Fifty Bar Disposables Review: Built in the USA

Fifty Bar is a disposable vaping brand that currently only offers one product, their Fifty Bar disposable vape. Compared to other disposable brands, Fifty Bar is relatively new onto the scene, but their disposables have a few notable qualities that set them apart from the competition right away.

While the majority of disposable vapes are manufactured in China, as well as filled with ejuice made in China, Fifty Bar’s disposables are built in the USA and filled with American made e-liquid. Not just any e-liquid either—Fifty Bar’s offerings are filled with ejuice made by Beard Vape Co., a behemoth in the ejuice industry.

Each Fifty Bar comes filled with 16ml of ejuice for up to 6500 puffs per device. They also have a 400mAh built-in battery which recharges with Type-C charging. There is currently only one nicotine strength available, which is 50mg/ml (5%). There are 15 flavors available, with nine more flavors due to launch by the end of this year.

Are these American-made disposables worth purchasing over their more popular and common Chinese counterparts? I reviewed them to find out.

Design & Build Quality

These disposables manage to look different from the thousands of other disposables that are out there, and that’s no small feat. They have a distinct, two-tone design that features a soft touch finish. They’re also very small considering that there is 16ml of ejuice and a rechargeable battery inside.

I measured these out and they’re 84mm tall, 43mm wide, and 19mm thick. That’s very small for a 6500 puff count disposable. The sides and corners of these are also nicely rounded so they feel even smaller than they actually are.

The small size makes it possible for me to completely hide one in my palm while vaping, which is great for a bit of stealth vaping. They’re also really comfortable to hold. Furthermore, because they’re so small it’s easy to walk around with two or three of these in your pocket; great for anyone who likes to switch up flavors throughout their day.

The two-tone design is neat. The mouthpiece and bottom half of the Fifty Bar is one color, while the top half is another. There’s an oval shaped badge in the middle of the Fifty Bar which simply says “FIFTY BAR”. On one side of the device you’ll find the printed flavor and on the other there’s an American flag and the proclamation “BUILT IN THE USA”.

While I wouldn’t suggest doing this, I discovered that you can separate the top and bottom halves of the shell. This allowed me to open up the device and get a peak at the quality of the components inside. There’s a large cotton block that holds the ejuice and a large center post that holds the coil. Under the cotton block is a large, thick silicone gasket and under that is the battery.

The components on the inside appear to be high-quality and I spotted no manufacturing defects whatsoever. There’s also a lot of ejuice being held by that cotton block and no ejuice was floating around. That’s a good sign for leak-resistance and since I have not experienced any leaking, it seems to be a sound design.

Coming back to the outside of the device, the mouthpiece is small and mostly flat but nice and comfy. The mouthpiece does not feature the same soft-touch material as the rest of the device and instead is plain plastic.

On the opposite end of the Fifty Bar, the bottom, there’s a Type-C charging port, an airflow hole, and a white LED that lights up when the device is activated.

Features

The main (and perhaps most notable) feature and selling point of the Fifty Bar is that they are built in the USA and filled with American made e-liquid. This should give health-conscious vapers some peace of mind that these disposables are built to American standards and use ejuice that is made with high-quality ingredients.

For even more peace of mind, they’re not just filled with any old ejuice. The ejuice in these is made by Beard Vape Co., an ejuice brand that has been around for years. Their ejuices are some of the most popular around and are known for their excellent flavor profiles and accurate recreations of dessert flavors.

The specs of the Fifty Bar are not bad either. Considering their small size, each one comes filled with 16ml of ejuice and houses a 400mAh battery. The battery capacity is smaller than average for a high-puff count disposable, but since these are rechargeable with Type-C charging, it won’t affect the overall amount of puffs that you can achieve from each device. What it does mean though, is that you’ll be charging more frequently compared to a disposable with a larger battery.

Presently, there’s only one nicotine strength available which is 50mg/ml (5%). That’s good news if you’re a high-nicotine-strength vaper, but unfortunate if you are not. I would like to see more nicotine strengths offered in the future, specifically a 35mg/ml and a 20mg/ml strength would be great to see as it would allow these to be used by more vapers.

Aside from these specifications, the Fifty Bar isn’t hiding any additional features to be aware of. You can vape on these by removing the packaging and stickers and inhaling on the mouthpiece. Simple.

