You asked, they delivered. Dovpo and The Vapor Chronicles have released the Topside Dual which takes two 18650 batteries and features the same convenient top-filled design as the original. The Topside Dual brings a full set of features and more power for those wanting to squonk with lower-resistance builds.
Refilling the squonk bottle on the Topside Dual is super quick and mess free thanks to the top-filled port. Just unscrew the cap on the Topside Dual, and refill your ejuice! The nice width and curvy design of the device feels solid in your hand and is comfortable to vape and squonk with.
The battery efficiency on the Topside Dual is noticeably better than other squonk mods. This means more time vaping and less time charging, even at mid to high wattages. Of course, being a regulated squonk mod, the Topside Dual also has multiple battery safety features built in.
There are three buttons and a 0.96 inch display located on the front of the Topside Dual. The fire button is located towards the top of the device and is round and raised. It also has a raised ring that goes around its perimeter. This is genius because if any juice leaks, it will simply roll off and around the fire button rather than into it. Very thoughtful design. The fire button works flawlessly and is very responsive. There’s no button rattle, but the click that you get from the buttons feel and sound just right.
The Topside Dual supports Power, Bypass, and Temperature Control Modes. It will fire at up to 220W in Power mode and from 200-600F in TC. Being a dual battery mod, you can expect great battery life at mid-high wattages and decent but respectable efficiency above 100W.
The Topside Dual uses a massive 10ml squonk bottle. This is the largest among squonk mods and allow you to refill and forget for much longer than with any other mod. For it’s superb performance, easy top-filling and massive squonk bottle the Topside Dual stands tall as our pick for the best squonk mod available.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Topside Dual takes away the whole inconvenience of using a squonk mod, and makes it perhaps the most convenient way to enjoy using an RDA. You get a full set of features, a 10ml squonk bottle, and a top-filling port to prevent mess and spills. So far, the Topside Dual is the best dual battery squonk mod of 2019.
With a beautiful look that is available in a variety of different frosted, resin, or carbon fiber panels, the Pulse X is a truly well-built single battery squonk mod. The Pulse X is powered by either a single high amperage 18650, 20700, or 21700 battery. In order to use an 18650 battery, you’ll just have to use the included adapter.
The design, look, and button placement of the Pulse X are identical to the Pulse 80W. Featuring a crisp 0.91” OLED display that is controlled by two small adjustment buttons located just below it, the Pulse X is easy to use and is powered by Vandy Vape’s in-house “Vandy” chip. This Vandy chipset performs remarkably well and has exceeded many vapers expectations for sure.
The Pulse X is built to be a reliable, mid-power regulated squonking device and it does this job remarkably well. With the Vandy Vape in-house chip, the Pulse X will fire from 5-90W in power mode, supports TC mode from 200-600F and even supports Bypass and Voltage output mode. For such a compact device, the new regulated Pulse X is packed with features and will cater well to any squonking fanatic. An interesting feature of the Pulse X is its “Hard Mode”. This allows you to boost the power by 10W, effectively letting you go up to 100W. Neat.
As you would expect from a regulated device, the Pulse X includes a number of safety features, such as: overheating protection, open circuit protection, short circuit protection, overcurrent protection, and overtime protection, and low battery warning.
The Pulse X comes with a large 8ml squonk bottle, which should be more than large enough to get you through the day without dripping, and the bottle itself is extremely well-built and designed to be leak-free.
All-in-all, the Pulse X is an incredible squonk mod and definitely one of the best single battery squonk mods currently available. Wattage mode on the Pulse X is awesome and works flawlessly, and squonking is smooth and without a hitch. If you’re looking for a hassle free, single battery squonk mod the Pulse X is one of our top recommendations.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Pulse X will fire up to 90W and features a beautiful resin design, and a button layout that is identical to the Pulse 80W. With the ability to fire in TC mode, bypass mode and voltage mode, the Pulse X offers a variety of modes and functionalities that rival the best regulated squonk mods out there. With the included 8ml squonk bottle, you’ll have plenty of juice to go drip-free and the new bottle design is pretty leak-proof. The Pulse X is a superb single battery squonk mod.
The Drone BF is the latest squonk mod to be released from Lost Vape. A follow-up to the original Drone and Therion squonkers, they took everything that was good about these two devices and improved upon them to make an even better squonk mod.
The entire aesthetic of this mod is elegant, beautiful, and classy. There are currently four color options, all of which are equally good looking. Sporting a unique look, the Amber ULTEM panels allow you to see through to the internals of the mod — a cool design unlike any other squonk mod on the market.
