TribeTokes Delta 8 Vape Pens & Delta 8 Vape Cartridges Review

TribeTokes is a premium CBD & Delta 8 brand. They carry a full line of CBD products so you can use their CBD the way that you want. They have CBD creams, CBD gummies, CBD vapes, and more. 

In addition to their CBD products, TribeTokes also offers a host of Delta 8 products. On their website you’ll find Delta 8 creams, gummies, and last but not least, D8 vape pens and cartridges. Like their CBD vapes, TribeTokes D8 vapes are naturally flavored by terpenes. Their cartridges are available in 9 different strains, while their D8 vape pens are available in 3 strains.

One of their slogans is “All of the good sh*t, none of the bullsh*t” and they practice what they preach. There are only 2 ingredients in their delta 8 vapes: full spectrum, hemp-derived delta 8 distillate and plant-based terpenes.

These D8 vapes and cartridges were sent to me by TribeTokes for the purpose of this review. This does not affect my thoughts or ratings in this review.

What is Delta 8?

For those of you who may be unfamiliar, I’ll give a quick rundown of delta 8 for you. Delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol (delta 8 THC) is a close cousin of delta 9 THC, the cannabinoid in marijuana that gets you high. Where delta 9 THC is usually extracted from marijuana plants, delta 8 is extracted from hemp plants. 

Both delta 8 and delta 9 bind to the same cannabinoid receptors in the brain and both will produce psychoactive effects resulting in a high. However, delta 8 is said to produce effects that are less intense. A high from delta 8 is more subtle, smooth, and calming than delta 9 and less likely to result in anxiety. 

Who are TribeTokes

TribeTokes started out as a CBD company with the intention of bringing high-quality products to a market that was inundated by low-quality CBD. Their primary slogan is “Built By Girls, Powered By Plants”. The company was founded by two women with the aim of creating a community of customers, advocates, and CBD enthusiasts. 

After establishing their line of CBD products, TribeTokes started offering delta 8 products. These now include D8 creams, gummies, vape pens, and vape cartridges. Two important factors that are consistent across all of their products are their readily available lab test results and their commitment to using only natural, high-quality ingredients. Their vapes contain no MCT, PG, VG or Vitamin E Acetate.

Their packaging and brand presentation are just as high-quality too. You can tell that TribeTokes takes time and care on the small details of their products and that’s awesome to see. Girl power!

TribeTokes Delta 8 Vape Cartridges

TribeTokes delta 8 vape cartridges come in 9 different strains, each of which are naturally flavored by terpenes. Each strain has its own unique terpene profile so there’s a unique taste from each one. They have hybrid, indica, and sativa strains so there’s a strain that will suit your needs. Whether you want to chill out or go for a boost of creativity, there’s a strain for that.

Each D8 cartridge comes prefilled with a full gram of hemp-derived, full-spectrum delta 8 distillate, as well as CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBG so you get the full “entourage” effect of other cannabinoids. The three cartridges that I received each contain approximately 73% delta 8, 5.5% CBD, 0.25% D9 THC, and 3% other cannabinoids for around 82% total cannabinoid content per cartridge. Their vapes contain no MCT, PG, VG or Vitamin E Acetate.

These cartridges use a 510 thread so they can fit on any mod with a 510 connector. However, I suggest using a low-powered device that is meant to be used with carts so that you don’t accidentally run too much power through them. TribeTokes sent me a few of their cartridge devices for this review and they’re honestly all really great. 

Their “Tribe MINI” is a super small device for carts. It has a soft-touch coating that feels great and the small size makes it perfect for throwing in a pocket or purse. It has a preheat function that gives instant, easy tokes on the first draw. It’s a small but powerful little cart device.

The “Saber” is a large device but the cartridge folds into the side of the device for secure storage. I love how the cartridge is protected when it’s folded into the mod and it also shelters the mouthpiece which is awesome. The Saber is super light but feels very solid, and the rubberized grip is also a nice touch. This device also features a clear and easy to read screen. The voltage is adjustable from 2.6 to 4.8V. 

Last but not least, the “Wand” is a stick battery that is long and thin, perfect for at home use. I found the other two to be much more suited to taking my carts out of the house as they were much more easily concealable.  The Wand features preheat functionality, as well as a voltage adjustment dial located on the bottom of the pen (labeled from low to high).

TribeTokes Delta 8 Disposable Vape Pens

TribeTokes Delta 8 disposable vapes are filled with the same great full-spectrum delta 8 distillate as their cartridges, but the disposable form factor provides more convenience. You don’t need a separate device or battery to vape them and they come ready to go out of the packaging. Just inhale on the vape pen and you’re on your way to the sky.