Flavors

As of the time of writing this review there are fifteen flavors available for the Fifty Bar. There are also nine additional flavors that are due to be released by the end of the year. Since the ejuice used in these is made by Beard Vape Co., it’s not surprising that there are plenty of dessert flavors available. There are also fruit flavors, menthol/mint flavors, and most surprisingly, tobacco flavors.

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Blueberry Cereal Donut Milk

The name of this flavor has a lot going on so before I tried it, I wasn’t sure that I would like it. But boy, was I wrong. This quickly became one of my favorite flavors to vape on. The fruity notes of blueberry and milky cereal hit first, followed by a sweet dessert donut flavor. It’s a very well-created mix. All of the flavors go together hand-in-hand and compliment each other to create a whole cohesive flavor; so good.

Cinnamon Funnel Cake

Cinnamon flavors walk a thin line between being too sickeningly powerful and being too dull but this one hits the sweet spot. The cinnamon flavor is accurate and tastes like real cinnamon, while the funnel cake flavor seals out the flavor for a great recreation of a carnival favorite. 

Tobaccocino

What goes better together than a coffee and a smoke in the morning? Not many experiences compare but this flavor mimics that feeling to a tee. This is a mixed flavor rather than two separate ones. I can taste the tobacco and cappuccino flavors at the same time all throughout the inhale and exhale. The cappuccino flavor is a little stronger than the tobacco, so this is more of a dessert flavor than a tobacco one, but the tobacco flavor is still strong and distinguishable. 

Juicy Mango Melon Ice

This flavor delivers a strong, sweet, and juicy mango flavor from the beginning of the exhale, which is complemented by subtle melon notes shortly after. There’s a bit of ice but not enough that I would hesitate to recommend this to non-ice vapers. This is a great tropical flavor that can be vaped on all day and still have you coming back for more.

Aloe Grapple Watermelon

This is a flavor that has a lot going on but it still tastes great. Sometimes, a flavor that has too many elements can taste muddled or dull but I like how this one vapes. The aloe flavor isn’t immediately distinguishable but I taste apple, grape, and watermelon immediately and all throughout the exhale. Watermelon is the stronger, followed by grape, then apple, and finally aloe. It has a bit of a candy flavor but is still overwhelmingly a natural tasting vape.

How do they vape?

Now we come to the most important section of them all. So just how do these American made, Beard Vape Co. ejuice disposables vape?

The mouth to lung draw is excellent. It’s a tight draw for sure but still easy enough to activate and vape with. I don’t have to exert too much effort to get these to activate and there’s the right amount of resistance to mimic smoking. It’s a satisfying amount of airflow that gets me enough vapor without being too powerful, even with the 50mg/ml strength.

Vaping satisfaction per draw is also just right. The 5% ejuice inside of these packs a punch but you can safely take a few draws in a row without feeling like you’re taking in too much nicotine. I wouldn’t recommend these if you aren’t already vaping on 50mg/ml but for anyone who is used to it, these will feel just right.

I’m able to vape somewhere around 200-300 puffs per charge. That’s quite a bit of vaping but still a little shorter battery life than some vapers may want. The 400mAh battery will be good to get you through a day but you’ll want to charge each night. Charging only takes 45 minutes with a wall charger and cable.

Verdict

Fifty Bar’s disposables are a breath of fresh air in a market saturated with foreign-built disposables. The fact that these are built in the USA is not immediately discernible from the design or build quality alone though. More specifically, these aren’t leaps and bounds better designed or better built than any other good disposable. However, that’s not the whole story.

Since disposables are something that we use to inhale vapor that goes into our bodies, I definitely feel better about using these over another random brand that uses materials and ejuices of questionable or unknown origins. 

With the Fifty Bar, you know that the materials used to manufacture them are to American standards and follow American regulations. Additionally, these are filled with ejuice made by Beard in the USA, so you know that the vapor you’re inhaling is coming from ejuices made with high-quality ingredients.

Since Beard Vape Co. makes the ejuice, it should come as no surprise that the flavors are all super delicious, especially the dessert options. The fruit flavors are also really good though. I can’t wait to try the additional flavors that they are planning on releasing at the end of the year.
