The bottom line
The ARGUS G3 Mini is a prime example of what a good ‘Mini’ product looks like. Compared to the ARGUS G2 Mini, the G3 Mini is significantly smaller and lighter, which is what I’m looking for if I’m picking a ‘Mini’ device over its full-featured sibling.
I’m somewhat disappointed that the G3 Mini doesn’t have adjustable airflow. It wouldn’t have increased the size much, if at all, to include an adjustable airflow slider for fine-tuning the draw, so it’s puzzling why VOOPOO did away with it. However, it makes the G3 Mini incredibly easy to use as there are no settings to adjust whatsoever.
The performance with the Top Fill V2 Cartridges is just as good as the Argus G3, and the G3 Mini delivers incredibly good flavor, long pod life, and a leak-free experience.
Vapers who want to adjust the wattage and airflow on their pod device will want to look at the Argus G3 or other more fully-featured pod devices. But if you just want a highly portable and simple pod device that still delivers excellent flavor, the G3 Mini makes the cut.

Product Overview
Hot on the heels of the ARGUS G3, VOOPOO has just released the next pod vape in their G Mini series–the ARGUS G3 Mini. Its predecessor, the ARGUS G2 Mini, was released in 2024 as a smaller and simpler alternative to the ARGUS G2, and the G3 Mini shares a similar design philosophy.
The ARGUS G3 Mini has a 1350mAh battery capacity, which is 150mAh larger than the battery in the G2 Mini. It also comes with VOOPOO’s new Top Fill Cartridge V2 for improved flavor consistency and longevity.
VOOPOO says that these pods can last through up to 100ml of ejuice and provide smooth, clean flavor the whole time. The pods are also rated as leak-proof for 30 days.
If you own the ARGUS G2 Mini, is the ARGUS G3 Mini worth upgrading to? Do these new pods live up to Voopoo’s claims? How does the G3 Mini compare to its predecessor? I’ll answer all of those questions and more in this review.

Design & Build Quality
The first thing that is immediately obvious about the G3 Mini is just how much smaller it is than the G2 Mini. It’s a full 17mm shorter, and even a bit thinner, although it’s 0.2mm wider. Maybe the G3 Mini should have been called the G2 Mini Mini!
It’s a seriously nice and portable size for a pod vape, and it looks the part of a device that has “Mini” in its name. It also weighs a mere 41g, which is very light for a pod vape.
This makes the G3 Mini around 7 grams lighter than the G2 Mini, and more than 20 grams lighter than the ARGUS G3. It’s one of the lightest pod vapes that I’ve used, even beating out similar devices like Innokin’s Trine SE (51g), VAPORESSO’s VIBE SE (50g), and even Wotofo’s nexPOD Refillo (45g).
All this is to say that the G3 Mini is very small and very light. It’s the perfect little buddy to take when you’re trying to travel light.
There’s no display, adjustable wattage, or airflow control on the G3 Mini. VOOPOO has also done away with the green and blue LED bottom that was present on the G2 Mini. The G3 Mini is the epitome of simplicity, with only a Type-C charging port on the side and a thin LED indicator on the front.
VOOPOO has outdone itself with the color options for this device; there are nine colors available, and all of them are solid colors with a satin finish.
The knurling on the sides of the G3 Mini is a nice design feature. It makes the device look fancier and adds some grip as well.
Pods
Like the ARGUS G3, the ARGUS G3 Mini uses the new 3ml Top Fill V2 cartridges. These pods are powered by VOOPOO’s ICOSM CODE 2.0 and are specifically designed to provide longer-lasting and more consistent flavor than the previous generation Top Fill cartridges. These V2 cartridges can be distinguished from the V1 cartridges by their blue base.
You get one V2 cartridge with the G3 Mini, a 0.7Ω cartridge. If this pod isn’t to your liking, there are two other V2 cartridges and three V1 cartridges available, and all of these pods are compatible with the G3 Mini:
- 0.4Ω V2 cartridge (18-30W)
- 0.4Ω cartridge (18-30W)
- 0.7Ω V2 cartridge (14-18W)
- 0.7Ω cartridge (14-18W)
- 1.0Ω V2 cartridge (10-14W)
- 1.0Ω cartridge (10-14W)
While the G3 Mini does not have adjustable wattage, the device automatically adjusts the wattage for the pod that you’re using.
