VOZOL NEON 10000 Review: Does it Get A Glowing Recommendation?

The NEON 10000 may be another disposable vape in a market that is saturated with devices, but the design has a few things going on that might make you pick it up over the competition. 

Firstly, it’s really small and compact. VOZOL says that this is the smallest 10000 puff disposable vape in the world. While I can’t say with certainty if this is the case or not, based on what I know I’m inclined to agree with them. The NEON 10000 is 92mm tall, 33mm wide, and 23mm deep, so it’s certainly small by any standard. But when you consider the amount of puffs, the small size becomes doubly impressive.

Another obviously different design feature of the NEON 10000 is the transparent tank that is visible at the top of the device. The tank takes up about a third of the height of the body and you can easily see the 10ml of ejuice inside. The body of each flavor is tinted a different color so some flavors are easier to track than others, but overall I like this design way better than a digital eliquid indicator.

Like VOZOL’s STAR 9000, the NEON 10000 also has a dust cap. This cap is made of silicone and attaches to the side of the device to keep it close at hand for when you need it and also to make it harder to lose. My issue with this design is that it slips out of the anchor spot pretty easily, which is great if you don’t want to use it but can be frustrating as it almost defeats the purpose of having it anchored in the first place.

The compact, oval shaped body is nice, especially with some of the colors that VOZOL has chosen for the body. Each flavor is a gradient of two colors, going from transparent at the top of the device (so you can see into the tank) to solid at the bottom. There’s a  large VOZOL logo on the front of the device and the flavor printed on the back.

Features

The NEON 10000 may be tiny but it comes filled with 10ml of ejuice and offers 10,000 puffs per device. That’s impressive for the size and really convenient for vapers who want a high-puff disposable without having to sacrifice portability.

Equally as impressive as the high puff count is the fact that there’s a 500mAh battery that is somehow stuffed into the device. It recharges through a Type-C port on the bottom of the device and only takes about 45 minutes to fully charge.

Alright, so you can see where your ejuice level is at so there’s no need for an ejuice indicator display or light. But what about battery life, how do you track that? Located on the side of the NEON 10000 there’s four LED lights that are there for this exact reason. Upon taking a draw , the LED’s will light up to let you know where your battery life is sitting. Each light represents 25% battery, so when there’s only one LED lighting up you’ll want to find a charger.

Here is where we get into some of the more technical features of the NEON 10000 and there are quite a few of them.

Inside of each device is VOZOL’s 5th generation ceramic coil technology. This is said to improve the utilization rate of eliquid and atomization efficiency of the device. In other words, the NEON 10000 delivers puffs and uses less eliquid than a disposable with a ‘regular’, non-ceramic coil.

In addition to the efficiency, the ceramic coil is also said to provide purer, smoother, and better vapor. This means less residue in the mouth and a consistent flavor right up until the last puff. I’ll go over the performance of this device in the ‘How do they vape?’ section of this review but I think that VOZOL is on to something with this ceramic coil.

Last but not least, there’s a maze-structure that sits under the pod to prevent leaking. It works too and I haven’t had any leaking from any of the five devices that I’ve been using; not from the mouthpiece, not from the bottom, not from anywhere.

Flavors

The NEON 10000 offers nineteen flavors at launch. There are a lot of ice and mint flavors so if you like a bit of cooling in your vape then there’s plenty of options for you. For everyone else, there are some options without ice but perhaps not as many as you might like. The flavors for the NEON 10000 have a lot of variety and there’s a tobacco flavor, a clear flavor, and other flavors that aren’t just your standard, straight fruit flavors. The flavors are:

I’m going to describe how five of these flavors taste to me and what I think of them. However, keep in mind that just because I like a flavor that does not mean that you will like it. Similarly, if I don’t like a flavor this does not mean that you will not like it. This is solely my subjective opinion.

