The bottom line

Compared to the nexBar 16K, the nexBar 20K is just more. The device is larger, it has a larger screen, more ejuice, more puffs, more options for airflow.

The only area where it isn’t more is in flavor selection, which is disappointing, but the flavor options are more than just the typical “blue razz” and “strawberry ice”. It has those two flavors too, but also unique ones like Forest Berries, Pina Colada, and Dragon Fruit Berry, all of which are really good.

The use of the display area could use some tweaking to make more important elements more visible. The large animation is distracting and begs attention, which I’m not a fan of. But otherwise, the nexBar 20K is a great device overall with performance that matches the high-quality appearance.

The $29.99 price tag on Wotofo’s website is a little steep when compared to other disposables with a similar puff count, but there’s no doubt that you’ll still get your money’s worth. Highly recommended.

After the huge success of their nexBar 16K, Wotofo has upped the puffs, increased the ejuice capacity, and completely changed the design to bring us the next iteration in the nexBar series, the nexBar 20K disposable vape.

The nexBar 20K offers an impressive 20,000 puffs and comes with 24ml of eliquid. It uses dual mesh coils for improved efficiency, flavor, and vapor production and has three output modes: ECO, Normal, and Turbo. It also has an airflow control slider to adjust the draw.

Other notable features include a 1.44-inch TFT display which shows battery and ejuice levels, a rechargeable 1000mAh battery, and ten tasty-sounding flavors. The nexBar 20K is available in 20mg/ml and 50mg/ml nicotine strengths.

In this review I’ll go over everything that you need to know about the nexBar 20K, including the design, flavors, and performance. I’ll also compare it with its predecessor, the nexBar 16K, to give you an idea of where it stands and who it’s for.

Design & Build Quality

  • Wotofo nexBar 20K Disposables - 5

Even though this is the successor to the nexBar 16K, the two devices look nothing alike. Along with the increased ejuice and puff count over the nexBar 16K, the nexBar 20K has also increased in size.

With a 105mm height, 44m width, and 29.7mm thickness, it’s a little too large to be unnoticeable in your pocket. Good luck carrying more than one of these around with you at a time! It’s still portable but really only with one at a time.

The large size and spiffy design make the nexBar 20K look more like a single battery mod posing as a disposable than an actual disposable. The oval shape and rounded sides make it really comfortable to hold and I think that it’s a very nice looking disposable.

The sides and back of the device are made of aluminum alloy finished with a nice coating of paint. There is also a NEXBAR logo and cartoony images of fruits which are printed onto the back.

Although some might say that this imagery makes them appealing to kids (and they’re probably right), they’re appealing to me as an adult and I think that it gives each device a unique look. It also allows me to easily tell the flavors apart so I know exactly which one I’m grabbing.

The front of each device has a black panel, under which is the 1.44-inch display. Below this display is the flavor of the device which is printed in large letting and a very appealing font, as well as a smaller version of the cartoony fruits that are on the back.

The display is huge but it’s a stretch to call it a screen. It would be most accurate to call it a backlit display. Regardless of what it is, it’s very flashy thanks to the NEXBAR logo and rotating lightning bolts that take up most of the space. There’s no way to turn this animation off either and that’s going to lose the device some points.

Compared to the nexBar 16K, the nexBar 20K is larger and flashier, but I think that it has a nicer design. If portability is a big concern for you, the nexBar 20k probably isn’t what you’re looking for.

Features

Wotofo nexBar 20K Disposables - 2

This disposable has all of the features that I like to see from a device, as well as some that I don’t. The flashy display takes up way too much of the screen real-estate for being essentially useless, and I can see better ways that Wotofo could have used the space.

Compared to the animation, the mode selection and ejuice indicators are tiny. These should have been bigger for better ease-of-use. The indicators are also displayed as five dots, with each dot representing 20%. Instead of this style of indicators, Wotofo could have reduced the animation size and displayed percentage style indicators instead which would have been much clearer and easier to read at-a-glance.

The mode indicator is located right at the top of the display and shows the three modes: ECO, Normal, and Turbo. A small arrow indicates which mode the device is set to. You can change modes by pressing the button on the bottom of the device.

Another thing that you can do with the button is to put it in childlock mode. This is done by holding the button until the device turns off, which is helpful for if you put your vape down around children.

Like the nexBar 16K, the nexBar 20K uses Wotofo’s ‘Dual nexMESH coils’. This is two mesh coils inside of each device which either alternate or work simultaneously, depending on which mode you’re in. I believe that in eco and normal modes they alternate, and in turbo mode they work simultaneously, but don’t quote me on this.

