The bottom line

The ECO NANO is a pod vape that is certainly more economical than the competition. If you’re concerned about how much you’re spending in pods then this is a device that’s worth taking a look at. The 6ml pod can be filled and forgotten about for quite some time, and you’ll get multiple refills out of a single pod. Put that together and it means less pods that you have to purchase and more time overall that you can spend vaping.

The ECO NANO is also as user friendly as it is economical. Fill the pod, insert it, and draw to vape. It’s an extremely easy device to get into vaping with and, because the pods last so long, you don’t need to break the bank to start vaping either.

My main complaint with this device is that the LED indicator only lights up white, so you have no idea where the charge level is at. Charging it every other night is a good way to ensure that it doesn’t die on you randomly, but a multi-colored indicator would have been ideal.

Overall, the ECO NANO is a pod vape that I can easily recommend to price-conscious vapers, new vapers, or both.

The ECO NANO is one of the latest pod devices from behemoth brand, VAPORESSO. As the name suggests, it’s meant to be a more economical alternative to other pod vapes or even disposable vapes

The ECO NANO has a 6ml pod which VAPORESSO claims can last for up to 13000 puffs. This is thanks to its use of VAPORESSO’s ‘Corex Heating Tech’, which ensures even heating and better flavor accuracy, which in turn improves the pod lifespan.

The bigger picture here is that longer pod life means less waste from used-up pods, which is good for the environment. The ECO NANO even comes in eco-friendly packaging to reduce plastic pollution.

Inside of each device is a built-in 1000mAh battery which recharges with Type-C charging.

The ECO NANO was sent to me directly by VAPORESSO for the purpose of this review. This does not in any way affect my opinions or thoughts on the device.

Design & Build Quality

  • VAPORESSO ECO NANO - 1

The ECO NANO is super small and it’s a very cute device. Seeing as VAPORESSO are posing it as an alternative to pod vapes and disposable vapes, it’s nice that it’s so compact. It’s even smaller than most large capacity disposables and the ECO NANO has the added benefit of being refillable.

The device is 77mm tall, 44.7mm wide, and 18mm thick with the pod installed. I can easily conceal it completely in my palm, which is nice for some stealth vaping. It’s also a nice size to take with me out of the house while I’m running errands, without adding much weight or size to my person.

The simple design is attractive. The square shape is pretty standard, but all of the edges and corners are rounded for a better look and hand-feel. There are fourteen colors available, some of which will fly under the radar, and other which are vibrant and stand out.

The colors can be broken down into three types: solid colors, gradients, and graffiti designs. There are seven gradient colors, three solid colors, and four graffiti designs. The gradient colors feature a metallic finish that has a nice luster, while the gradients and graffiti designs feature a soft-touch coating. All of the color options are really nice, so you might have a hard time choosing which one to get.

I received the Sakura Pink metallic gradient and Spring Green soft-touch graffiti design for this review. I can’t decide which one I like best as they’re both really cool in their own way. The metallic look is nice, but the soft-touch coating feels so good in the hand.

The metallic gradient colors stand out less than the graffiti designs. The gradient on my Sakura Pink unit isn’t very strong as the two colors are very close, but it’s noticeable if you look closely. The front of the device has a VAPORESSO logo, as well as ECO NANO ‘Just Chill’, printed on the front. Otherwise there’s no other branding so it’s a pretty clean look.

The graffiti design stands out a lot more. There’s a busy graphic on the front which mainly consists of “nano” written in graffiti style lettering. Of course, there’s also VAPORESSO and ECO NANO, along with some design lines. It’s busy but it definitely looks cool.

VAPORESSO ECO NANO - 10

The pod attaches magnetically to the device. It’s a wide pod that is not very tall, but this width is what allows it to hold 6ml of ejuice. There’s also a TPD version available that holds 2ml of ejuice.

The pod has a very light tint which does not affect visibility to the inside at all. I can easily see how much ejuice is remaining at a glance and that gets a big thumbs up from me. The mouthpiece is small but comfortable, with a gradual curve to fit my lips nicely.

The pod is bottom filled through a large square port that is plugged with a large and thick rubber bung. I usually have my concerns about bottom-filled pods as they tend to leak, but I haven’t had any ejuice or even condensation under the pod. Filling is quick and seamless, so I have no complaints to report here.

On the bottom of the ECO NANO is a Type-C charging port, so you have to lay the device down to charge it.

