ZOVOO DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition Review

ZOVOO is showing no signs of slowing down on releasing disposable vapes. They’ve just released the DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition, which is very similar to the DRAGBAR B5000, but with a new design and ten new flavors.

I previously reviewed the B5000 and I was absolutely impressed with the performance, flavors, and battery life. ZOVOO knows what they’re doing with disposables and I’m reminded of this any time that I use one of their products. 

Since the B5000 CE is (from what I can see) basically the same device as the B5000, I’m expecting the performance to be just as good. However, the flavors are going to be the deciding factor on if the B5000 CE is better than its predecessor.

Each ZOVOO DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition disposable comes in a compact body that holds 13ml of ejuice and a 500mAh battery that recharges with Type-C. Together, you should get around 5000 puffs from each device. These disposables are available in 20mg/ml and 50mg/ml nicotine strengths.

Is the DRAGBAR B5000 CE a disposable worth getting? I’ll go over the design, build quality, flavors, and performance, so that you can decide for yourself if it’s the right disposable for you.

Design & Build Quality

The DRAGBAR B5000 CE has the same shape and size as the original at 79.6mm tall, 44mm wide, and 22.6mm deep. It’s a compact vape with a shape that is attractive from the get-go, both for how it looks and how it feels in the hand.

The rectangular shape with rounded edges and sides is super comfortable to hold. The size and thickness give it a nice shape to grip, but they’re still small enough to completely conceal in my palm. 

You can easily tell the B5000 CE apart from the original B5000 by the color-scheme and finish of the shell. Whereas the original featured a matte plastic finish with a single color for each device, the B5000 CE has a shiny body with a gradient of two colors. The colors of the devices definitely support the “Cosmic Edition” name and I think that they all look really great.

The shiny finish does make these a little more slippery to hold than the original with its matte finish, but I haven’t dropped them yet. If I had to choose between the two based purely on looks, the original or the Cosmic Edition, I would go with the Cosmic Edition every time. The design of the original was great, but the shiny finish and two-tone gradient definitely brings the looks up a notch.

On the front of each one you’ll find DRAGBAR B5000 printed in large lettering, although there’s no mention of it being the Cosmic Edition. The flavor is also printed in smaller lettering next to the logo.

A design feature that I’m glad that ZOVOO didn’t change from the original is the crystal mouthpiece. It gives the mouthpiece a 3D appearance that is unique and attractive. It’s also shaped comfortably, with a nice slope that feels good on the lips.

Finally, the bottom of the device is where you’ll find the Type-C charging port, airflow intake hole, and LED indicator.

Features

The DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition is essentially the same as the original in terms of the specs. It uses the same mesh coil and comes filled with 13ml of ejuice. It also has the same size 500mAh battery which recharges with Type-C charging.

You can get the B5000 CE in either 20mg/ml or 50mg/ml nicotine strengths. Sadly, for you zero nicotine vapers, they aren’t offering 0mg/ml as an option just yet.

The 13ml of ejuice inside of each one and the 500mAh rechargeable battery should get you somewhere around 5000 puffs per device. Each one lasts for a few hundred puffs per charge and you’ll feel the draw getting weaker as it dies, which gives you some heads-up that you should start looking for somewhere to recharge soon.

These recharge quickly in only about 30 minutes, so downtime is minimal. However, you can’t vape on these while they recharge as they do not feature pass-thru charging.

Like most disposables, these are draw-activated and only require that you inhale on the mouthpiece in order to vape. There’s no adjustable wattage or adjustable airflow, so inhaling on the mouthpiece and recharging it when it’s dead are all that you need to worry about.

Flavors

In addition to the new design, the DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition also brings ten new flavors to the table. These flavors are completely different from the ones offered by the original. The ten new flavors are:

• Wildberry Mojito
• Grape Ice
• Raspberry Lemon
• Tropical Rainbow Blast
• Pineapple Coconut
• Strawberry Banana
• Strawberry Kiwi

All of these are interesting mixes and different from the ten original B5000 flavors. Like most disposable brands flavor options, fruits are a big portion of the flavors. But there are also three drink themed flavors and I think Root Beer is particularly unique as it’s a flavor that you don’t see too often.

