Get the most out of your CBD with these high-quality CBD vape cartridges
As the popularity of cannabidiol, or CBD, has increased, so too have the ways in which it can be taken. You can now get your dose of CBD from gummies, capsules, skin creams, lotions, oils, and more. But one of the most effective ways to get CBD into your body is by vaping it.
CBD vape juice has been available for a while now, and the variety of flavors, strengths, and compatible kits continues to grow. CBD vape cartridges, either pre-filled or refillable, are one of the easiest methods of adding CBD to your life. Especially if you already vape and have a mod or kit which uses the 510 thread connector that is common on CBD cartridges.
Vaping CBD oil has several advantages over taking it orally in a capsule or gummy. The main advantage is that the beneficial effects of CBD will be felt very rapidly, thanks to the inhaled vapor being easily absorbed in your lungs. Another advantage is that you can micro dose your CBD throughout the day rather than taking a capsule in the morning or evening.
Of course, the choice of flavors is another big plus of choosing a CBD vape cartridge. No matter if you prefer the more natural plant terpenes or want the taste of fresh fruit, cooling mint, or even sweet candy, there is a CBD vape flavor for you.
Let’s take a look at the best pre-filled and refillable CBD vape cartridges available right now.

How we test
Created using American-grown hemp, natural terpene flavors, and very little else, Tribe Tokes CBD vape cartridges give one of the cleanest CBD vaping experiences around. All the pre-filled cartridges contain full-spectrum CBD derived from either Sativa, Indica, or hybrid plant strains, and are available in full and half-gram sizes. This makes it easy to pick and choose what works best for you.
The flavors are well thought out and delicious, although perhaps more subtle than flavors found in some other CBD cartridges. That doesn’t mean there is a lack of variety, just a definite leaning toward more natural flavors. You can opt for a more herbal taste with something like Northern Lights or go for the sweeter fruit flavors of Mango Haze and Pineapple Express.
The high-quality cartridges are designed to be leak-proof and easy to use. The ceramic coil ensures the liquid is vaporized evenly, cleanly, and without burning. They all use 510 threaded connectors, so if you don’t want to use the Tribe Tokes battery, many other vape mods can take its place.

If you want (or need) your CBD vape juice to be free from THC but still packed with great flavor, natural terpenes, and beneficial plant extracts, these Funky Farms cartridges are a great choice.
All of the enticingly-named Funky Farms vape cartridges contain broad-spectrum CBD distillate, and even the trace amounts of THC found in legal hemp is removed during processing. The hemp comes from sustainable and fully licensed Oregon farms and is processed in small batches. That helps to avoid the oxidization and crystalization that can occur if CBD oil is stored for too long.
But let’s get back to those flavors. From the Lemon Cake and Frosty Watermelon to Sour Space Candy and Peppermint Kush, everything sounds delicious and like something we’d want to taste again and again. If you prefer more natural herbal flavors, your choices are a bit more limited, but you should still be able to find something you like.
The cartridges themselves are well-made, leak-proof, and easy to use. Just pop off the end cap, screw the cartridge into any 510 threaded battery, and you are on your way to a flavorful, THC-free vaping experience.
If you have previously tried low-potency CBD vape liquids and now want to go for something that provides a high-concentration mixture, these CBD cartridges from JustCBD could be the way to go.
The variety of flavors to choose from isn’t huge, but you can still find popular favorites like Pineapple Express and Northern Lights on the site, alongside a few other interesting blends. Each CBD cartridge contains 1000mg of Cannabinoids, which is made up of a mixture of CBD and natural terpenes. Compared to several other cartridges on this list, these cartridges will definitely provide a stronger CBD hit and might not be ideal for beginners.
You can use them with the uniquely-designed Compass vape pen, which allows the cartridges to be almost completely hidden inside for protection. But if you already have a battery with a 510 thread, they will fit that just as well. JustCBD also has disposables in the same flavors if you want to try them out before committing to buying the 1000mg cartridge.
- ~55% CBD content
- ~60% total cannabinoids
- Made with hemp derived CBD flower nectar and real cannabis derived terpenes
- Filled with 700mg/1200mg of CBD distillate
- 9 strains
- No artificial flavors, ingredients, or cutting agents