Each device comes with 24ml of ejuice which allows you to get up to 20,000 puffs. The exact amount of puffs that you’ll be able to get will depend on which mode you vape in though. In ECO mode you can expect to get the full 20,000 puffs but expect lower puff counts if you vape in normal or turbo modes.

The power output of each mode is as follows:

  • ECO: 15.6W
  • Normal: 19.2W
  • Turbo: 23.1W

The airflow control slider on the bottom of each device can be used to alter the airflow from a mouth-to-lung draw to a tight mouth-to-lung draw. There’s a nice range of adjustment that is possible using the slider and small adjustments are easy due to the stiffness of the slider, which is just right.

Next to the airflow slider is a Type-C charging port, which is used to recharge the nexBar 20K.

Flavors

Wotofo nexBar 20K Disposables - 3

There are only ten flavors available for the nexBar 20K, which is five less than there was for the nexBar 16K at release. These flavors are:

  • Tropical Ice
  • Three Melons
  • Forest Berries
  • Blue Razz Ice
  • Pina Colada
  • Hawaiian Shore Ice
  • Dragon Fruit Berry
  • Strawberry Kiwi
  • Watermelon Ice
  • Blackberry Ice

of these flavors are shared with the nexBar 16K: Watermelon Ice, Blackberry Ice, and Strawberry Kiwi. The other seven flavors (Tropical Ice, Three Melons, Forest Berries, Blue Razz Ice, Pina Colada, Hawaiian Shore Ice, Dragon Fruit Berry) are new to the nexBar 20K.

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Tropical Ice

This tropical mix brings flavors of guava, kiwi, and passion fruit. Guava and passion fruit are the strongest, with kiwi rounding out the exhale. It’s a natural tasting vape with maybe a little extra sweetness added on top.

Dragon Fruit Berry

Dragon Fruit and raspberries are the main components in this flavor. If there are any other berries, I don’t taste them. Dragon fruit is the most prominent flavor which I can taste all throughout the inhale and exhale. Raspberry is more of a secondary flavor which just gives little hints on the exhale.

Strawberry Kiwi

Both the strawberry and kiwi flavors are equal in parts and both mix around and pop out as I’m vaping. I like the way that this mix tastes, with neither fruit flavor overpowering the other. It’s really balanced and nice.

Pina Colada

This flavor really grew on me during my time with these disposables and it’s now one of my favorite flavors. It’s sweet and tastes just like the non-alcoholic version of the drink, with really a really nice pineapple flavor.

Blue Razz Ice

This flavor is basically the nexBar 16K “Blueberry Raspberry”. It tastes just the same, with a medium level of sweetness and a slightly candied taste. It’s not leagues better than other blue razz flavors that I’ve tried, at least nothing about the flavor stands out for me. But it’s a good blue razz that I’m sure blue razz lovers will like.

How do they vape?

Wotofo nexBar 20K Disposables - 4

I’ve been vaping the nexBar 20K in the 20mg/ml strength and not once have I thought that they were not strong enough. I’ve found myself reaching for these disposables specifically during my review period of two weeks and they’ve been more than satisfying enough.

Aside from the large size and flashy display, I like everything else about them. The vaping experience is excellent and that’s certainly the most important factor with a disposable. I like how the draw is with the airflow wide open – a true mouth-to-lung draw that hits the spot just right.

If you like a tighter draw then you can get that with the nexBar 20K by adjusting the airflow slider. It’s a good range for MTL vapers, allowing you to get down to a very tight MTL draw. This is one of the best, if not the best, MTL disposable that I’ve tried this year. Surprising considering the size (you would think that it would be a RDL device) but not unwelcome by me.

The lowest wattage mode, ECO, outputs 15.6W. I found this to be more than enough for a satisfying draw and I really like how warm the vapor is. Normal is an equally enjoyable experience, if not a little too strong. Turbo mode is a mode that I rarely used because the high wattage output felt like it was delivering far too much vapor and nicotine. But if you’re not feeling satisfied enough by the lower two modes, Turbo will definitely give you the vape that you’re after.

The 1000mAh battery seems to last a long time, rarely giving out before three days of use. This was with mostly ECO mode usage though and battery life will be shorter if used in the other two modes.

Verdict

Compared to the nexBar 16K, the nexBar 20K is just more. The device is larger, it has a larger screen, more ejuice, more puffs, more options for airflow.

The $29.99 price tag on Wotofo’s website is a little steep when compared to other disposables with a similar puff count, but there’s no doubt that you’ll still get your money’s worth. Highly recommended.