The Drone BF uses Evolv’s DNA 250C chipset. This gives you near-unmatched reliability and performance in power mode, but it’s also the most accurate chip on the market when it comes to temperature control. No matter what type of coil material you use, the Drone will throttle power up or down accordingly for a smooth, perfect vape every time.
You get a complete set of modes and features with the Drone. The device uses dual 18650 batteries and can output up to 167W in Power Mode — perfect for those squonking with lower resistance builds. Battery life is also amazing due to the DNA250C chip which is rated at an incredible 97% output efficiency rating. More time vaping and less time charging batteries? I’ll take it.
The squonk bottle has been redesigned and will hold up to 7ml of ejuice. It’s super squishy for easy squonking and located comfortably at the bottom of the device. Squonking works seamlessly and without any mess. It’s everything you could ever want in a squonk mod.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
This squonk mod from Lost Vape is a winner. The DNA250C chip provides unrivaled performance in both Power and Temperature Control Modes while also maintaining one of the best battery efficiencies of any chip on the market. The entire device is extremely well-constructed. This squonk mod is one that will last you well into next year and still function marvelously for years after. One of our top picks for a dual battery squonk mod.
Built with beautiful curves and an ergonomic design, the Desire Rage Squonk feels good to hold in your hands. And with an array of features, the Desire Rage is one of the best squonk mods you can get.
The Rage is powered by dual 18650 batteries. This will allow you a fair bit of usage time if you’re vaping at low-mid wattages. The chip on the Desire Rage has a wide range of battery safety features, such as short circuit protection, low voltage protection, and over charge protection. These are all great to have if you’re concerned about vaping safely but still want to squonk.
Sporting a 0.59 inch OLED display, the Desire Rage displays vital vaping information in a clear and crisp way. With wattage/voltage modes as well as temperature control modes, you get a full range of features. The Rage supports wattage from 5-155W. It will also do TC mode with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel coils up to 600 degrees F.
The Rage Squonk will fire atomizers from 0.1 to 3.0 ohms, which should be suitable for most everyone aside from truly advanced vapers. The squonk bottle included with the Desire Rage has a 7ml capacity which is a little on the small side, but still manageable.
The price of the Rage Squonk makes it a great purchase, even if you already have a squonk mod. You get good value for those looking for a squonk mod that performs, and it is definitely one of the best squonkers you can get.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Desire Rage Squonks dual battery platform is nice, and the battery protection measures are awesome. With the ability to fire at up to 155 watts, this baby delivers plenty of power and the TC mode and power modes work like a charm. The squonk bottle capacity is great at 7ml, and will allow you plenty of squonking.
The HCigar Aurora is hands down one of the best cheap squonk mods available. Available in either black, red, or white, the Aurora has a nice metal finish and a comfortable, small form factor. This mod is interesting because you’re able to adjust the battery compartment by using a switch on the back of the device. This allows you to use either a single 18650 or 21700 battery for power.
The HCigar Aurora has a very nice four button control face. This consists of one large firing button, two adjustment buttons, and a dedicated menu button. There is also a 0.96 inch OLED screen that will display essential vaping information. This menu can be adjusted with the use of Escribe.
The Aurora is powered by the HCigar Towis XTC80C chipset, and comes with three power mode outputs: soft, normal, and hard. The Aurora will fire at up to 80W in Power mode, from 200-600F in Temperature Control Mode, and also includes TCR. There are also numerous safety features built into the HCigar Aurora like short circuit protection, low battery protection, overheating protection, overcurrent protection, and more.
You get a 7ml squonk bottle with this single battery squonker. This should be more than large enough to get you through a good day of vaping. The bottle is very nice and well made, and the threading in the cap is well machined. The HCigar Aurora is definitely a top choice for anyone seeking a good, single battery squonk mod.
Versed Vaper Rating: A
The sweet looking form factor and great performance make the HCigar Aurora a great pick for a single battery squonk mod. The Towis XTC80C chipset, while a mouthful to say, delivers reliable power up to 80W in wattage mode, and will work decently in TC mode as well.
A collaboration between Dovpo and Brian from The Vapor Chronicles, the Topside is a gorgeous single battery squonk mod that will fire at up to 90W. But this isn’t just any squonk mod — the Topside is the world’s first squonker that can be refilled without having to remove the bottle.
