Our Verdict

I feel the same way about the F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 as I did about the originals. The design is definitely better thanks to the colored resin, but the performance has remained the same. I couldn’t notice a difference from the originals to these version 2’s, and it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to tell the difference either.

But even though they aren’t better, the performance of the originals carries over to these disposables and that performance is quite good. The draw is excellent, as is the throat hit and satisfaction that these disposables provide.

Whether you go with the F-Resin Pro 2 or the F-Resin Max 2, you get a lot of ejuice no matter which one you pick. But all of that ejuice comes at a cost; not monetary cost, as these are quite affordably priced (around $10 USD), but at the cost of portability. These are quite bulky, so keep that in mind if a compact disposable is important to you.

The F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 are two of the latest disposable vapes from Freeton. They’re large capacity disposables that, as the name suggests, feature a resin body for style.

The F-Resin Max 2 is the larger of the two devices. It comes filled with 18ml of ejuice for up to 8000 puffs. The F-Resin Pro is slightly smaller and comes filled with 12ml of ejuice for up to 5000 puffs.

Both of these disposables have a 600mAh battery that can be recharged with Type-C charging. Both also feature an adjustable airflow slider on the bottom of the device. The F-Resin Max 2 and F-Resin Pro 2 are available in either 20mg/ml or 50mg/ml nicotine strengths.

Freeton is a disposable vaping brand that has an impressive (if not a little overwhelming) catalog of devices. They currently offer over 35 different disposables in different shapes and designs, and with varying amounts of ejuice.

I’ve reviewed a few of Freeton’s disposables in the past, including the original F-Resin Pro and F-Resin Max. Are these latest versions better or are you better off going with something else? I’ll answer these questions and more in this review.

Design & Build Quality

Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 3

The design and appearance of the F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 are nearly identical to the originals, but with one major difference; the resin is colored. The originals looked nice with their black resin and gold writing, but the different colored resins on these looks even better. The flavor, puff count, device name, and FREETON are printed on the front of each one in black print.

You might be asking if these are actually real resin or just plastic with an imitation pattern printed on. I’m quite confident that this is real resin, and let me explain why.

Although I thought that these may have just been plastic, I’ve examined 10 of the units that I received and each one of them has a different resin pattern. I would expect them to be the same if it was fake. Also, you can see a sort of opalescent effect on some of these if you look close enough, which I don’t think you can get with plastic.

These don’t have a soft resin texture, but instead they feature a gloss finish that is nice in its own way. Each flavor comes in a different color resin which matches with the flavor inside. For example, Mango Ice is yellow and Cool Mint is green.

  • Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 14

The color of the resin is vibrant and looks great in the sun. I didn’t fully appreciate the design until I held one of these in the sunlight and saw how the resin glistened. Much nicer than the black resin on the originals.

The F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 are basically the same device, only the latter comes filled with more ejuice and is slightly larger. The F-Resin Pro 2 is 97mm tall and comes filled with 12ml of ejuice, while the F-Resin Max 2 is 109mm tall and comes filled with 18ml of ejuice. Otherwise, they look identical and share the same width and depth dimensions of 24.12mm deep and 32.69mm wide.

That being said, these are both quite bulky and large. The smaller F-Resin Pro 2 is more portable but still large and, in my opinion, at the limit of how large a disposable should be. The F-Resin Max 2 is just a beast of a disposable and might as well have been a single battery mod. With either of these disposables, don’t expect to carry around multiple at a time. At least not comfortably.

The drip tips on these are semi-transparent and lightly tinted. This allows you to see the silicone gasket that separates the internals from the mouthpiece. It’s reassuring to see this gasket there for leak-resistance and the transparent mouthpiece looks cool, but otherwise there’s no real purpose but for aesthetics. The pyramid shape of the mouthpiece is large but comfortable to vape on.

Features

Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 13

These two disposables are essentially the same device, only one is larger and offers more puffs. Aside from this main difference, they have the same coil inside, the same airflow control, the same battery, and the same flavors.

These disposables aren’t too different from what’s already out there in the sense that they are easy to use and are meant to be thrown away once all of the ejuice inside is finished. They do, however, have adjustable airflow which is not something that you get on every disposable. But the general principle is the same; inhale on the mouthpiece to vape and throw them away once the ejuice is finished.