While Secret Nature doesn’t offer the same wide range of CBD cartridges as some other brands in this list, the ones they do offer are very popular, full of flavor, and highly regarded by users.
Available flavors include Lemon Diesel, Grape Ape, Forbidden Fruit, Gelato 33, and Orange Royal, which all combine a fresh fruit hit with natural plant terpenes. There are also more natural herbal flavors, such as Raw Nectar, Durban Poison and White Fire OG, if the fruity notes aren’t your thing.
Each cartridge contains full-spectrum CBD distillate derived from Sativa or Indica hemp strains. Go for the Sativa to be uplifted and Indica if you want a relaxing effect. If you want something in between, there are also flavors that include hybrid hemp strains.
The high-quality glass and metal cartridges are available in either 700 or 1200mg concentrations, depending on your intake needs. An efficient ceramic coil ensures a smooth draw and plenty of vapor, while the 510 thread connector makes it easy to pair it up with a battery.
The CBD vape cartridges from RAW Cannabinoid offer something a little bit different: Active CBD. That’s a proprietary blend of several hemp-derived cannabinoid compounds designed to give you a more rounded and intense CBD hit. It is also supposed to result in a subtle buzz, which could either put you off or make you want to try it even more.
The actual cartridge is pretty standard, with a 510 connector (protected by a silicone cap for when the cartridge isn’t in use), a glass tank containing 1ML of 800mg oil, and a flattened plastic mouthpiece. Depending on how heavily you draw, each cartridge should provide you with around 240 puffs, give or take.
There are several appealing flavors to try, ranging from popular favorites like Pineapple Express and Durban Poison to more unusual ones such as Strawberry Cough and Green Crack. Our top flavor pick has to be Mango Kush for the fruity tropical notes mixed with distinctive herbal kush and pine.

The SPRK Ceramic cartridge is made entirely out of ceramic, so your oil or concentrates never come into contact with metal or other materials. This means that you'll taste the pure flavor and vapor from whatever you vape, and nothing else. The dual ceramic coil delivers incredible flavor and efficiently wicks and vaporizes even the thickest oils. The SPRK Ceramic is leak free and can be refilled multiple times without a performance drop.
Choosing a ceramic cartridge for CBD vaping makes sense as it means that your CBD liquid doesn’t come into contact with metal surfaces. This helps prevent your CBD from oxidizing inside the cartridge, which can cause a loss of flavor and potency.
Aside from having an almost entirely ceramic body, the SPRK Ceramic Cartridge from PCKT also uses dual ceramic coils. In combination with the wide-bore airflow system, those dual coils allow you to enjoy smooth but dense vapor clouds with every draw.
Refilling is easy thanks to the completely removable top section that gives you direct access to the tank. You can pair the cartridge with one of the PCKT batteries or with any vape battery that uses the almost universal 510 thread connector.
These well-made and surprisingly strong glass and medical-grade steel cartridges are perfect if you use high-viscosity CBD liquids. It is almost entirely leak-proof if used correctly and, thanks to the brilliant ceramic coil, can last for between 5 and 15 refills before it will need replacing.
The Hermes 3 atomizer is available in two sizes: 1ML and 0.5ML. Both sizes use a 510 threaded connector to make it easy to match up with a battery. Filling is done from the top, with the whole drip tip removable. When the mouthpiece is in place, it feels very secure and unlikely to come loose.
There’s nothing ground-breaking about the Hermes cartridges, but they look great and do everything you need them to do reassuringly well.
If screwing in a 510-threaded cartridge is too much work, the SPRK Cartridge has you covered. Although there is a 510 version, what makes this different is the option of a magnetically connected cartridge. This has to be used with one of their own PCKT One Plus or PCKT Two batteries, but when you do, changing cartridges becomes just that little bit easier.
Other than the connector, the cartridge types are identical. They feature the brilliant SPRK dual ceramic core, which helps to ensure an even flow of vapor and huge clouds, even with high-viscosity liquids. The top section of the cartridge can be removed for filling or cleaning but feels secure when in place.
The SPRK cartridge doesn’t have a huge capacity, only allowing for between 0.5 and 0.8ML of liquid. But it is reliable, long-lasting, and pretty hard to beat for the price.
The CCELL TH2 was designed to work with CCELL’s 510 batteries like the Rizo, but thanks to the 510 threading, it also fits and works well with any 510 battery.
The CCELL TH2 Cartridge has a strong Borosilicate glass tank that holds up to 1ML of liquid. The reasonably high resistance 1.2ohm ceramic coil makes it perfect for highly viscous CBD oils and can produce decent clouds if that’s what you are chasing.
Like many modern CBD vape cartridges, refilling is done from the top by removing the black ceramic mouthpiece. This part of the cartridge is one area where some users might take issue, but only if you prefer a more cigarette-like circular mouthpiece.
If you are looking for a cartridge that makes it easy to adjust airflow, the CBDfx Cartridge could be the one. There’s nothing particularly amazing about the cartridge itself, although it is very well made, holds up to 1ML of liquid, and uses a high-quality ceramic coil. It also uses a standard 510 threaded connector.
What makes the CBDfx cartridge a bit different is the highly adjustable airflow. Located just under the drip tip are four holes under a rotating cuff. You can use this cuff to close or open as many holes as you want, reducing or increasing airflow as much as you desire. It’s only a little thing, but it helps push this cartridge over the edge of very good and firmly into the “great” category.
What are pre-filled CBD cartridges?
A pre-filled CBD vape cartridge comprises a mouthpiece (or drip tip), a sealed tank full of CBD-infused oil, a pre-fitted vaporizer coil, and usually a threaded connector. They are designed to be a quick and easy way to vape your CBD without the hassle of refilling, changing burnt coils, and dealing with spills and leaks.
Many pre-filled CBD cartridges use 510 connectors common to regular vape mods, pens, and batteries. So if you already vape non-CBD juices, you might not need to buy a new battery unit to use CBD cartridges. In some cases, the pre-filled CBD cartridge will be designed to only fit a specific pen-style battery, which will need to be bought separately.
What are refillable CBD cartridges?
Refillable CBD cartridges are similar to a standard vape tank. The main difference is that they usually have a non-replaceable coil. Instead, most refillable CBD cartridges use a long-lasting ceramic coil which is much better for vaporizing the often thicker liquid.
Because they are designed to be refilled, this type of CBD cartridge will feature some mechanism to make that process easier. Often, the mouthpiece can be removed to allow access to the tank. The lifespan of a refillable cartridge can vary considerably between brands, but you can expect to get around 10 – 15 refills out of it before it needs to be replaced.
Just like pre-filled cartridges, refillable ones usually have a 510 connector. This makes it easy to find a battery mod to use as the power source.
How to Fill an Empty CBD Oil Cartridge
The exact method of filling a CBD cartridge will vary between models. The most common way to refill a cartridge is to remove the mouthpiece by pulling it upwards, away from the tank. You can then squirt the CBD vape juice directly into the chamber or use a pipette or syringe if the bottle has a wide nozzle.
How to Use a CBD Oil Cartridge
First, remove any protective caps or bungs from the connector of the cartridge. The cartridge will then need to be connected to a compatible battery.
In some cases, the cartridge will use a push, clip, or magnetic fitting, which will need to be used with a battery that matches that fitting. Most CBD vape cartridges will have a 510 thread fitting, which should be screwed, firmly but not aggressively, into a compatible battery mod.
If your vape battery mod has variable power settings, ensure these are set to within the recommended range for the cartridge. Check the cartridge manufacturer’s instructions if unsure.
Remove the cover from the cartridge mouthpiece, place it to your lips, press the power button on the battery, and you’re up and running.