Simply unscrew the cap on the Topside, and refill your ejuice! This makes refilling your squonk bottle super quick and mess free. The slim and curvy design of the Topside feels nice to hold in your hand, and the weight of the device is solid and comfortable.
There are three rounded buttons on the Topside: One large firing button and two smaller adjustment buttons. The display is very crisp and easy to read, and offers all the vaping information you need.
The Topside supports Power, Bypass, and Temperature Control Modes. It will fire at up to 90W in Power mode, and from 200-600F in TC. Because it is a single battery mod, you can expect decent battery life using it at mid-high wattages.
Besides the convenience of top filling, the Topside includes two 10ml silicone squonk bottles! These bottles are massive, and will allow you to refill and forget for quite some time (depending on how much you vape).
If you want the best that you can get when it comes to single battery squonk mods, pick yourself up the Dovpo Topside. The battery efficiency, reliability, massive 10ml squonk bottles, and top-filling make the Topside our top choice for 2019.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Topside will fire up to 90W, and features a unique and convenient top filling squonk bottle. And at 10ml in size, this squonk bottle affords you plenty of room to squonk without refilling. Due to its great battery efficiency and superb performance in Power, Bypass, and TC modes, the Topside is the best choice for a single battery squonker in 2019.
Available in four different colors, the Desire Cut is a single battery squonk mod with a gorgeous design. A collaboration between Desire and Project Sub-Ohm, the Desire Cut takes a single 18650 or 21700 battery to function and will fire at up to 108W.
Unlike most other squonk mods, the fire button and adjustment buttons are not located on the same side as the screen. Instead, you’ll find them on the side of the device. The fire button is large and oversize for easy use, while the adjustment buttons are smaller but just as accessible. The OLED screen on the Desire Cut is 0.96 inches, and will display a full range of vaping information.
The Desire Cut is powered by the Desire chipset and supports Wattage mode from 5-108W, Temperature Control Mode from 200-600F, & TCR. And of course, you also get multiple safety features built in like short circuit protection, battery protection, low voltage protection, and more.
The Desire Cut comes with a 7ml squonk bottle that is very nice and well built, and a pleasure to use and squonk with. Overall, the Desire Cut is a great single battery squonk mod that will reliably and efficiently get you through your day. The quality from this Project Sub-Ohm collaboration is extremely high, and will definitely exceed your expectations. For solid squonking performance and great style, buy the Desire Cut.
Versed Vaper Rating: A
The Desire Cut has gorgeous looks and will take a single 18650 or 21700 battery. Best suited for low to mid wattage vapers, the Desire Cut will fire at up to 108W and sports a decent TC mode as well. A great pick for a single battery squonk mod.
If you want to vape at higher wattages and squonk, you’re going to need a dual battery mod. The Pulse Dual is the latest addition to the Pulse family and it brings a dual battery platform in an all-new form factor. Sturdy and solidly constructed, the Pulse Dual is the perfect device for those looking for more power.
The Pulse Dual takes two 18650 batteries to function and this will allow you a good amount of vaping time at lower wattages. The onboard Vandy Chip does a great job of regulating power to your coils and also has numerous battery safety features built-in for safer vaping.
There are three buttons on the Pulse Dual: two adjustment buttons and one large firing button. The adjustment buttons are located on the front of the device while the firing button is located on the back of the device. The fire button sits almost flush and this makes it easy to fire the mod with either your index finger or your thumb.
You get a full set of features with the Pulse Dual, as it will support Power, Bypass, Voltage, and Temperature Control mode, as well as custom DIY curves. It will fire from 5-220W in Power mode, from 200-600F in Temperature Control mode and supports NI200, SS, and Titanium.
Something cool about the Pulse Dual is that it allows you to turn off modes that you don’t use. For example, if you only use wattage and bypass mode, you can turn off temperature control and voltage mode. This saves you from having to cycle through modes that you never use, and keeps the UI easy to navigate.
The overall construction of the squonk bottle is very high-quality, as you would expect from a company like Vandy Vape. The Pulse Dual has a 7ml bottle that is short and wide, with just the right amount of squish to it. It squonks without a problem and is also very easy to refill.
While good dual battery squonk mods are few and far between, the Pulse Dual is a hit. It’s ergonomic form factor makes it extremely comfortably to vape with, and the ability to go up to 220W means that high wattage vapers can still squonk, too. You can’t go wrong with the Pulse Dual.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Pulse Dual comes with an amazing chip and will deliver up to 220W without breaking a sweat. The battery protection features are great to have and squonking with the device works flawlessly. It’s a quality, reliable, dual battery squonk mod that comes from a name in the vaping industry that you can trust.
