Wotofo AEROK

3.5
Good
PROS
- Simple and clean design
- Very small for the specs
- Massive 1650mAh battery
- 4ml pod capacity
- Can do both MTL and RDL well
- Included coils can be used for freebase ejuices and/or nic salt ejuices
- Very easy to use
- Button and draw activated
- Top airflow design; doesn't leak
CONS
- Display is very basic and old school
- Takes over an hour and a half to fully charge
- Top airflow design; the flavor isn't as good as it could be
The bottom line
The AEROK pod kit is a vape that does well for both MTL and RDL vaping. No matter which coil you choose, you can vape how you want. I suggest using the 0.6Ω coil for RDL and the 0.8Ω coil for MTL vaping though because this is how the AEROK performs best.
The overall build quality is great and the design is nice but a bit ‘retro’. I really like how small and light this vape is even though it has a massive 4ml pod and 1650mAh battery. With these specs, I was able to vape for days without having to worry about recharging. The charging speed could be improved though.
The flavor from these coils is my major issue with the AEROK. I expected intense and wonderful flavor from these nexMESH coils and instead I experienced flavor that was only ‘good’ and which was inconsistent. It’s possible that I received some dud coils with my kit but that’s still not a great situation.
If you’re looking for a back up vape that is small and which has a battery that will last for a while, the AEROK could be a good choice. Just don’t expect to be wowed by the flavor from the coils.

Wotofo is best known for their rebuildable tanks and, more recently, their vast array of disposable vapes. Wotofo also makes pod kits, although they don’t come out with them as often as their other types of products.
Their latest pod kit is the AEROK. It comes with coils for both freebase and nicotine salt vaping and is able to do two styles of vaping, MTL and RDL, reasonably well. It comes with two newly designed nexMESH coils and an impressive 4ml capacity pod.
The AEROK can fire at up to 30W and comes with a very large, built-in 1650mAh battery that recharges with Type-C charging. It also has a 0.69in OLED display.
Some of Wotofo’s previous pod devices include the nexPOD which uses pre-filled pods, and the Manik and Manik Mini which use refillable pods.
How does the AEROK pod kit fare against other pod vapes, and is it worth purchasing? I’ll go over the design, build quality, features, battery life, and performance in this review.

Design & Build Quality
The AEROK pod kit is very small for the large pod capacity and battery. It’s seriously impressive how small it is. It’s 98mm tall, 34.4mm wide, and 19.3mm deep and only weighs 70g. So not only is it small but it’s light too. Packing a 1650mAh battery and a 4ml capacity pod into a pod vape of this size takes a good bit of smart engineering, so hats off to Wotofo here.
The AEROK is a bit too tall to be concealed entirely in my hand but I can hide most of it. The body gets wider towards the back of the device and it’s just big enough that it’s comfortable to grip it entirely. The aluminum alloy body feels strong and rigid. It feels durable as well.
One side of the AEROK says “WOTOFO”, while the other side has “AEROK” near the bottom. Both words are printed in a relatively small font and in almost the same color as the device. It’s subtle branding and I like how unobtrusive it is.
There aren’t many colors available for the AEROK but the four that are available are all rather low-key and neutral. Silver, Blue, Black, and Red are the color options and none of them are bright or stand out too much. I’ve been using the Red version for my testing and the deep, burgundy red color looks great with the satin-metallic finish.
On the front side of the device there is a button and a tiny display. The button is firm but responsive and can be used for a couple of functions; powering on or off the device, adjusting the wattage, or toggling the activation mode to dual mode or draw activated only.
The nicest way to describe the display is “retro”. It’s tiny and in black and white, measuring only 0.69in. It’s rather basic and displays only essential information like battery life, wattage output, coil resistance, and puff count. It’s better than no display, if only barely.
Pod & Coils
The AEROK uses pods that take replaceable coils. However, unlike most other pod kits that only come with one pod, the AEROK comes with two pods and each one has a coil pre-installed. This is great because it means that you can vape on two different ejuices simply by switching the pod.
Both pods have a 4ml capacity. These are side-filled pods which means that you can’t fill them while they’re installed in the device. The rubber stopper is quite thick and the fill port is quite large.
Coils install into the bottom of the pod by push-fitting them in. There are straight sides to the coil so you have to line those up with the straight edges on the bottom of the pod, but otherwise it’s straightforward to install a new coil.
Two coils come with the AEROK: a 0.6Ω coil and a 0.8Ω coil. These are newly designed nexMESH coils. The 0.6Ω coil (17-20W) is recommended for RDL vaping and freebase ejuices, while the 0.8Ω coil (12-15W) is recommended for MTL vaping and nic salts. Honestly though, I found that both coils could be used for freebase and nic salt ejuices, as well as for MTL and RDL vaping. The recommended uses are definitely how the coils perform best but they’re versatile coils overall.
The shape of the pod is a bit odd. It’s shaped the same way as the device, with one end being wider than the other. This means that the pod only fits into the device one way and that it’s a bit tricky to line it up correctly to insert it. Once it’s in though, it’s in, and the magnets hold it tightly to the battery.
The airflow is built into the pod, which is different from most other pod vapes which have the airflow built into the device. This is nice because you can set each pod for the airflow that you want and don’t have to adjust the airflow each time you insert a new pod. This is particularly convenient when switching between pods and vaping styles, such as when using the 0.6Ω pod for RDL and the 0.8Ω for MTL.
Battery & Charging
The AEROK lasts for a pretty long time on a charge due to the massive 1650mAh battery. This is one of the largest batteries that I’ve seen in a small pod vape, and certainly the largest battery in a pod vape this small and slim.
I got 3 pods, or around 2-3 days of use per charge from the AEROK. This is while using both pods and switching between them here and there. I used each pod within their recommended wattage range, with the 0.6Ω coil vaping at 18W and the 0.8Ω coil at 13W.
Unfortunately, charging times aren’t so quick. The AEROK only has 1A charging and so it takes over an hour and a half for a full charge. A good charging time would be an hour or less, so this is much lengthier than I like to see for a pod vape – even one with such a large battery.
Performance
The AEROK is a functional pod vape for both MTL and RDL vaping. Too many pod vapes excel at one or the other but the AEROK does a good job with both vaping styles.
As I mentioned before, you can use either coil for either vaping style but the 0.6Ω coil does better for RDL vaping and the 0.8Ω coil does better for MTL vaping. I’ve still managed to get a good MTL experience from the 0.6Ω coil and a good RDL vape from the 0.8Ω coil but it’s a better vape when using the coils as they are meant to be used.
Since these are nexMESH coils, I was expecting to be blown away by the flavor. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. The flavor is good and the coils do a fine job of bringing out subtle flavors in ejuices but I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I was blown away. This probably has to do with the top-airflow design of the pod. Top airflow is never as flavorful as bottom airflow and, although it’s much more leak resistant, the flavor is worse for it.
The flavor is also a bit inconsistent. I found that the flavor drops off if vaping too often, only returning when the coil is left to wick and absorb the ejuice again. This signals a wicking issue to me and when it happened, it made me wonder if I was going to get a dry hit if I kept on vaping.
On the positive side, there were no dry hits and I didn’t have any leaking either.
Verdict
The AEROK pod kit is a vape that does well for both MTL and RDL vaping. No matter which coil you choose, you can vape how you want. I suggest using the 0.6Ω coil for RDL and the 0.8Ω coil for MTL vaping though because this is how the AEROK performs best.