The F-Resin Pro 2 comes filled with 12ml of ejuice for 5000+ puffs, while the F-Resin Max 2 comes filled with 18ml of ejuice for 8000+ puffs. Both house a 1.2Ω mesh coil and offer the same 10 flavors.  Each are available in either 20mg/ml or 50mg/ml nicotine strength.

Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 9

Both feature an adjustable airflow slider, which is located on the bottom of the device. There isn’t a lot of room to adjust the airflow, but you can get a RDL draw with it wide open or a loose MTL draw with it all of the way closed. The airflow slider had some difference in stiffness between my devices, with some being looser than others, but all of them stayed where they were set without issue.

The F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 have a built-in 600mAh battery which charges with Type-C charging. You’ll get 200-300 puffs per charge before the battery runs out. When that happens, plug them in and recharge them and you’re good to vape another  200-300 puffs.

These are draw-activated-only disposables. There are no buttons and you just have to inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.

Flavors

Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 2

There are ten flavors available for the F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2. The flavors are shared between the two disposables, so you don’t have to get a certain one just to get a certain flavor.

Many of the flavors are brought over from the original version of these disposables, so not much has changed. These are fruit flavors for the most part, but with one drink flavor (pink lemonade) and one candy flavor (rainbow candy). The flavors are:

  • Aloe Grape
  • Blue Razz
  • Cool Mint
  • Mango Ice
  • Peach Ice
  • Pineapple Coconut
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Rainbow Candy
  • Raspberry Watermelon
  • Sour Apple

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Aloe Grape

The combination of aloe and grape is not a new one, but Freeton does a good job with their mix. I mainly taste grapes, but I like what the aloe adds to the flavor. There’s a lot of sweetness on the initial inhale, but the aloe brings it down a notch afterwards.

Peach Ice

This flavor is not as candied as many other peach flavors that I’ve tried so it’s a nice change. There’s still some candying but the sweetness isn’t as strong so it tastes a little more natural. There’s not a lot of ice but there’s enough that you can catch the hint of it on the exhale.

Raspberry Watermelon

This is a great fruit combination that I’m surprised more companies aren’t making. The two flavors go together perfectly and mix together to create one nice flavor. I taste the watermelon more strongly than the raspberry, which comes in more towards the end of the draw. I highly recommend trying this flavor.

Sour Apple

The apple flavor is great, along with some ‘bitterness’ that a real green apple would have. I like the level of sweetness and the overall apple flavor that Freeton went with. Anyone who likes apple flavors should give this one a try.

Blue Razz

Freeton’s blue razz has been one of my favorites since I tried the originals of these devices and nothing has changed here. It’s still sweet, tasty, and candied all in just the right amounts. If you’re a blue razz fan, you might find a new favorite flavor with these disposables.

How do they vape?

Freeton F-Resin Pro 2 and F-Resin Max 2 - 1

For the version 2 of any device, you naturally expect significant upgrades in design and performance which would warrant releasing a new version.

But while the design has definitely been made better thanks to the colored resin, I can’t say that I notice a difference in the performance of these compared to the originals. The originals were good, so it’s not a matter of these being bad disposables. It’s just that there’s no significant performance jump in the flavor, draw, or satisfaction that would justify these as being the version 2.

Okay, so they don’t perform better than the originals, but how do they perform? First and foremost, these provide good satisfaction when vaping and the throat hit is wonderful. I’m using the 5% strength versions and I don’t find them to be too strong at all. In fact, the throat hit and draw are just right for me to feel good while vaping them.

The draw is smooth, even when taking large draws. These can put out a lot of vapor too, which is surprising for a disposable.

Performance issues have been non-existent with all of my five units that I’ve been using. There has been no leaking at all, which is obviously a good thing, and none of these have gone haywire. The draw activation is good and works without issues as well.

The only thing that I wish was different is the tightness of the draw. Even closing down the airflow all the way only provides a loose MTL draw. I would have liked the airflow to be able to be brought down to a true MTL and I’m sure that some vapers out there will feel the same way.

As these are, you’re going to get a restricted direct lung draw with the airflow open and a loose MTL with the airflow closed. The airflow slider doesn’t actually allow you to close it all of the way; it still leaves one hole open.
