Our Verdict

The Aspire Cyber X is a super portable device that truly delivers. The performance is top notch and with that you can expect to get a powerful device that delivers a constant output of 3.5V right up until the battery is dead. It has a large 1000mAh battery that will get you two days of vaping, or more, on a full charge.

The two pods that are included can be used to achieve either a tight or loose MTL draw just by simply flipping the pods direction. The pods can be used with freebase nicotine or nicotine salt ejuices.

The only thing that I would change if I could on the Cyber X is the location of the airflow hole as it was easily covered by my finger while I used the device. However, this is far from a deal breaker for me and I learned to live with it.

The Aspire Cyber X is a great device for everyone. Whether you are a new vaper who is making the switch or you are a seasoned vaper like myself, you will find this device enjoyable and satisfying. I highly recommend picking up the Aspire Cyber X, you will not be disappointed.

Aspire is not new to the vaping world at all. They’ve been around for over a decade and now they have just released a new lineup of pod vapes, the Cyber series. So far there have been three different Cyber pod vapes released: the Cyber S, Cyber G and the Cyber X. Today, I will be reviewing the Cyber X pod vape, the close relative of the Cyber S.

The Cyber X has a very futuristic look with the front portion of its body allowing you to see all the circuitry showing through. The Aspire Cyber X comes with a large 1000mAh battery that is sure to get you several days of vaping without needing to recharge. When that time comes, the battery is rechargeable using Type-C 2A charging which will get you fully charged in about an hour.

Included in the box are two pods, a 0.8Ω pod and a 1.0Ω pod, both able to hold up to 3ml of ejuice. They do sell a TPD version that holds up to 2ml of ejuice for those in the EU. The pods feature airflow holes on both sides, allowing you to turn the pod 180° to change between a MTL draw to a RDL draw.

It seems to me that Aspire is trying to make a comeback and reclaim their spot as one of the best yet again. After the success of their Breeze line, Aspire has been a bit quiet and maybe even overlooked. But with the delivery of the Cyber lineup, can they take the crown back?

Design & Build Quality

  • Aspire Cyber X Review - 1

The Aspire Cyber X is super portable and unlike its tall and slender brother the Cyber S, the Cyber X is short and square. Its futuristic design is interesting and allows you to see the pod, battery and board through the device. Many devices have been taking on this look as of late, and I really like what Aspire did here.

The Cyber X is very portable and can fit in just about any pocket. It stands at just 74.2mm tall, 51mm wide and 20.5mm deep. This small device is very comfortable to hold and use. At 67.5g it is quite a bit heavier than the Cyber S which is only 54.5g. If you are looking at getting either of these devices you can get either a heavier device that is a little more portable (Cyber X), or a lighter device that is taller (Cyber S).

The front of the device is made of a clear plastic that allows you to see everything inside. There is an indented “X” shape with a circle in the middle for your thumb or finger to rest on. The only writing on the clear plastic shell is a stylized “a” printed in orange font, which is the Aspire logo. The plastic shell is secured by four metal screws that connect it to the back portion of the device.

Through the plastic shell you can see the bottom portion of the pod which allows you to clearly see your ejuice level even when it is almost done. This is very useful and allows you to track your ejuice level so you don’t unnecessarily burn out your coil. The pod connects to the device using magnets and is very secure once installed.

Just below the pod is the board which has an interesting feature which I will touch on in the features section of this review. Finally, just to the right of the pod and board you can see the 1000mAh battery, which is wrapped in a super futuristic sleeve, featuring a holographic design.

The side of the device which houses the pod is where you will find the power button and the airflow hole. The power button is circular and has some circular imprints for some extra grip. The button is very clicky and takes a bit of pressure to activate.

The bottom of the device is clear as well and is where you can find the Type-C charging port. As the charging port is on the bottom of the device you will have to lay it down to charge. The Cyber X does allow pass-thru charging so you won’t be without a device when it’s time to recharge.

The back of the Cyber X features a metal casing which ties into the futuristic look of the device. I received the Pearl Silver color for the purpose of this review and it nicely complements the clear, mechanical look. There are six different options to choose from, Pearl Silver, Coral Orange, Frost Blue, Sage Green, Gunmetal and Flax Yellow.

Much like the plastic panel, the metal back panel features the same indented “X” shape with a circular indent made for your thumb or finger. This makes the device even more comfortable to hold. Inside the “X” shaped lines there are four elongated LED lights that light up when the device is being used and when it is charging.

