Our Verdict

The design on the VMATE Infinity is especially nice. It’s high-end, well designed, and features great build quality. It’s hard to hate on the look, and some of the pod features like the anti leak and antimicrobial properties are bonuses for the design.

When it comes to the performance, if you like a hot draw from your pod vape then the VMATE Infinity delivers a draw that is hotter than most. This can either be a pro, or a downside depending on how hot of a draw you like and can handle.

Personally, it’s too hot for me to take the long draws that I want but it can definitely be a good device for vapers that want a little extra warmth that they aren’t getting from other pod vapes. The flavor and MTL draw are solid too, so it’s really a complete package for MTL vapers who want a hot draw. It does well with all strengths of nicotine salts as well, but even regular nicotine vapers will get a good experience from this device.

The VMATE Infinity Edition is a slightly redesigned and lightly upgraded version of the original Voopoo VMATE pod vape. The original VMATE was released at the tail end of 2020 and the VMATE Infinity brings new designs, as well as a new pod to the table. Otherwise, the specs between the two devices are very similar, hence this being the Infinity ‘edition’ and not the VMATE V2.

The VMATE Infinity Edition is made of aluminum alloy and the new VMATE Cartridge V2 is made of PCTG and silver ion which has antibacterial properties. The pod will hold up to 3ml of ejuice.

The VMATE Infinity has a non-user-adjustable, maximum wattage output of 17W. It has a built-in 900mAh battery and recharges through a Type-C port on the bottom of the device. One 0.7Ω pod comes included in the box.

Design & Build Quality

  • Voopoo VMATE Infinity - 3

The VMATE Infinity is a stunning device. There are 5 colors available and each one looks very high-end. The body is made of aluminum alloy and finished in a metallic paint that has a luster to it. A series of vertical lines run down the front and back of the VMATE Infinity which gives it a near-3D look which is very cool. It’s one of the fanciest looking devices I’ve used in a while.

The VMATE Infinity is the same size as the original; 95.5mm tall, 28.5mm wide, and 15mm thick. It’s a wide and flat shape that is a good size for a pod vape and it is light too. It’s small and easy to carry around, but not so small that I have to cramp my hand to hold it. It’s a natural shape and size to hold. The untextured surface is a little slippery though so I had to be careful not to drop it.

On the front side of the VMATE Infinity there is a VOOPOO logo and on the back side there is a GENE AI logo to let you know that it uses the GENE AI chipset. These logos are in the same color as the device so they blend in seamlessly and don’t stick out much at all. This keeps a clean look for the device.

On each side of the VMATE Infinity there is a single airflow hole. There is also an LED indicator that is really unique. This LED indicator is made of a series of holes that form the shape of an infinity symbol. I like this small detail because it really adds to this being the “Infinity Edition” as more than just a name.

Voopoo VMATE Infinity - 6

The bottom of the VMATE Infinity is a different finish than the rest of the device. It has a shiny, polished metal finish and it’s slightly indented. This is where you’ll find the Type-C charging port.

The top of the device has an oval shaped cutout in the center of each side and this accommodates the unique shape of the VMATE pods. The pods attach magnetically but also pressure-fit into place for a secure attachment. When the pod is inserted there is no wiggle or movement whatsoever and it’s solid as a rock.

This device comes with Voopoo’s new VMATE Cartridge V2, but the VMATE Infinity is also compatible with the original VMATE pod and V.THRU pod. Likewise, the original VMATE, as well as the VMATE E and V.THRU Pod devices are compatible with all VMATE/V.THRU pods and cartridges. You can truly mix and match devices and pods to whatever you desire.

There are no buttons on the VMATE Infinity. It’s a purely draw-activated device so you just have to inhale on the mouthpiece to vape. There are also no settings to adjust, no wattage adjustment, and no airflow control.

Pod

  • Voopoo VMATE Infinity - Pod

The VMATE Cartridge V2 that comes with the VMATE Infinity is different from the original VMATE pods in a few ways. Firstly, it’s easier to see into, which is good news for checking your ejuice level. Also, the oval shaped cutouts on each side of the pod does not have any knurling like the original pods have.

The biggest change though, is that these pods are made of PCTG as well as silver ion, which makes it antibacterial. There’s no actual silver that you can visibly see, but I’m guessing that the silver is mixed in with the PCTG. Silver ion is known to be antibacterial and Voopoo states that this makes it 99% antibacterial. Neat.

This pod also features “Fresnel lens function”, as Voopoo calls it. This supposedly reduces light deterioration of your eliquid. If you don’t vape a lot, and I’m talking about using the same pod of ejuice for weeks at a time (which doesn’t seem realistic), then I can perhaps see this being a benefit. But I think that for most vapers who will finish a pod in a few days, or a week at most, this is a gimmicky feature.

Voopoo also states that they did 128 engineering tests to make the mouthpiece as comfortable as possible — that’s a lot of research into a drip tip. I have to say that it is quite comfortable to vape on but I’m not sure if it’s any better than other comfortable drip tips that I’ve used.

The pod will hold 3ml of ejuice and is refilled by opening the rubber plug on the side of the pod. This rubber plug is hidden when the pod is inserted so you have to remove the pod to refill. No big deal.

The rubber plug also has the pod resistance on it so that you know exactly which pod you are using. The fill hole is nice and large and easy to access. You can even use 100ml chubby bottles to fill this pod and you won’t have a problem. Turning the pod upside down is the easiest way to fill and allows you to fill the pod up completely.

Another noteworthy feature of these pods is that they are designed to be leak-proof. In my experience, they are truly leak proof and I did not have any ejuice pooling in the battery or coming out of the fill port or mouthpiece.

Battery & Charging

Voopoo VMATE Infinity - 5

The VMATE Infinity retains a 900mAh battery capacity just like the original. It also retains Type-C charging. This 900mAh battery goes a long way when paired with the 17W maximum output of the device. I vaped nearly 2 full pods per charge which averaged about 2 to 3 days of vaping. The VMATE Infinity also only takes an hour to recharge from dead so you’ll never be without it for too long. It does not have pass-thru charging though so you’ll have to wait until it’s done, or unplug it, to vape.

The Infinity symbol on the side of the device lights up in different colors to indicate your battery charge. It will light up each time that you take a draw. The colors are:

  • Green: 60-100%
  • Blue: 20-60%
  • Red: 0-20%

Performance

Voopoo VMATE Infinity - 7

The VMATE Infinity comes with a single 0.7Ω pod. This pod is good for vaping nicotine salts that are 50mg strength or less or for regular nicotine ejuices of all nicotine strengths. However in my experience, the low wattage and draw perform best with medium-strength nicotine salts, such as those in the 20-35mg range.

I used a 70VG strawberry ejuice, a 50/50 watermelon ejuice, and a 60/40 candy ejuice with the VMATE Infinity. These ejuices were 20mg and 35mg strengths.

First off, the draw. The 0.7Ω pod is a MTL draw that is more on the tight side. It’s really nice and the warmth is great for short draws. Longer draws, especially when the battery is full, become hot quickly. I’m talking ‘burn your lips off’ hot. I had to take shorter draws to compensate for the heat which is not how I like to vape. If you take longer draws like I do, just know that you’re going to get hot vapor.

The flavor side of things is great. Full and rich flavor are what this pod provides and it’s really enjoyable. The throat hit even with 20mg nic salts is nice too. It’s a present throat hit that is even more present with higher strength salts.

Verdict