These are called “Top Fill” cartridges, but they’re filled through a port on the side of the pod, which might be a bit confusing. The reason that they’re called top fill is because the fill port sits above the device and remains accessible when the pod is inserted. You don’t have to remove the pod to fill, which is convenient.
These pods feature what VOOPOO refers to as a “Liquid-Seal Shield. ” Inside the pod, there’s a large metal cylinder, which is the aforementioned Liquid-Seal Shield. It encases the cotton while leaving a small opening for a layer of e-liquid to build up and coat the cotton. This design helps maintain air pressure inside the pod, preventing leakage for up to 30 days.
The cotton used is “Golden Cotton”, which quickly absorbs e-liquid and ensures a steady supply of ejuice to the coil. This leads to better flavor consistency and reduces the risk of burning.
Moreover, this golden cotton is claimed to be the industry’s first “5A aerospace-grade heat-resistant cotton”. VOOPOO says it can withstand temperatures reaching as high as 260°C, which is 73% more than the 150°C limit of standard cotton. Collectively, these features come together for a claimed 100ml of e-liquid usage per pod.
Returning to the Liquid-Seal Shield, while the benefits seem great, it complicates the filling process. Ejuice tends to become trapped and divided into two sections, separated by the central metal cylinder in the pod.
Filling the pod can be quite frustrating due to air bubbles getting stuck on the far side of the pod. This makes it hard to fill the pod entirely, and I frequently ended up with more air than ejuice inside the pod.
Overall, the filling process isn’t very straightforward or smooth, which significantly detracts from the advantages of these pods.
Battery life & Charging
The ARGUS G3 Mini brings an upgrade in battery capacity from the previous generation device. It has a 1350mAh battery, which is 150mAh larger than the battery in the G2 Mini.
While this isn’t a huge increase, any upgrade in battery capacity is a good upgrade. Charging speed remains unchanged from the G2 Mini at 1A.
Using the 0.7Ω V2 cartridge that comes with the G3 Mini, I’ve been vaping a consistent two pods per charge. If you vape heavily, you’ll be charging at least every other day.
The only indicator for battery life is the two-state LED on the front of the device. It’s either white, which indicates that the battery is above 20%, or red, which indicates that the battery is below 20%. This doesn’t give a lot of heads up to get to a charger, and a three-color LED indicator, like green, blue, and red, would be better.
Since this device utilizes 1A charging, it takes longer than I’d like to get it up and recharged. When first plugged in, the LED glows red. Eventually, it changes to a breathing white LED, but it’s not fully charged yet.
After an hour and twenty-five minutes, the LED changes to a solid white, but the G3 Mini is still not fully charged. Finally, the LED indicator turns off after an hour and forty minutes, signalling that charging is complete.
Performance
I already had the opportunity to use these new Top Fill V2 cartridges when I reviewed the ARGUS G3 in April, and the G3 Mini delivers the same great experience in a more straightforward way.
With the ARGUS G3, you can adjust the airflow and the wattage. This is a must-have for some vapers, but it can be overwhelming if you’re new to vaping. This is where the G3 Mini comes in. Since it uses the same pods, it delivers the same great flavor you get from the ARGUS G3, but without any adjustments.
The G3 Mini automatically sets the wattage, and it feels like it fires the 0.7Ω V2 cartridge from 16-18W. This is where I set the wattage manually on the ARGUS G3, so for me, it’s perfect.
The airflow is a little looser than I’d like, offering an RDL draw that can’t be adjusted. If you’re an MTL vaper interested in the G3 Mini, you’ll want to pick up the 1.0Ω V2 cartridge for a tighter draw.
I started using the G3 Mini at the end of April, and since then, I’ve refilled the same 0.7Ω cartridge multiple times. That’s over two weeks of use, and the cartridge has shown no noticeable difference in flavor or consistency. I also have not had any leaking. This is consistent with my experience with these pods from testing them with the ARGUS G3, which just reaffirms how good they are.