Their D8 disposable vapes are currently available in 3 different strains: Birthday Cake (hybrid), Northern Lights (indica), and NYC Diesel (sativa). They look just like TribeTokes CBD disposables but are differentiated by a “D8” on the bottom of the vape just before the flavor.

Compared to their cartridges, their D8 vape pens have slightly higher potency. Each one contains approximately 80% D8, 5-8% CBD, 0.27% THC, and 1-2.5% other cannabinoids for a total of around 90% cannabinoid content. Like their cartridges, their disposable vapes contain no MCT, PG, VG or Vitamin E Acetate.

These are even more portable than their cartridges and easily taken out of the house in a pocket or bag. You can take a few tokes and palm these without anyone being the wiser. This makes them a great discreet option for when you’re out and about.

The build quality is top notch and they really feel solid and well put together. The body features a rubberized coating that adds grip and further adds to the high-quality feel of these disposables. The bottom of these has an LED that lights up when you take a draw. These are not rechargeable and can be safely disposed of when they are finished. Each one should last approximately a year from their first use.

Strains & Flavor

For this review I was sent 6 strains in total; 3 D8 cartridges and 3 D8 disposables. I will be going over the cannabinoid composition of each strain, as well as the flavors and how each strain made me feel. The strains I will be going over are Maui Wowie, Blue Dream, Zkittlez, NYC Diesel, Birthday Cake Kush, and Northern Lights.

Maui Wowie (Sativa)

This is a sativa cartridge with 73.61% D8, 5.4% CBD, 0.24% THC, and 3.01% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 82.26%. I taste a coconut flavor in this strain that is really pleasant to vape on and makes it my favorite flavor out of the cartridges. It’s sweet and not bitter at all. 3-4 draws gives me a perfect head high that is a little intense but enjoyable overall.

Blue Dream (Hybrid)

This hybrid strain has 72.93% D8, 5.5% CBD, 0.23% THC, and 3.0% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 81.66%. It’s a very smooth vape with floral notes that are sweet, but not too sweet. There’s some bitterness on the end notes but it rounds out the entire flavor nicely. I get a good body buzz and a slight head high. This strain leaves me feeling light and calm. I liked vaping on this when I was winding down but not quite going to sleep yet.

Zkittlez (Indica)

Zkittlez is an indica strain with 73.2% D8, 5.3% CBD, 0.27% THC, and 2.92% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 81.69%. This strain has an enjoyable pine flavor and a strong throat hit. It gives me more of a subtle head high but a strong body buzz which makes it great for relaxing and chilling out.

NYC Diesel (Sativa)

NYC Diesel is a sativa strain that has 77.41% D8, 8.19% CBD, 0.28% THC, and 1.06% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 86.94%. It’s similar to zkittlez in that there are pine notes but there are more earthy notes here that give it a unique flavor profile. Being a sativa, I vaped this strain when I needed to get stuff done. 

Birthday Cake Kush (Hybrid)

Birthday Cake Kush is a hybrid strain with 79.88% D8, 8.24% CBD, 0.27% THC, and 1.07% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 89.46%. This strain had the highest cannabinoid content out of all the strains that I was sent. It’s also one of the highest in D8 and CBD content. That being said, it produces noticeable effects and delivers a really nice, chill high. This strain has a sweet taste that is much sweeter than the other strains so it’s very tasty. The vapor is also smooth and enjoyable to vape.

Northern Lights (Indica)

Northern Lights is an indica strain with 79.89% D8, 5.6% CBD, 0.27% THC, and 2.4% other cannabinoids for a total cannabinoid content of 88.16%. Being an indica, I felt more relaxed and winded down more quickly after vaping this strain. It’s a great “before bed” strain. There are nice earthy tones mixed with sweet notes in a perfect combination.

Verdict

After using TribeTokes delta 8 vapes for a few weeks now, I have nothing but positive things to say. The fact that they are completely transparent with their ingredients, manufacturing process, and lab test results is super reassuring and really sets them apart from their competition in the CBD/D8 space. I want to know what I’m putting in my body and with these D8 vapes I had all the answers I needed. 

I like that the only ingredients are D8 distillate and terpenes; no flavorings, other chemicals, or additives. Not only is this better for you healthwise, but you also get more bang for your buck because the entire cartridge/disposable is filled with distillate rather than fillers. 

The effects that I got from these D8 pens was exactly what I was looking for; nothing too intense but enough to feel. I never overdid it vaping on these but if you wanted more intense effects then I’m sure that a few more puffs would do the trick nicely. 

I’m going to continue using TribeTokes D8 vapes for the foreseeable future and I highly recommend giving them a try.
