Our Verdict

They may not come filled with a zillion ml of ejuice but that’s exactly the benefit of these UpBar RS disposables. They are small, light, and incredibly portable — all features of disposables that are becoming harder to find these days. If you aren’t content vaping on the same flavor for hours at a time and like to switch up your flavors throughout the day, you can easily carry around three or four of these and barely notice that they are there.

The flavors are generally good and even some of the ice flavors aren’t too icy to be enjoyed by non-menthol vapers. Thanks to the mesh coil, the satisfaction and throat hit that you’ll get from these is also great for a 20mg strength disposable so don’t let the low nicotine content off put you.

That’s the good stuff. For the bad stuff, there really isn’t that much to say other than some of the flavors could be stronger and the sticker on the body scratches and marks up easily. Otherwise, these are great disposables. If you’re looking for a portable disposable that still delivers on performance and flavor, I can confidently recommend UPENDS UpBar RS disposables.

UPENDS is a vaping company that produces all sorts of devices for vaping nicotine eliquid. While you may not have heard of them before, they currently produce a huge range of devices such as pod vapes, pod mods, and disposable vapes. At the moment, UPENDS offers 1 pod mod, 5 pod systems, and 8 types of disposable vapes. The latter is what I will be reviewing today.

The UpBar RS is UPENDS latest disposable vape. It’s a “traditional” disposable that is small and light and each one comes prefilled with 2ml of 20mg/ml strength nicotine salt ejuice. Each one is good for up to 600 puffs. The UpBar RS uses a mesh coil for fast ramp up times and is available in 18 different flavors.

From a quick look on their website, UPENDS goal is to provide affordable vaping products with an emphasis on minimalist design, ease of use, reliability, and great value. You’ll find out in this review if the UpBar RS disposables live up to this mission.

These disposables were sent to me directly from UPENDS for the purpose of this review.

The first thing that I noticed about these disposables is the soccer theme that they have going on. As far as I can tell, UPENDS isn’t involved with a soccer team by way of sponsoring or anything, so it’s a bit odd to see a soccer ball and referee stripes on these devices. It doesn’t look bad at all but it does feel a little out of place.

Regardless of the soccer theme, they are neat looking disposables. The referee stripes that run vertically down the body of each disposable are shiny and almost holographic, as is the soccer ball icon. This is a sticker, of course, but none of my disposable have started peeling so it’s stuck on there good. However, it does scratch and pick up marks easily.

As I mentioned in the introduction paragraphs, these are “traditional” small and light disposables which is nice to see. It seems like all companies are releasing these days are huge, behemoth sized disposables that are filled with a zillion ml of eliquid. Don’t get me wrong, large disposables can be nice for the right vaper, but not everyone wants to carry around a box mod sized disposable. For those vapers who just want something slim and portable to take out of the house, good options are becoming harder to find. Well, that demographic is exactly the one that will appreciate the UpBar RS.

These are only 96mm tall, 20mm wide, and 9mm thick, which makes them one of the smallest disposables that I’ve reviewed in recent times. They are ultra-light, so much so that I can easily hold one in my mouth and vape on it absentmindedly. In fact, I’ve been doing just that while writing this review. The drip tip is also perfectly shaped for this purpose and isn’t too slanted, so you can easily hold it with your lips without dropping it.

These are disposables that you can take multiple of with you out of the house. Even carrying 3 or 4 at a time isn’t very noticeable in my pocket. They are super light and convenient.

Each flavor has a differently colored sticker so it’s easy enough not to confuse two flavors, but for extra distinction the flavor is also printed in large writing down the front of each disposable.

Each UpBar RS comes filled with 2ml of nicotine salt ejuice. At the moment it seems like they only offer one nicotine strength, which is 20mg/ml. According to UPENDS, this 2ml of ejuice and the 400mAh battery should be good for up to 600 puffs per disposable.

Flavors

UPENDS UpBar RS - 6

UpBar RS disposables are available in 18 different flavors. Over half of these are ‘ice’ flavors but I found that most of the ice flavors are very subtle and the cooling effect is not very strong so even non-menthol lovers will likely still enjoy some of these ‘ice’ flavors. The other 8 non-ice flavors are tasty-sounding fruit mixes like apple guava, watermelon cantaloupe, and passion fruit. They even offer a tobacco flavor which is nice to see.

I’m going to describe how some of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. Keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it, and vice-versa. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Orange Ice

Orange Ice is one of UPENDS ice flavors that I did not find very icy at all. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you feel about a cooling effect with your vape flavors. For me, I found it very enjoyable and it’s a great orange flavor. The cooling is very subtle but I can still notice it’s there, however the main reason to get this flavor is the strong and authentic orange taste. Very tasty.

Cola Ice

On the opposite end of the ‘ice’ spectrum is Cola Ice. This is one of the flavors with the strongest cooling effect. It’s not so cold that I feel it in my ears but there’s definitely a cooling effect that you can notice. This is one of the better cola flavors that I’ve tried. The cola flavor is accurate and there’s even a fizzy taste to go with it. It’s as sweet as an actual glass of cola.

Watermelon Breeze

Not a lot of menthol here. It’s like a lush ice flavor but without most of the ice. It’s just lush! This is a slightly candied, but not too sweet, watermelon flavor. While it doesn’t taste natural it’s still very good. If you like the flavor of lush ice but wish that there wasn’t a lot of menthol, I suggest trying this one out.

Passion Fruit

This disposable is sweet but it isn’t right in your face. I find that a lot of fruit flavors try to be as sweet as possible in order to taste good but that isn’t what is going on here. It’s more a subtle flavor that still tastes good without having to be too sweet. The passion fruit flavor could be accentuated a bit more because I find it to be lacking, but this could be done without making the flavor sweeter. Not my favorite but not too bad either.

Apple Ice

Like Orange Ice, Apple Ice has barely any ice to it. I really like apple flavors too so this one is perfect for me. It’s different from other apple flavors that I’ve tried because there’s almost a caramelized taste to it which is unique and it tastes good too. It’s not too sweet either which is a plus for me.

Blue Raspberry

This is a good blue raspberry flavor that I don’t mind vaping on, but it isn’t the best that I’ve tried. I think the flavor could be more concentrated and turned up a couple of notches. It’s subtle, similar to their Passion Fruit flavor, and I think that increasing the flavor intensity would benefit this flavor a lot. Not a bad flavor but again, not my favorite.

How do they vape?

UPENDS UpBar RS - 7

The UpBar RS disposables deliver a solid vaping experience overall. The draw is a mouth to lung draw that is close to the feeling of drawing on a cigarette so it’s perfect for beginner vapers or those looking for that type of draw.

Even though these are only 20mg/ml strength, I found vaping on these to be very satisfying. I’m used to vaping higher strength disposables so before I tried them, I thought that these may not be satisfying enough. However, the mesh coil does a great job of delivering enough nicotine even with the lower strength. The throat hit isn’t quite as strong as you would get from a higher strength disposable but it’s still good.

Concerning leaking, I did not have any while I used these disposables. I did find a small amount of ejuice around the bottom of 2 of the disposables when I took them out of the packaging, but this was likely due to shipping. Once I cleaned them up I did not have any leaking while I used them.

Verdict

They may not come filled with a zillion ml of ejuice but that’s exactly the benefit of these UpBar RS disposables.
