The bottom line

WOTOFO’s latest disposable vape is also their best yet. I really like the design, which is a departure from the more bold and ‘fun’ disposable designs that they’ve released in the past. While it isn’t without its faults, the nexBar 16K brings a lot to the table like a good flavor selection, good flavor, a satisfying vaping experience, and large and clear battery and ejuice readouts.

The three different wattage outputs is nice to have but with the 50mg/ml strength versions of the nexBar 16K, I mostly stuck with ECO mode because the draw was strong enough. I can see these output levels being more useful with the 20mg/ml version of the nexBar 16K though.

Vapers who prefer a tight MTL draw will want to look at another disposable, but anyone who enjoy a MTL draw that is a bit loose will get good enjoyment and usage out of the nexBar 16K. They’re a bit pricey at $27.99 on WOTOFO’s website but you get a lot for your money. Recommended.

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed anything from Wotofo but I’m back with a review on their latest disposable, the nexBar 16K.

With the slowdown in demand for rebuildable tanks and mods, Wotofo has pivoted from their previous focus on rebuildable tanks and have been cranking out disposable vapes in all different shapes and puff-counts.

Their latest, the nexBar 16K, brings features and specs that put it right up there with other top mid-high puff count disposables on the market. It brings a large display screen with battery and eliquid percentages, three selectable output modes, and a 630mAh rechargeable battery.

Each nexBar 16K comes prefilled with 20ml of ejuice for up to 16000 puffs. The ejuice inside is atomized by a dual nexMesh coil inside of each device. The nexBar 16K is available in 20mg or 50mg nicotine salt strength.

Is Wotofo’s latest disposable vape a hit or a miss? I’ve been using them for nearly a month to find out.

  • Size: 93mm x 48mm x 25mm
  • Weight:
  • 630mAh Rechargeable battery
  • Type-C Charging
  • 3 Wattage settings: ECO, Normal, Turbo
  • Up to 16,000 Puffs (ECO mode)
  • 2% (20mg) or 5% (50mg) Nicotine content
  • Draw activated
  • MTL draw
  • 15 Flavor options

Design & Build Quality

  • Wotofo nexBar 16K Disposables - 5

The nexBar 16K looks drastically different from any of Wotofo’s other disposable vapes and, if you ask me, it’s a huge step in the right direction.

The nexBar 16K looks clean, professional, and high-end – a departure from the more ‘fun’ and radical designs that they’ve used in the past. For me, as an older man in his 30s, this design suits me better. It’s still stylish and good-looking but without being juvenile or toy-ish.

Each nexBar 16K is a rectangle shape with rounded corners and edges. They’re 93mm tall, 48mm wide, and 25mm thick; slightly tall but still right within the parameters for a perfectly-sized disposable. Especially considering that each one has 20ml of ejuice packed inside, as well as a decent size 630mAh battery, the size isn’t bad at all.

The soft-touch plastic shell is a nice addition here and it makes holding these a pleasure. I could do without the large raised branding of NEXBAR on one side and WOTOFO on the other, but this doesn’t affect the comfort too much. The flavor is also printed in smaller lettering, just above the NEXBAR branding.

The pastel colors are something that not everyone will like, but I don’t mind them too much. Each flavor comes in one of pastel colors: mint green, pink, neon green, baby blue, or purple.

The mouthpiece is made of plastic and it’s transparent but tinted to match the color of the device. The mouthpiece is a wide oval and the opening is a large bore, leading to some lint and dust getting trapped inside of it anytime that I put it in my pocket. I got into the habit of making sure the mouthpiece was clean before vaping and you’ll want to do the same. It’s no fun inhaling a small piece of lint, I’ll tell you that!

The display encompasses one entire side of the nexBar 16K and it’s a beauty to behold. It’s quite bright and clear and, even though it’s relatively simple, it’s one of the nicest screens that I’ve seen on a disposable vape. There’s just something about the crisp, large numbers and simple display that is very alluring.

There’s one single button on the nexBar 16K which is used to change the output mode and turn on the display. It’s quite responsive and does its job of being a button but I had a problem with one of my devices where the button became pressed in more than it should be. It still works, it just takes extra force to actually activate the button and change the output mode.

Features

Wotofo nexBar 16K Disposables - 12

The nexBar 16K is really beginner friendly. There’s no adjustable airflow and, although there are three output modes, it’s as simple as clicking the button to cycle between them. Otherwise, there’s nothing to adjust or worry about with the nexBar 16K so it’s very easy to use, even if it’s your first vape.

However, just because it’s beginner friendly doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have a lot to offer, because it does. It’s just that these features work with little to no user-input, doing their thing in the background.

The first, big ‘background’ feature is the display. Upon taking a draw, the screen will turn on and display your battery level percent and your remaining eliquid percent. Each of these is clearly labeled so there’s no mixing them up. But one thing that you have to be careful of is reading the display the correct way; you’ll want to have the mouthpiece facing your left.