Rainbow Sour

This is a hard flavor to describe because I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be tasting but what I can say is that it’s good. It’s slightly tart with light fruity notes and some candy flavor as well. It’s all rather light but really interesting as I feel like I’m tasting something a little different with each puff. No cooling that I can taste in this flavor.

Raspberry Watermelon

The mix here is just spot on. I get raspberries on the immediate inhale, followed by a strong watermelon flavor. The exhale then finishes with a mix of the two fruits, biased a bit towards the watermelon notes. This flavor is full and mildly sweet, with just enough sweetness to keep me coming back from draw after draw. The fruit flavors here are natural and not candied at all. There’s also no hint of ice or cooling.

Blackberry Storm

This is the best flavor out of the five that I tried and it’s not even close (at least in my opinion). The berry notes are full and have a lot of depth; that’s the best way to describe it. It’s sweet and bold on the inhale, with subtle notes on the exhale and a pleasant lingering aftertaste. Again, this is a natural tasting flavor that works perfectly for an all-day-vape. There’s no cooling in this flavor whatsoever.

Sour Apple Ice

This is exactly what I imagine a sour apple flavor should taste like so VOZOL did a great job with their version here. Lots of tartness along with a strong green apple flavor that stays the same from the inhale to the exhale. There’s some cooling here but not so much that it should turn away any ice-averse vapers. 

Pink Bomb

It’s hard to say exactly what flavors are here but it’s fruity with a rose taste. There’s also cooling present even though it’s not mentioned in the name of the flavor. It’s light though so it’s not too bad or off-putting. Raspberry and strawberry seem to be the fruit flavors here but I can’t say with certainty. In any case, the sweetness is about a 7/10 with good flavor all throughout the inhale and exhale.

How do they vape?

After testing and reviewing so many disposables, there’s a simple way that I’ve come to determine if a disposable vape is good or not and that’s if I find myself looking for the device and not longing for another disposable. This isn’t the only determining factor, but it’s a quick way for me to determine, rather subconsciously, if a disposable device is really good or not.

With the NEON 10000 I found myself looking for it to take a draw and not once during my testing was I wanting to use another device. I found the NEON 10000 to be more than ample to meet my needs of a nice draw, nicotine satisfaction, and good flavor.

The MTL draw is pretty standard and neither too tight or too loose. There’s enough airflow that it’s easy to draw on but not so much that it’s too airy or direct to lung. I’ve been very happy with the mouth to lung draw that these provide.

The ceramic coil that powers these devices makes for a really great overall experience. The vapor is definitely clean-tasting and, as VOZOL states, doesn’t leave ‘residue’ in your mouth. You know that kind of film that you can feel on your tongue after vaping a really sugary and sweet disposable? None of that here with any of the flavors that I tried.

I also definitely noticed the efficiency of the ceramic coil at work thanks to the transparent ejuice tank. The NEON 10000 doesn’t seem to use as much ejuice as other disposable devices to achieve the same number of puffs. Even with constant daily use, I’ve still got ejuice left in many of my devices and I’m someone who vapes hundreds of puffs per day.

Verdict

With the NEON 10000, good things definitely come in small packages. The overall performance from such a small device is impressive and definitely changes the baseline for how much you should expect out of a small disposable.

The NEON 10000 maintains excellent portability, a high-puff count, a long-lasting and quick-charging battery, as well as excellent flavors, all in a small device. In addition to these pros, the ceramic coil also offers great ejuice efficiency which allows you to vape longer on less ejuice.

I especially like that this device has a transparent ejuice tank so that you can manually, easily, and visually check your remaining ejuice. No need to rely on an ambiguous ejuice indicator here! 

The only minor con to these disposables is the lack of non-ice flavors and the easily-removed dust cap. If you’re not a fan of the dust cap then this is a non-issue but I do wish that it was a little more securely attached to the side of the device.

All things considered, I can easily recommend the NEON 10000 both to vapers looking for a portable device and for those looking for a high-puff count option.