For this review I’ll be going over five of these flavors. I’m going to describe how each of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Root Beer

I’ll start with the most interesting of the bunch first. Root Beer tastes as you would expect; like root beer. It has that bite that you expect when drinking a glass of root beer, along with a carbonated feeling/sensation that I really love. Like the drink, this flavor isn’t overly sweet but has slightly bitter notes and a pleasant aftertaste that is very authentic.

Blueberry Smoothie

This flavor has a bit of an ice cream taste to it in that I get that same “ice cream aftertaste” that I don’t find all that great. The blueberry flavor is also extremely subtle and barely perceptible. If you like that dense ice cream taste then you might like this flavor, but I don’t taste the smoothie component of this flavor at all.

Strawberry Banana

You can’t really go wrong with a strawberry banana flavor and ZOVOO has done a good job with their version here. It’s not as sweet as many strawberry banana flavors that I’ve tried and I like that about this version. The light mix of the two fruits is pleasant and just sweet enough that it’s enjoyable. I can also vape on this flavor all day, so five stars all around.

Peach Mango Watermelon

There’s a decent amount of cooling here that hits you immediately on the inhale. I taste all three flavors equally, although the peach flavor lingers a little longer than the other two fruit flavors. If you’re a fan of tropical vapes then you’ll definitely like this flavor.

Raspberry Lemon

I vaped the heck out of this flavor! It’s basically a raspberry lemonade flavor and ZOVOO really nailed it. It has a natural flavor and the mix is perfectly done. Natural raspberry and lemon flavors hit you from the second you inhale and follow-through all the way until you’re done with your exhale. This is hands-down my favorite of the five flavors that I tried and I highly recommend trying this one out.

How do they vape?

Aside from the new flavors and new design, the DRAGBAR B5000 CE vapes identically to the original. It uses the same mesh coil after all, so the performance being the same is something that I expected. Still, the new flavors make reexperiencing the performance novel and almost new again and I had no qualms about using the B5000 CE for the three weeks that I’ve had them on hand for review.

There’s no adjustable airflow here but the draw is excellent as it is. I get a tight mouth to lung draw that feels just right, along with warm vapor that is just the right temperature for me. The mesh coil does a great job of effectively vaporizing the ejuice for a strong throat hit that is still smooth and flavorful.

On the topic of the flavor, the amount of flavor that these produce is impressive for a disposable vape. You would think that you have to sacrifice some flavor when using a disposable, but these guys prove that this isn’t the case. These are just as flavorful as some pod vapes that I’ve used and that’s no exaggeration.

The units that I’m using are in 50mg/ml strength but as I mentioned earlier, they are also available in 20mg/ml strength. The 50mg is very satisfying but not harsh, so they’re perfect for heavier vapers/smokers. The 20mg/ml is going to be better for lighter or social smokers/vapers as they’ll still deliver that nice hit of nicotine but without being too much.

Like the original B5000, the draw activated firing works flawlessly and doesn’t take too much effort to activate. It won’t activate accidentally (at least they haven’t for me), and it works immediately each time that I go to draw. These also haven’t leaked at all on me while I’ve been using them, even after thousands of puffs with certain ones (I’m looking at you Raspberry Lemon).

Verdict

The ZOVOO DRAGBAR B5000 CE is just as good as the original, maybe even better depending on how much you like the design and the new flavors. That’s really all that’s changed too; a new design and ten new flavor options to try out. They’re still the same great disposables with a tight mouth to lung draw, warm vapor, excellent battery life, and all-around excellent performance.

In my opinion, the two-tone gradient design and shiny shell are more attractive than the original. It just looks more attractive and I feel that the shiny shell matches with the clear mouthpiece a bit better than the matte finish on the original B5000.

As for the flavors, I liked four out of the five that I tried and the other five that they offer sound great as well. I don’t think that these new flavors are leaps better than the flavors offered by the original but they do give you something new to try if you’ve already worked your way through all of the ten original flavors that ZOVOO offers.

Overall, the B5000 Cosmic Edition is a disposable vape that you can’t go wrong with. It’s compact, aesthetically pleasing, and the performance is great. You’ll get around 5000 puffs out of each one, so you’ll get to enjoy the device for quite a while too.
