Vecee VTEC PRO Prefilled Pod Starter Kit Review

Vecee is a disposable vaping brand who is making a big mark in 2023. So far, they have released a total of seven new products just this year, including the Vecee Maze and the Vecee Ello disposable.

After reviewing the Vecee Maze pod starter kit earlier this year and being impressed with the build quality and performance, I was excited to get my hands on the VTEC PRO.

The VTEC PRO is a pod starter kit that is available in 13 different flavors, each of which has it’s own corresponding color.

Each pod is prefilled with 16ml of ejuice and will get you around 9500 puffs before needing to be replaced. The best thing about this type of device is that you do not need to trash your entire kit. You just buy a replacement pod, while keeping the device itself. When compared to disposable vapes, this is a better way to save money — and the environment.

The VTEC PRO comes with a rechargeable 650mAh battery which should get you a full day of vaping regardless of how often you vape. You can quickly recharge the device using the Type C charging port.

The most interesting thing about the VTEC PRO is the design, which mimics that of the Honda engine which it is named after.

Design & Build Quality

The design of the VTEC PRO is something that you may have seen before. It is designed to look just like the Honda engine of the same name. Truthfully, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a car expert by any means but as soon as I saw the device, I knew I recognized it. A few years ago, we reviewed a device called the Augvape VTEC V200 mod that used a similar design.

The VTEC PRO is a little large, measuring at 112mm tall, 46mm wide and 25mm tall with the pod installed. It’s a little on the heavier side also, weighing 100g. 

The VTEC PRO’s exterior is made entirely of plastic. The device is available in a wide range of colors that each correspond to a matching flavor. 

For example, if you purchase the red colored version you will receive the corresponding Strawberry Watermelon pod. However, there is nothing stopping you from using any refill with any color of starter kit as they are completely interchangeable.

The VTEC PRO has a VTEC PRO logo on the front, along with the word NOVATECH. This is the only branding on the device and all of the design aspects of this device have been made with the Honda engine in mind, including using similar fonts. 

VECEE has opted to use “carbon fiber” stickers for the front and back of the device and I was surprised at how well these held up during use. I was a little worried they wouldn’t be able to handle the abuse, but to my surprise they did. The device also did not scratch or scuff at all while I was using it. 

Located on the bottom of the device there is the Type C charging port and the adjustable airflow dial. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t use the silver dial that is located on the front of the device for the airflow, as I think that would have been interesting. I’m sure there is a reason they didn’t, but it would have been cool. 

Thanks to the design there are lots of grooves on either side of the device. This adds a little extra grip to a pretty slippery device.

The VTEC PRO uses prefilled pods that can be easily inserted or removed. They use magnets to connect to the device and stay in place with little movement. The device uses haptic feedback to let you know your pod is seated properly and will vibrate when in place.

The mouthpiece is built into the pod and it’s a strange yet comfortable rubber mouthpiece. I’ve never seen a mouthpiece like this on a vape before and honestly, it looks a little odd. It takes some getting used to as well because at first you feel like you’re wrapping your lips around a straw to vape. Overall it’s very comfortable to use, though.

Features

Much like the Vecee Maze, the VTEC PRO is a closed pod system that is essentially a hybrid between a disposable vape and a pod vape.

The pods for the VTEC PRO come prefilled with 16ml of ejuice. These are non-refillable and disposable once they are finished. The pods are quite large but that makes sense with how much ejuice they contain.

The VTEC PRO comes with a 650mAh battery that is rechargeable. You will get between one or two days on a full charge. When the battery dies, you can quickly recharge with the Type C charging port located on the bottom of the device. 

Unfortunately, the VTEC PRO does not support pass-thru charging so you cannot use the device while it is charging. I would suggest charging overnight so you don’t have to go without. 

When you take a draw, insert your pod, or charge your device, the LED indicator will light up blue. The light is not too bright and is easy to conceal. This LED light is located just above the charging port on the bottom of the device.

Also located on the bottom of the device is the adjustable airflow dial which features a small rectangular shaped slot. By turning the dial, you can open up or close down the airflow.

There is a significant difference in the draw when you adjust the dial, giving you a tighter draw when the hole is really small, to a looser draw when the airflow is completely open. You can adjust the dial to your preferred setting. Closing off the airflow completely makes it impossible to take a draw. 