Features

VAPORESSO ECO NANO - 9

The ECO NANO is meant to be eco-friendly, but it’s also meant to be beginner-friendly. As such, there aren’t many user-customizable features to take note of. However, there are some important aspects of the ECO NANO which work without any user input, and these features are the reasons why you would choose the ECO NANO over another device.

We’ll start with the biggest feature; the pod. Of course, it holds 6ml of ejuice, which is a lot of ejuice. This is great for heavy vapers because you won’t be refilling the device as often as you would with a 2ml pod.

But the capacity isn’t the main feature of the ECO NANO, at least not on its own. Like many of VAPORESSO’s other recent devices, the ECO NANO pods feature what VAPORESSO calls their ‘Corex Heating Tech’. This means that the pod uses a unique morph-mesh coil and COREX cotton for better wicking, more even heating, and improved flavor.

In addition to the above, this COREX Heating Tech also means an improved pod lifespan. With the ECO NANO, you can expect to vape up to and around 13000 puffs before having to replace the pod, which is a lot of ejuice. This is according to testing data from the VAPORESSO LAB.

By my calculations, if true, you’re looking at vaping over 60ml of ejuice through a pod before having to replace it. When you consider that you would be lucky to get 30ml of ejuice out of any other ‘good’ pod, the ECO NANO definitely sounds pretty economical.

The ECO NANO pods also feature VAPORESSO’s anti-leaking ‘SSS Tech’. This pod design reduces the chances of leaking and, in my experience with the ECO NANO and other SSS pods, it works pretty well.

A last but very important point that I would like to make is the positioning of the wicking ports for the coil. The ports are located right at the very bottom of the coil, on the same level as the floor of the pod. This is good because, due to the width of the pod, you still need a decent amount of ejuice in there for it to wick properly. By having the wicking ports so low, this makes it very difficult to get a dry hit unless you run the pod completely dry.

Battery life & Charging

VAPORESSO ECO NANO - 7

The 1000mAh battery that is built into the ECO NANO is rechargeable with Type-C charging, through a port located on the bottom of the device. As a heavy vaper, I’m able to get 2-3 days of vaping out of a single charge. That’s good battery life no doubt, especially since I’m not having to refill the pod as often because of the 6ml capacity.

However, I do have a major complaint. The LED light on the front of the ECO NANO lights up each time that you take a draw, but it only lights up white. There’s no indication of the battery charge level, nor do you get any sort of warning that the battery is about to die. I’ve taken the ECO NANO out of the house thinking that I have more than enough battery life left, only for the battery to die shortly after.

That’s obviously less than ideal. I would have liked to see a three color battery indicator, perhaps blue and red added in there for better clarity on the charge level. I will note that my unit is marked as a sample, so perhaps this will change for the production version.

Charging is also less quick that I would hope for, taking around an hour and forty minutes for a full charge. The ECO NANO only supports 1A charging, and 2A charging would obviously be better and quicker. At least the ECO NANO supports pass-through charging, so you can vape on it while it recharges.

Performance

VAPORESSO ECO NANO - 8

This is the section where we dive into all of the big claims of the ECO NANO. The biggest claim is that a single pod can last for 13000 puffs, which (if my calculations are correct) is somewhere around 60ml of ejuice.

Thus far, I’ve refilled the ECO NANO about 5 times. That’s 30ml of ejuice and probably somewhere around 6000 puffs. At this point, the performance is still the same as when I first started using it. There’s been no drop off in the flavor or vapor quality and that’s very impressive.

I’ve been using 60VG and 50/50 ejuices with this pod and it wicks both of these without any problems. I’ve also been making sure to keep the pod filled so that I don’t get any dry hits. Even though the wicking ports are set so low, it’s a good idea to always keep the pod at least ⅓ of the way filled.

The overall flavor from the ECO NANO is just as good as VAPORESSO’s other pods, which is good. I get a ton of flavor from my ejuices and it’s a high quality vaping experience with good vapor quality and a nice dense draw.

The airflow is non-adjustable on the ECO NANO. You’ll get a tight MTL draw that is very smooth, and you don’t have to try too hard to get it to fire. The draw activation is perfect and activates instantly and easily.

I’ll reiterate a con that I mentioned earlier though, which is that the battery dies without warning. If you want to avoid this, I recommend charging the ECO NANO every other night at minimum, if not every day if you can. It sucks to be out of the house and have it die seemingly out of nowhere, so I did what I could to avoid this situation.

Verdict

The ECO NANO is a pod vape that is certainly more economical than the competition. If you’re concerned about how much you’re spending in pods then this is a device that’s worth taking a look at.