Another background feature is the coil. The nexBar 16K uses Wotofo’s ‘dual nexMESH coil’, variations of which have been used in their subohm and rebuildable tanks. From my experience with those tanks, nexMESH coils are some of the most flavorful coils out there. The flavor from the nexBar 16K is similarly good, especially since there are two of these coils inside.

Each nexBar 16K comes prefilled with 20ml of ejuice which can get you up to 16,000 puffs, depending on which output mode you use. The 16,000 puff count rating is based on using the device exclusively in ECO mode, which is the lowest power output.

Using it in normal or Turbo mode will decrease the amount of puffs that you’ll be able to get out of each device. How much it will decrease though is unknown because Wotofo doesn’t provide any specific information.

Another mystery is the power output of each mode. I can tell that normal is slightly stronger than eco, and turbo is slightly stronger than normal, but I don’t know the exact wattage output of each one. Again, there’s no information available on Wotofo’s website.

Flavors

Wotofo nexBar 16K Disposables - 1

There are 15 flavors available for the nexBar 16K, however not all of them are available for both nicotine strengths that they offer. The available flavors for each nicotine strength are:

Shared Flavors

  • Blackberry Ice
  • Blueberry Raspberry
  • Cherry Lemon
  • Grape Ice
  • Mint
  • Monster Ice
  • Sour Apple
  • Strawberry Ice
  • Strawberry Kiwi
  • Watermelon Bubblegum

50mg Exclusive Flavors

  • Spearmint
  • Watermelon Ice

20mg Exclusive Flavors

  • Clear
  • Mentos Mint
  • Skittlez

It’s weird to have flavors that are only available in certain nicotine strengths but thankfully this only affects five flavors. The other ten flavors are shared between the two nicotine strengths so there’s still plenty of options available, no matter which one you pick.

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Monster Ice

This flavor is available in both 50mg and 20mg nicotine strengths. It has an energy-drink-like taste that more reminds me of Redbull than Monster. Just like the energy drinks, it’s hard to describe the exact flavor but if you’ve ever had a redbull then you’ll recognize the taste. The ice component here is very strong, much stronger than the other ‘ice’ flavors, so be prepared for an icy blast.

Strawberry Kiwi

This is a nice balanced mix of strawberry and kiwi. At first you might think that the kiwi is stronger but then the strawberry flavor comes in just as strongly. Both flavors are equally as strong and mix and meld together all throughout the inhale and exhale. There’s no sign of ice in this flavor.

Cherry Lemon

One of my favorite flavors for the nexBar 16K, Cherry Lemon, is different and refreshing. Light but sharp cherry notes are followed by the clean taste of zesty lemon. The cherry flavor is sweet but so is the lemon so they both add a nice taste to this vape.

Blueberry Raspberry

This flavor is as good as any other blue razz flavor that I’ve tried. Wotofo’s version is middle of the pack in terms of sweetness and the flavor itself is just right for blue razz. A little bit of candy, a little bit natural, and overall a really enjoyable flavor.

Watermelon Ice

This flavor is exclusive to the 50mg nicotine strength so unfortunately if you only vape 20mg, you’ll be missing out on one of the best flavors for the nexBar 16K. This is basically a ‘Lush Ice’ flavor with natural watermelon and a bit of cooling to top it all off. The balance of fruitiness and sweetness is just perfect so this quickly became a flavor that I vaped on all day.

How do they vape?

Wotofo nexBar 16K Disposables - 2

I’ve been using the 50mg version of the nexBar 16K and I’ve found them to be more than satisfying to use. I rarely used the ‘TURBO’ mode and most often I used ECO mode, sometimes switching to Normal mode. That’s good news for me, because ECO mode is where the nexBar 16K will provide the rated 16,000 puffs. The draw is strong enough even in ECO mode, so I didn’t feel the need to set the output any higher.

I can’t help but think that this strong draw, even on the lowest output mode, has a lot to do with the dual nexMESH coils. I mentioned earlier that I had used nexMESH coils with some of WOTOFO’s other tanks (like the nexMESH Pro tank). While the experience is not really comparable between a high-powered tank and a low-powered disposable, the flavor is really good and the draw is pretty powerful for a small disposable vape.

Adjustable airflow is definitely something that I missed having but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The draw is a mouth to lung one that is verging on being a loose MTL draw but it vapes well enough. Being able to tune the draw to be just a bit tighter would have been ideal but it’s still very much a MTL draw that most MTL vapers should enjoy (as long as you aren’t super picky about your exact draw).

The 630mAh battery could have also been larger, but again, not a deal breaker. I managed just about two days of vaping per charge but that’s in ‘ECO’ mode. If you use normal or turbo mode then you’ll likely get much less usage time than this. They charge really quickly though and only take 50 minutes for a full charge from 0%.

Verdict

WOTOFO’s latest disposable vape is also their best yet. I really like the design, which is a departure from the more bold and ‘fun’ disposable designs that they’ve released in the past. While it isn’t without its faults, the nexBar 16K brings a lot to the table like a good flavor selection, good flavor, a satisfying vaping experience, and large and clear battery and ejuice readouts.