Is CBD Legal?
CBD is federally legal in the United States as long as it is derived from hemp containing no more than 0.3% THC (when dried). Individual states can prohibit or restrict its use, but most currently allow it. The laws surrounding CBD use are still quite fluid, so it is worth double-checking the law where you live.
The legality of CBD use varies around the world. Many countries allow CBD products to be sold and used but have different laws concerning THC levels or permitted products. In Europe, for example, CBD oils and other products are legal but must be from hemp with THC levels of no more than 0.2%. In some Asian countries, CBD is classed as a regulated drug making its use illegal.
Always check where your CBD products are manufactured, especially when ordering online, to ensure they adhere to local laws. And be wary of taking CBD products to another country if you are not sure it is legal to do so.
What to look for when buying CBD Cartridges
The recommendations above are a great place to start when you are looking to buy a CBD cartridge. But if you want to explore other options, it’s useful to know what features to look for before you start.
Not every CBD cartridge is created equal. Always check the ingredients used in any CBD cartridge you plan to buy, and make sure you are happy to be putting them in your body. The best CBD cartridges should contain cannabinoids, terpenes, natural flavoring, and very little else.
The strength or potency of the CBD in a pre-filled cartridge can vary quite a lot. The potency of CBD is shown by the milligram weight. But it isn’t always as simple as assuming higher mg = higher potency. You also want to consider how many milliliters the cartridge contains.
So, for example, a cartridge that is 0.5ml in volume and contains 600mg of CBD is more potent than a 1ml cartridge with 900mg of CBD. Most websites that sell CBD vape cartridges will display this as mg/ml, and some even approximate the mg/puff ratio.
Whether you are buying pre-filled or refillable CBD vape cartridges, you should ensure they use a ceramic coil. Ceramic coils are not always suitable for normal vaping, but they work well for CBD vape oil. A ceramic vape coil is generally better at pulling through high-viscosity oils, such as CBD oil, and heating it with less chance of burning.
Type of CBD
It’s important to know the type of CBD the cartridge contains. The three most common types of CBD are Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, or CBD Isolate. Full Spectrum CBD usually contains the most hemp plant compounds, including THC. Broad Spectrum is similar but has had the last traces of THC removed. CBD Isolate contains only CBD and none of the other compounds derived from hemp.
Does CBD get you high?
CBD can produce side effects, such as feeling tired or relaxed, but it is extremely unlikely to get you high. Full-spectrum CBD oil, which usually contains several hemp plant compounds, could cause a very mild feeling of intoxication. But even that would be rare for most people.
Technically, both hemp and marijuana are cannabis plants, and both contain very similar chemical compounds. The difference is the varying levels of these compounds found in each variety of plant.
The compound that produces the psychoactive effects of cannabis is THC. In marijuana, the level of THC can be anywhere from 5% to more than 20%. The hemp from which CBD is derived will contain some THC, but it must be below 0.3% for it to be legal in the United States.