Lost Vape’s Therion BF DNA 75C is another great squonk mod. With a beautifully curved zinc alloy chassis, either carbon fiber or wood accent panels, and a leather wrapped battery door, it looks pretty beautiful. The Therion has a 510 thread point that is machined out of high grade stainless steel, while the squonk-ready 510 contact itself is nickel plated brass for high conductivity.
The Therion 75c is controlled by four buttons, and has a large firing button for ease of use. The device is powered by a single 18650 battery, and the contacts in the battery area are sturdy. Overall, the device is quite well built.
The Therion comes with the updated DNA 75c chipset that brings an array of features to the device: an updated color screen, adjustable themes, essential information display such as actual temp, set wattage, actual wattage, battery percentage, weak battery, ohms too high or low, too hot etc.. The 0.96 inch color screen on the Therion is actually quite amazing, and the DNA75c chipset is really quite impressive.
The readouts being customizable is extremely useful and an important feature to have for those who want total control of their vaping experience. Similar to the DNA75 chip, the DNA75C color chipset maintains its reputation as one of the safest and most accurate chips on the market. If you’re steering away from mechs for safety reasons, this chipset has you covered.
This squonk mod has temperature control and VW modes, supporting 1-75W in power mode, and 200-600 degrees F in TC mode. The TC mode will support Ni200, titanium, and stainless steel coils.
The Therion 75c comes with a 7ml silicon squonk bottle that rests in front of the battery. The size of the bottle is fine, but the placement is not. In order to remove the battery, you have to remove the squonk bottle. This is a little bit of poor design in my opinion, and definitely could of been executed better. Other than that small gripe, the bottle itself is great.
What’s awesome about Lost Vape and the Therion device is the included 30ml silicon refilling bottle. You can put whatever juice you want in that bad boy, and be on your way without having to carry the entire bottle. Quite thoughtful of them.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Therion 75c comes with the DNA75c chip that has great functionality and features, and the 30ml silicon refilling bottle is handy if you don’t want to carry a whole bottle of juice around. The mod functions and squonks fine, however it only goes up to 75 watts and the squonk bottle has to be removed in order to access the battery. Overall, an amazing 18650 squonk mod.
The GeekVape GBOX 200 has a different look than most other regulated squonk mods that I’ve seen. This isn’t to say it’s a bad thing, but it might not be for everyone. The design is a rounded, triangular shaped appearance, with a large squonk cut out. It comes in a few different colors, but nothing like the personalization of the Inbox’s removable covers.
Unlike some of the other squonkers on our list, the GBOX 200 is a dual 18650 battery mod and features the AS chipset. This chipset provides great battery safety features, as well as a multitude of other perks. These include: a great OLED screen, temperature control mode, variable wattage mode, VPC support, and bypass mode.
The OLED display on the GBOX 200 shows information vertically on a menu, and provides essential information about resistance, amps, voltage, battery life, and even has a puff counter.
The GBOX 200’s temperature control mode is a little lackluster, and I would personally suggest going with another squonk mod if that’s what you’re after. However, the wattage mode functions great, and can go as high as 200 watts.
The GBOX 200 kit includes an 8ml squonk bottle which is great, and the squonking performance is good as well. Similar to the Therion, you have to remove the batteries to access and fill the squonk bottle, which is a little annoying. However aside from that, the GBOX is inexpensive and performs.
Included in this kit is the 24mm Radar BF RDA which pairs great with this dual battery squonk mod, although you can put your own RDA on it if you wish.
Versed Vaper Rating: A-
The GBOX 200 is a great dual battery squonk mod but the temperature control mode is a bit lackluster. However, the wattage mode goes up to 200 watts and functions great. While the design may not be for everyone, the AS chipset gives you some cool features and the battery safety and display are superb. Overall a great dual battery squonk mod, but the design and TC mode warrant an A-.
If you’re looking for a high-end, single battery squonk mod, look no further than the Boxer Classic BF mod with DNA75C chip. 3D printed and made out of nylon plastic, the Boxer Classic BF DNA75C is light, durable, and available in multiple attractive colors. The form factor of this mod is both beautiful as well as comfortable to hold, and in our opinion the Boxer BF DNA75C is perhaps the best looking squonk mod currently available.