Pods

Aspire Cyber X Review - 9 Pods

The Aspire Cyber X uses replaceable pods that have the coil preinstalled — no need to fuss over having to change a coil. This is especially great for newer vapers. Although there are three different vapes in the Cyber lineup, only two of the three use the same pods. The Cyber S and Cyber X use the same pods, while the Cyber G uses a completely different pod which are not compatible with this device.

The Cyber X comes with two pods, a 0.8Ω pod and a 1.0Ω pod. The pods are completely clear and have no tint to them at all. This allows you to see your ejuice level without issue. To fill the pods you simply remove the rubber plug to access the fill port, then fill up and securely close. I had no issues filling these pods.

The Cyber X does not come with an adjustable airflow control, however there are two options for airflow with this device. Simply by turning the pod 180° you can achieve either a loose MTL draw or a tight MTL draw. If you prefer a loose MTL draw ensure that the pod is installed with the coil resistance visible from the clear panel. For a tight MTL draw the coil resistance should not be visible through the panel.

When the pod is inserted into the device, there is a slight wiggle when you are trying to move it back and forth. However, while using the device, I didn’t notice any movement.

Features & Functions

Aspire Cyber X Review - 8

The Cyber X is an easy to use device with which you don’t have to worry about too many settings and options. As I touched on in the pods section, there are two different airflow options. The airflow is easily changed by taking the pod out and turning it 180°.

You can expect to get a consistent vaping experience thanks to the fact that the Cyber X is a constant output device. The Cyber X will output 3.5V at all times until the battery is drained. This means that you can achieve a draw that is powerful and strong from the beginning to the end of the battery life.

One of the other main features of the Aspire Cyber X is that there are three different drawing options. You can use the power button to select between auto-draw, button only, or both button and auto-drawing.

When you press the fire button three times, two LED lights, which are located on the board, will light up. These LEDs are visible through the front clear panel. Pressing the button will toggle between the three different options:

  • Both LED lights: Both button and auto-draw vaping are enabled.
  • Top LED only: Only draw activated vaping is enabled. Button activation will not work.
  • Bottom LED only: Only button activated vaping is enabled. Draw activation will not work.

I personally didn’t find much use for this feature. I preferred to keep it on the setting that allowed both button and auto-draw activation. However if you are a vaper who strictly uses auto-draw, you might find this feature to be useful as it wont allow the device to accidentally fire in your pocket or bag.

Battery & Charging

Aspire Cyber X Review - 6

The Aspire Cyber X has the largest battery of the three Cyber devices that have been released thus far. The 1000mAh battery is likely to get you more than two days of heavy vaping. Lighter vapers can expect to get several days of vaping without needing to recharge. Plus, thanks to its constant output, you wont need to recharge daily just to keep the output strong enough to get a satisfying draw.

The LED light on the metal panel of the device will light up each time you take a draw. It will light up in one of three colors to let you know where your battery level is at. These are:

  • Green: 60-100%
  • Blue: 30-60%
  • Red: Less than 30%

When the device is completely dead the LED will flash red to let you know it is time to recharge. The 2A Type-C charging allows for a quick charge and takes about an hour to get you to full battery. As I mentioned previously, the Cyber X does support pass-thru charging so you won’t be left stranded while you wait for it to charge.

Performance

Aspire Cyber X Review - 7

When it comes to performance I can confidently say that the Aspire Cyber X is up there among the best of the best. The strong, warm, and consistent draw is something that I really like, and that is all thanks to the constant output of 3.5V.

Both pods give you the option of experiencing the draw that you prefer, whether it be a tight MTL draw or a loose MTL draw. I did not find too much of a difference between the two pods, with a little bit of a stronger hit off the 0.8Ω pod than that of the 1.0Ω pod.

I found that both airflow settings were enjoyable to use, however I personally preferred the loose MTL draw. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a difference there is between the two different airflows. Each airflow mode is quite different and that’s nice to see from such a simple airflow system.

The flavor from the pods are exceptional, even after refilling them multiple times. The coils are excellent and deliver great flavor and a warm draw.

I did not have any leaking with the pods, even when I had the device sitting overnight or laying on its side to charge. I did notice some small condensation, but nothing to be too worried about.

Verdict
