Our Verdict

Vaal Max disposables are yet another great disposable option. While these are marketed as being for DL vaping, I found that they deliver a loose MTL draw that is quite similar to other disposables on the market. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just isn’t a DL draw as they claim.

The performance is great and the flavors that I tried are mostly good. The 0.7Ω mesh coil provides great flavor and makes these a pleasure to use. The draw is also very smooth, perhaps thanks to the 17mg nicotine salt ejuice. This is much lower strength than most other disposables on the market so it could be a good option if you find higher strength disposable to be too strong.

Another pro is that these are rechargeable. The 850mAh battery will last for hundreds of puffs before dying but when it does, there’s a Type-C charging port that you can use to juice it back up.

A last pro that I can’t forget to mention is that you can easily refill these. I don’t think that this is what you’re supposed to do, but it’s possible and easy to do.

As for the cons, there are a few. One that I already mentioned is that it doesn’t provide a DL draw. Another is the size. While these come filled with 8ml of ejuice (which is a decent amount), there are similarly sized disposables that come prefilled with 14ml or more of ejuice like the BOBO and Vaporlax Draco. Lastly, the design is loud and definitely will not be to everyone’s liking.

Overall, these are good disposables but the size should make you consider larger capacity options. Although, if you like the low strength nicotine strength and flavor options then you’ll be happy with what these have to offer.

Vaal Max disposables are the latest disposables on the scene to boast a large ejuice capacity, as well as a rechargeable battery.

While these disposables are sold exclusively online on the Mi-Pod website, they are actually made and manufactured by Joyetech. Joyetech is a company that has been relatively quiet in the last few years, but they were once a pretty popular manufacturer and it seems like they’ve decided to try their hand at the world of disposable vapes.

Each Vaal Max comes filled with 8ml of nicotine salt ejuice in 17mg strength. They are advertised as providing a DL vaping experience that feels like a vape mod but we’ll see how true this is in this review. Each Vaal Max should last for around 3500 puffs and is rechargeable through a Type-C charging port. Also, while they aren’t advertised as such, I’ve discovered that you can refill these disposables! I’ll give you all of the details in this review.

Design & Build Quality

  • Vaal Max Disposables 3

Vaal Max disposables have one of the most interesting designs out of all of the disposables that I’ve reviewed recently. They are far from subtle or plain; these are actually the complete opposite. Each one has a differently colored graffiti themed design that matches the flavor inside. “VAAL” is printed in large graffiti lettering, along with the flavor printed in smaller graffiti script. It looks cool but the design is very over-the-top.

These are big for a disposable vape. They each come filled with 8ml of ejuice but they are actually just as large as other larger capacity disposables like the Vaporlax Bobo 14ml disposables that I reviewed a few weeks ago.

The battery capacity on the Vaal Max is 850mAh, not even as large as the 1000mAh battery on the Bobo’s, so that’s not the reason for the size either. In any case, these are big disposables. They are still portable if you’re only taking one or two with you at a time but any more and you will feel the weight in your pocket. Each one should last for around 3500 puffs.

The mouthpiece on these is more like a regular vape mod. After all, the Vaal Max is advertised as providing a “vaping experience that feels like a vape mod” so this type of drip tip makes sense. The size is somewhere in between a 510 and an 810 drip tip, with a medium bore opening.

Vaal Max Disposables Fill Port

Something that I found interesting about these disposables is that you can refill them! I don’t think that this is their intended use, but it is possible. You can remove the top cap with a quarter-turn counter-clockwise and this reveals two silicone stoppers.

Removing the stoppers gives you access to the fill holes which lead directly to the cotton that holds the ejuice. Since these are rechargeable you could, in theory, refill them once the ejuice has run out. I haven’t tried refilling yet because my ejuice hasn’t run out, but when it does I will give it a go and update this review.

On the bottom of each Vaal Max there is a Type-C charging port and an LED puff indicator. There is no airflow adjustment and the draw is what you get. I will touch more on the draw in my “How do they vape?” section later on.

Flavors

Vaal Max Disposables 7

Vaal Max disposables come in 16 different flavors. There’s a good amount of variety in flavors; there are fruit flavors, tobacco, dessert, and candy flavors to choose from. I received four fruit flavors and one candy flavor for this review.

I’m going to describe how each flavor tastes to me and what I think of them. Keep in mind that just because I like a flavor does not mean that you will like it, and vice-versa. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Lush Ice

Lush Ice is a staple flavor for any disposable. It’s done well here with sweet watermelon notes and light mentholated cooling. The menthol is not nearly as strong as other Lush Ice brands that I’ve tried and it makes this flavor even better. The sweet watermelon notes are tasty and enjoyable to vape on all day long.

Aloe Grape

I can’t remember ever vaping an aloe flavored vape so this is a first. This is primarily a sweet grape flavor with subtle aloe notes that add a little something extra to the profile. The aloe notes come in sharply on the inhale and reappear briefly on the exhale. There is more cooling here than their Lush Ice flavor but it rounds out the entire flavor nicely.

Cotton Candy

This flavor has some cotton candy flavor to it but it’s more of a candied berry taste in my opinion. It’s a different flavor from other candy disposables and it tastes alright but it’s not my go-to flavor of the bunch. There’s also some cooling here too.

Double Apple

I love a good apple flavored vape. This double apple flavor is pretty good because it isn’t overly sweet and delivers an accurate apple flavor. I like it the way that it is but I wouldn’t complain if it was a touch sweeter. This is the flavor that I liked the most out of all of the Vaal Max disposables.

Peach Mango

This is one of the best peach and mango mixes that I’ve tried. It’s the perfect balance of each fruit and you can distinctly taste each one. On the inhale I get more of the peach, while the exhale provides more mango. These two fruits mix really well together and the sweetness is perfect. In terms of my favorite flavor of the bunch, this is a close second to Double Apple.

How do they vape?

Vaal Max Disposables 5

The Vaal Max is marketed as being for DL vapers but I actually found that they deliver a loose mouth to lung draw. That’s not really a con to me but if you’re purchasing these hoping for a loose DL draw then you will be disappointed. I think that this loose MTL draw works very well for them though. There is no way to adjust the airflow.

The draw is very smooth but still satisfying. This is surprising considering that these are filled with 17mg nicotine salt ejuice which is relatively low strength for a disposable. I’m used to vaping 50mg disposables but I still found that the Vaal Max delivers a good draw with a good throat hit.

This 17mg nicotine strength makes it a good option for people who are looking to quit smoking, but maybe aren’t heavy smokers. But as I mentioned, I still found it satisfying to vape on and I’m used to vaping much higher strengths so the Vaal Max could still be good for heavier smokers too.

These are supposed to provide 3500+ puffs and they come with a rechargeable 850mAh battery to ensure that you get the maximum amount of puffs possible. I’ve vaped quite a bit on each of the flavors but up to this point they haven’t died on me. But that’s a good sign for their longevity because they are still going strong up to this point. I have no doubt that they could be recharged and provide hundreds more puffs without issue.

The draw activation works great. It’s consistent and doesn’t take too much effort to activate, which is nice. It doesn’t cut out while you draw and will continue firing as long as you pull. I also haven’t had any leaking at all, even when I’ve left them untouched for a day or two.