The control interface of the Boxer BF DNA75C is made up of four buttons on the front of the device: one oversized firing button, and three adjustment buttons. It also has a large 0.96 Inch full color screen that displays essential information such as: actual temperature, set wattage, actual wattage, battery percentage, weak battery, ohms too high or low, too hot etc..
The Boxer BF DNA75C utilizes the updated Evolv DNA75C color chipset & built in Escribe software to bring a variety of safety features to the device such as: battery monitoring, reverse polarity protection, temperature protection, atomizer short protection, overheating protection, and charging protection. These are all great to have if you’re concerned about vaping safely, but still want to squonk.
With wattage/voltage modes as well as temperature control modes, you get a full range of features. The Boxer BF DNA75C supports wattage from 1-75W, and TC mode with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel coils up to 600 degrees F. No matter what mode you use, the Boxer BF DNA75C delivers amazing performance.
Differing from most of the other squonk mods on our list, the Boxer BF DNA75C utilizes either a single 20700 or 21700 battery instead of an 18650. This is great because it will generally mean longer battery life and less time charging, as 20700/21700’s usually come in high mAh capacities. Just make sure you get yourself a good quality, high drain, authentic 20700 or 21700 from a reputable source.
The squonk bottle included with the Boxer BF DNA75C is 7ml and while not the largest, it will hold more than enough ejuice to save you from dripping for a long while. The squonking performance of this mod is top-notch, and will satisfy anyone looking for a great squonk mod. The only drawback to this great mod is the price, as it is definitely one of the most expensive on our list. Again though, the Boxer BF DNA75C is 3D printed and meant to be a high-end, regulated squonk mod for those looking for nothing but the best. You will not be dissapointed.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Boxer BF DNA75C comes with an amazing chip, and the squonking performance is out of this world for a single battery device. The battery protection measures are great, and while it only fires at up to 75W, it functions beautifully and works great in TC mode too. As long as you get yourself a good 20700/21700 battery, you’re good to go! Only drawback is the price, as it is quite expensive.
An inexpensive and highly functional squonk mod, the iJoy Capo 216 is great for beginner squonkers and is the smallest dual 20700 regulated squonk mod on the market. With a shape similar to that of the GBOX 200, the Capo 216 is available in a handful of different colors.
Sometimes keeping it simple is the best design. The Capo 216 has a three button control interface consisting of one enlarged fire button and two control buttons. It also has a simple 0.66 in OLED display that shows your output wattage, battery life, and atomizer resistance. You won’t find any complicated information crowding up this screen.
The iJoy Capo 216 uses the IWEPAL designed chipset which includes a variety of safety features such as: low voltage protection, current protection, output protection, short circuit protection, low resistance protection, overheating protection & timeout protection.
The iJoy Capo 216 supports wattage from 5-216W, and temperature control mode with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel from 300-600 degrees F. Keep in mind that the Capo 216 uses dual 18650 or 20700 batteries, so be sure to pick some up from a reputable source.
The 9ml included squonk bottle is hardened at the top and bottom, but soft in the center for easy squonking and more than large enough to save you from dripping for a while. Overall, the Capo 216 is a great regulated squonking device for any beginner, but more advanced vapers will love its simplicity, reliability and ease of use as well.
Versed Vaper Rating: A-
While the iJoy Capo is a great performing, cheap regulated dual battery squonk mod, it doesn’t have the same essential information display as most of the other regulated squonk mods on our list. While the Capo 216 is a good squonk mod for those looking for something simple, more advanced users will probably want to pick up a different mod with more features.

The Hotcig RSQ is a single 18650 battery regulated squonk box mod, and is a collaboration between HotCig and Rig Mod WorldWide. Now, while you may or may not have heard of these companies previously, both Hotcig & Rig Mod have been in the vaping business for a long time and produce some quality products.
The RSQ is quite tiny, and its all-metal construction and smooth edges give it a solid, weighty, & comfortable feel in your hand. The RSQ is available in multiple different colors, and all of them are quite stunning. The battery cover on the RSQ features a very modern looking carbon fibre finish, while the metal body on the back of the mod is embossed with ”RSQ”. When it comes to design, the RSQ is definitely one of the best looking squonk mods available.
For the control interface, there are three buttons on the Hotcig RSQ: one large circular fire button, and two small adjustment buttons. Pretty simple. The RSQ also features a crisp 0.91 inch OLED display that will display vital vaping information.
The Hotcig RSQ is powered by the waterproof HM chipset, and supports Power, Temperature Control, and Bypass Modes. Being a single 18650 battery mod, you can’t vape at 150W with this baby. But the RSQ will fire at up to 80W in power mode, and will even do your expected 200-600F in TC mode quite well.