While on the topic of the draw, the VTEC PRO is a draw-activated-only device and there are no buttons on the device at all. 

One of my favorite things about closed pod systems like this is that you don’t have to refill them and you can toss them in your regular trash bin. There is no need to recycle them in an electronics bin like with disposable vapes, as you aren’t  throwing away the battery every time your ejuice runs out. 

The VTEC PRO is truly one of the most simple devices to use. You simply remove it from the packaging and take a draw. Charging is simple and the airflow adjustment is equally easy to use as well. This makes the VTEC PRO Perfect for beginners, or for people who want to vape without fuss.

The prefilled pods for the VTEC PRO are available in fourteen flavors (their website lists thirteen but I received one that was not listed). These flavors are:

There is a wide range of flavors categories for only having 13 options. There are plenty of fruit options, but there is also a cappuccino flavor, a cigar flavor and even a yogurt flavor. When you purchase a VTEC PRO starter kit you will receive one pod with each device. 

At the time of writing this article I have yet to see these devices sold in any online stores, so I am not sure how replacements will be sold. Whether they will be sold individually or in packs of 5 or greater is something to be seen.

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Peach Berry

This flavor is excellent. A little on the sweeter side but that sweet peach flavor is mouthwatering. I can’t pinpoint what berry is mixed with the peach (or if it’s a mix of berries) but it is very good. If you like peach vapes then I strongly suggest trying out this flavor.

Mango Salak

Mango Salak has an interesting flavor. You can taste the mango but I am also getting hints of pineapple flavors. The flavor is very sweet and tangy. It also lingers a long time and rests on the tongue long after you exhale. 

Yakult

The Yakult flavor is a completely unique flavor to the previous two. This flavor is based on the Japanese yogurt drink of the same name. It is very creamy and sweet. I personally do not normally like any cream flavored vapes but this one was different and I can say that I am a fan. 

Strawberry Grape

This Strawberry Grape flavor is another one of my favorites of the five that I got to try. The grape definitely takes front stage here with the strawberry being almost unnoticeable. Think Welch’s grape juice, yum! Even with the lack of the strawberry flavor, I really enjoyed this one.

Strawberry Watermelon

This Strawberry Watermelon mix is so refreshing. The flavor is very dense and lingers long after you exhale. Again, the theme of these flavors seems to be sweet and that is also the case with this one. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. 

How do they vape?

The 3% nicotine content really made this vape stand out for me. There are very few brands on the market that offer this nicotine level. Most will offer either 2% which can be a little low for those wishing to quit smoking, or 5% nicotine which can be a little high for those who have not been vaping for some time. I find that this vape gives me something in the middle of those two for satisfaction and that’s nice to have.

The draw of the VTEC PRO is very smooth and the flavor is dense and powerful. I found this lineup to be a little on the sweeter side, but it’s great nonetheless. Additionally, thanks to the mesh coil, the flavor was always bold and powerful and I had no signs of burning or dry hits. 

The effectiveness of the airflow adjustment was also very surprising to me. Some disposables come with airflow adjustment just for the sake of saying that they have it, with the adjustment having little effect on the overall draw. This is not the case with the VTEC PRO. 

If the airflow adjustment is fully open you will get a really loose draw that is great for loose MTL vapers. For those who like a tighter draw, adjusting the dial so that the airflow is almost fully closed will get you the tight MTL draw that you’re looking for. You can also adjust the dial to anywhere in between, allowing you to precisely adjust your draw to your liking.

Verdict

The VTEC PRO is a great device for those looking for an easy to use device that doesn’t require any upkeep. You can simply use the pod and when it is finished, you can toss it in your household trash. Compared to disposable vapes, the ability to reuse this device and not have to throw away another battery is a better way to save money and the environment.

The flavor, draw ,and airflow adjustment make this device really good. The battery life is really good and I was able to get more than a day of vaping on a full charge. However, just to keep myself safe, I did charge it overnight.

I think the only thing I personally did not love about this device was the overall design. I am not a huge car fan so a device that is designed completely to look like an engine is not something that caters to me at all. However the flavor and draw keeps me reaching for them and those are the qualities that are truly important in a vape. 

Whether or not you are a fan of the design of the VTEC PRO, I strongly believe that the flavor and draw make it worth a try.
