000 says “Be Different”, which is the product slogan, and also has the flavor printed near the bottom.
Each of the 12 flavors is a different color with a speckled design. The color of the silicone bumps, silicone badge, and writing are different from the main color of the device.
Features
The Nose Knows AT5000 is an extremely simple device. You put it up to your nose, inhale, and that’s it. But why use a nose inhaled device? Vozol provided me with the answers to this question.
As a first selling point, Vozol says that the AT5000 is low in sweetener when compared to regular vapes. This is possible because the perception of sweetness is different when inhaled through the nose versus the mouth. So when you inhale the AT5000 through your nose, you’ll still perceive the sweetness and flavor as being good due to the olfactory system and your sense of smell. Less sweetener is always a good thing.
Another reason why you might choose the AT5000 is due to the heightened sense of satisfaction. While these are only 2% nicotine strength, I can personally attest that they feel much more satisfying than that when inhaled nasally. So compared to a 5% nicotine vape, these could be a lower-nicotine-strength option.
Lastly, Vozol says that these are not meant to be a replacement for regular vapes but a complementary addition. It’s obvious that the entire population of vapers are not going to switch over to nasally inhaled vapes, no matter how good they are. So instead of being a replacement, the AT5000 is a vape that you can use in addition to your regular vapes.
The AT5000 has a 1000mah battery that, for simplicity sake, is not rechargeable. You use the device until it dies and then responsibly recycle it in an electronics waste bin. Despite not being rechargeable, a 1000mah battery is huge for the small size of these devices, and it will last for up to 5000 inhales.
Flavors
Should these be called flavors or scents? Whichever one you choose to call them, there are twelve available for the Nose Knows AT5000. These are:
- Avocado Osmanthus
- Banana Ice
- Coconut Ice
- Double Apple
- Jasmine Rose
- Latte
- Mint Leaf
- Melon Ice
- Rose Lychee
- Strawberry Ice
- Vanilla Custard
- White Peach Sakura Ice
I like that in addition to the fruit flavors, there’s a coffee flavor, a mint flavor, a floral flavor, and a dessert flavor. I have no doubt that all of these will be interesting to the nose!
For this review I received five of these flavors to test out. I’m going to describe how these five flavors taste/smell to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.
Melon Ice
Melon Ice has been my go-to of the AT5000 flavors. There’s a lot of cooling so it’s very chilly on the nose but it’s refreshing in a way. It definitely smells/tastes like a honeydew melon and it’s sweet but not in the same way as a mouth-inhaled vape.
Jasmine Rose
This one smells/tastes like inhaling flowers on a chilly winter morning. It has a little less cooling than Melon Ice but it’s still very cold in the nose. Those who like floral vapes will like the taste but it’s too strong for me to vape all day.
Banana Ice
The banana flavor is very thick and dense and almost overwhelming to inhale for me. It’s also packing a lot of coolness which makes this a double whammy. I find this flavor too full and dense to consistently vape on. The banana flavor doesn’t sit right with me.
Coconut Ice
This flavor is the lightest of the bunch. It tastes/smells very clean with a nice coconut flavor that is complemented by medium-heavy cooling. After Melon Ice, this one is my favorite.
Mint Leaf
This flavor surprisingly isn’t as cooling heavy as the others, at least that’s what I perceive. It’s rather balanced with a semi-sweet mint flavor. This might be the best mint flavor that I’ve tried; something about the nose inhale makes it so much better than any regular mint vapes that I’ve had.
How do they vape?
So the question that you’re all probably wondering is how do they vape? The answer is: differently than mouth-inhaled vapes but not entirely in a bad way.
It takes some getting used to and at first I wasn’t enjoying using these. But as Vozol said to me “give it a go before you say no”, so I did. After the first day or two, I started to gain a weird liking to some of the flavors, mainly Mint Lead, Melon Ice, and Coconut Ice. There’s something about the experience that is distinctly different from regular vaping and almost addictive.
The level of satisfaction from these 2% vapes is also surprising. I feel like they give me the same satisfaction as a 35mg/ml mouth-inhaled vape, which is really cool.
The flavor/smell sensation is also another cool aspect of these vapes that you don’t get with other disposables. It’s hard to describe the sensation but there’s something really cool about smelling and tasting the flavors at the same time.
Verdict