The RSQ comes with two different 7ml squonk bottles: one is soft silicone, and one hard plastic bottle. You can use whichever you prefer, and it’s always nice to have an extra squonk bottle. Speaking of squonking, the RSQ performs exceedingly well for such a small, low powered device. The only drawback to the RSQ is that it only takes a single 18650 battery, and so battery life can get a little short at times if you’re vaping closer to 80W.
Overall, if you’re looking for a well-designed and amazing performing squonk mod, the Hotcig RSQ makes a great choice. Its small size, full set of features, and great squonking performance make the RSQ stand out from the crowd. Definitely a welcome addition to any true squonkers collection.
Versed Vaper Rating: A+
The Hotcig RSQ will fire up to 80W, and packs a full set of features. Supporting Power, TC, and Bypass modes, it performs exceedingly well for such a small device. The two different 7ml squonk bottles are great, and the RSQ squonks leak free and without any problems. If you’re looking for a reliable single battery regulated squonk mod, we highly recommend the Hotcig RSQ.
The Pico Squeeze 2 is here, and is the long awaited update to the original Pico Squeeze that was released in 2016. Featuring a new regulated chipset that can fire at up to 100W, an OLED display, and support for Temperature Control Mode, the Pico Squeeze 2 is larger, more powerful, and more feature filled than its predecessor.
The Pico Squeeze 2 supports either a single 18650 or 21700 battery, and is powered by the Avatar chipset. And while it isn’t a DNA chip, the Avatar chip will deliver a very respectable TC experience. You also get support for Bypass and TCR as well.
The Pico Squeeze 2 has three buttons, one large fire button located on the back of the device and two small adjustment buttons on the front. It also has a 0.91 OLED screen that will display basic vaping information such as battery life, atomizer resistance, and output voltage.
The squonk bottle on the Squeeze 2 comes in at 8ml, slightly larger than most of the other mods on our list. Covered by a magnetic door, this bottle is very squishy, easy to fill, and squonks well.
If you’re concerned about safety, the Pico Squeeze 2 has you protected. You get overcharge protection, over current protection, over discharge protection, reverse polarity protection, and much more.
Versed Vaper Rating: A-
The Pico Squeeze 2 is another instant classic. If you’re serious about squonking, Eleaf has proven that they still know what you need. The Pico Squeeze 2 will fire at up to 100W, and takes a single 18650 or 21700 battery. While not the fanciest squonk mod on the market, the Pico Squeeze 2 gets the job done; and it’s pretty good on battery life too.

What Is a Squonk Mod?
A squonk mod very closely resembles a box mod, except for one key distinction: a cut out in one of the side panels, which allows access to a silicone bottle of ejuice. Squonk mods are meant to be used with bottom-feeding Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers(RDAs) with hollow 510 connectors because this allows the vaper to squeeze the bottle of ejuice, which then sends juice up into the RDA. No need to drip! This is great because it makes the whole experience of using an RDA very hassle free. The only problem with squonkers was, up until recently, that they were all mechanical. If you were looking for regulated squonk mods, you just couldn’t find any.
To briefly explain the difference, a regulated squonk mod has a chipset on-board that controls the power going to the coil, as well as other important battery safety related functions. Aside from the battery safety features, regulated squonk mods also have temperature control modes, variable voltage/wattage modes and much, much more. It makes sense to use a regulated squonk mod if you want to use an RDA and squonk, but still want the safety and customizability of a regulated mod.
Why Use a Squonk Mod?
There are many reasons to use a squonk mod, even more so if you aren’t already using an RDA (check out our list of the best RDAs in 2019 to get into dripping!):
- Most included silicon squonk bottles are at least a 7ml capacity. This is more juice capacity than most tanks, and means longer days without rejuicing!
- Squonking means that you don’t have to drip, your hands are free again!
- You aren’t sacrificing the amazing flavor intensity that you get from dripping on an RDA. When you squeeze the squonk bottle, it will wick your cotton and then drain back into the squonk bottle, leaving you with fresh juice for a few draws.
Why Use a Regulated Squonk Mod?
But why use a regulated squonk mod? For that too there are many reasons:
- Battery safety features included with regulated chipsets both for battery draw as well as for battery charging.
- Variable Voltage/Wattage is nice to have when you want a denser draw.
- Temperature control modes are great to have for some advanced coil builds.
- Having a display that gives you useful information can be, well, useful.
