CBD has become increasingly popular as an all-natural remedy that some people swear by. Many of those who take CBD claim a reduction in their stress levels, anxiety, inflammation or pain, and more.
Hemplitude are based out of the United States. They offer a multitude of CBD products ranging from oils and flower, to honey, fruit, and gummies.
Today, I have my hands on two of their gummy products: their ‘Sour Popperz’ gummies and their ‘Watermelon Slices’ gummies. The Sour Popperz contain 10mg of full spectrum CBD per gummy (150mg of CBD per package), while their Watermelon Slices come in 4 different strengths: 250mg, 500mg, 750mg, or 1000mg of CBD per container. I have the 250mg container on hand for this review.
These gummies are supposed to provide all of the benefits of CBD but in a tasty and edible format. In this review I’m going to find out how well they work.
About Hemplitude
Hemplitude are a U.S. company, based out of Tampa, Florida. The name ‘Hemplitude ‘is a sort of portmanteau of “Hemp with an Attitude”; I actually quite like it. But what I like even more than their name is their transparency.
Hemplitude have their lab test results easily available on their website for all of their products. This allows you to see exactly how much CBD, as well as other cannabinoids, are in each product. For me, lab test results are a must when purchasing CBD products because otherwise you just have to take their word that their products are what they say they are.
Hemplitude uses Full Spectrum Hemp extract enriched with terpenes in all of their products. This hemp extract is sourced from hemp grown in Colorado and Oregon. Their products are then handcrafted in their CGMP compliant (pharmaceutical grade) lab in Tampa, Florida.
Because they use full spectrum hemp extract, this incorporates the entire hemp plant and all of its 100+ cannabinoids, terpenes, and omegas. So not only do you get the benefits of CBD, but Hemplitude also claims that you get the benefits of the other cannabinoids and terpenes (depending on the product that you choose).
To clarify, this full spectrum of cannabinoids does not include THC so you will not get high. Hemplitude follows all federal guidelines and follows practices set by the U.S Hemp Authority. Their products do not exceed 0.3% THC content.
Hemplitude CBD Gummies
The majority of CBD companies only carry one or two flavors/types of CBD gummies; Hemplitude have 5. They have ‘Sour Popperz’ which contain 5 flavors per pack, Watermelon Slices, Green Apple Rings, Blue Raspberry Rings, and Peach Rings.
I was sent a package of their Sour Popperz and a jar of their Watermelon Slices 250mg for this review.
Sour Popperz
Sour Popperz come in a small bag that contains 10 gummies. Each package contains 150mg of full spectrum hemp — 15mg per gummy. The package states to take 1-2 gummies daily or as needed based on the desired amount of hemp.
The gummies are small and round with a smiley face imprinted on each one. Each bag comes with five flavors: blue raspberry, cherry, green apple, lemon, and orange.
All of the Sour Popperz flavors are very tasty; they’re each slightly tangy and sour but mostly sweet and sugary. I don’t taste the CBD or hemp at all with these gummies so if you dislike the taste of CBD, these gummies are perfect.
The texture is nice and just like you would expect from a soft gummy. Sour Popperz are chewy but break up nicely and don’t stick to your teeth. I’m a big fan of how these taste and go down.
Looking at the lab test results for Sour Popperz (p.14), CBD is the only cannabinoid listed. All other cannabinoids are listed as “Not Detected” — I would expect to see at least some quantifiable levels of other cannabinoids in a full spectrum blend. So while this is listed as a “Full Spectrum Blend”, other cannabinoids are in such trace amounts that they weren’t detected in testing. Each gummy contains .3% or less THC.
Watermelon Slices 250mg
Watermelon Slices are one of their four types of “traditional” gummies. These are just like classic gummy candies that you would buy at the corner store, only these contain CBD. The other gummies are Green Apple Rings, Blue Raspberry Rings, and Peach Rings.
The gummies come in a jar and each jar contains a varying amount of gummies depending on the CBD strength that you choose. My 250mg jar contained 14 gummies, but you can also get jars with 500mg, 750mg, or 1000mg of CBD.
The CBD strength is per jar, not per gummy. This means that for my 250mg jar with 14 gummies, each gummy contains around 17.5mg of CBD. The jars with higher CBD content also contain more gummies so the number is likely to remain around the same at 17.5mg of CBD per gummy, regardless of the jar strength that you choose.
Although only slightly stronger than the Sour Popperz (17.5mg per gummy vs 15mg per gummy), the CBD taste is much more present in these Watermelon Slices. I can taste the earthy CBD taste, which I don’t mind at all. Aside from a bit of earthy CBD taste, these are sweet and taste like a traditional watermelon gummy. The Watermelon Slices are a bit firmer than the Sour Popperz but they’re still very chewy.
Looking at the lab results for Watermelon Slices 250mg (p.16), CBD is again the only cannabinoid listed. All other cannabinoids are listed as “Not Detected” — I would expect to see at least some quantifiable levels of other cannabinoids in a full spectrum blend. So while this is listed as a “Full Spectrum Blend”, other cannabinoids are in such trace amounts that they weren’t detected in testing. Each gummy contains .3% or less THC.
How to Use Hemplitude CBD Gummies
A big reason why I love CBD gummies is because of how easy it is to dose your CBD. Whenever you feel like you need a dose, just open the package or jar of gummies and take one. The recommended dose is 1-2 gummies daily, but you can take more if you feel like you need it.
Remember, CBD is not going to get you high or cloud your mind so there’s no need to worry about taking too much. Still, it’s a good idea to start small and work your way to getting the effects that you desire.
After taking a gummy, wait 1-2 hours before taking another one. This is because gummies can take up to 2 hours for their effects to kick in so be patient.
Effectiveness
I have been taking Hemplitude’s CBD gummies for a few weeks and I have to say that the effects have been recognizable.
I’ve taken these gummies for anything from stress and anxiety, to pain and sleeplessness. In all cases, I noticed an apparent difference in how I felt. Most of the time I would take just 1 gummy and that would be enough, especially for sleeplessness, stress and anxiety. However, for pain I would sometimes have to take another gummy to really feel the effects.
Verdict
I’m impressed by Hemplitude’s CBD gummies. They taste great, deliver a good dosage of CBD per gummy, and they’re effective, too. The only downside to these gummies is that there aren’t many of the other cannabinoids present so if you’re after a full spectrum CBD gummy with loads of other cannabinoids, this isn’t the one. But if you’re after the benefits of CBD specifically, Hemplitude’s gummies are a great and tasty way to get it.
